The wall of flames died out and Haze looked at Elena.

"The snakes disappeared, I figured you killed her". She said.

"Yeah". Haze said with a little smugness.

"Took you long enough". Elena replied.

Haze bit back a retort and instead stepped back from the doors, any moment, one of them would open.

He thought about the new ability he just got, seer. What did it do?

[Seer: gives the user ability to see peoples' stats]

Sees peoples' stats? Haze thought. How does that work?

[Activate ability, seer?]

"Yes". Haze said out loud.

[Seer activate]

Hades waited for a change but nothing happened, he sighed, all that work for a useless ability.

"Who are you talking to?" Elena asked him.

Haze turned back to look at her and almost jumped in surprise, he could see information about her, almost like she was a character in a video game.

Haze studied the profile in amazement, it said she was at level 4 and she was a 4th generation demigod. Did that mean there were ranks for the demigods and would he become a 4th generation demigod when he reached level 4

The third opened suddenly and a gust of wind went through the room. The queen of witches stepped out, this time there were no shadows around her head so her face was visible and she was clearly livid.

"When you want something done properly, you have to do it yourself". The queen said as she stepped up to them.

She took off her long robe revealing a short dress that looked like an amour but it wasn't metal plated, instead it looked like the plates were made of leather.

"What's that?" Haze asked Elena.

"What?" She replied.

"Her armor, what's it made of?" He said.

"Oh, that's a special cursed monster skin". She replied. "It's just as strong as metal, but ten times lighter and more flexible".

"Enough chit chat". The queen said and took a fighting stance, she pointed at Haze. "You're dead meat".

Haze looked at her and her stats appeared on the screen.

Haze couldn't deny that a part of him was beginning to enjoy these battles and the subsequent killings that came with it. Yet, as he took one look at the witch before him, Haze suddenly didn't feel like fighting. The queen was stronger than anyone he had ever fought and he knew for a fact that even if he had a chance of winning, it would be a slim one.

He decided to bluff.

"We don't have to do this". Haze said with a forced smirk. "Return Hades' ring and we can call it day."

The queen's eyes gleamed with evil delight, she brought out a necklace from her clothes and held it up. "This ring?"

Haze looked at the pendant of the necklace and saw Hades' ring attached there, shining even in the dark corridor.

He didn't know how but he could tell it was for Hades, which was a relief since he had been wondering how he would recognize the ring and not be tricked by a phony.

"Yes that one". Haze replied. "Now be a darling and toss it over here so we can all be on our way".

The queen's smile vanished. "Insolent boy". She said in an icy voice. "I will teach you manners".

She raised her hand. "Shadow spear!"

Shadows began to pour out of her hand in a fluid like form, the fluid like shadows took the shape of a spear and hardened.

Elena had been quiet while watching the two of them talk back and forth and now she watched as the queen formed a shadow spear.

"You're not the only who can control matter". She muttered and raised her hand.

"Fire spear!"

Flames came together to from the shape of a spear in her hand.

The queen watched the display first with a little surprise on her face, then the surprise was replaced by anger.

"Think you can play in the big leagues huh, daughter of Zeus?" She said with nasty smile on her face.

"Bring it on". Elena said.

She had barely finished talking when the queen charged at her with her shadow spear aimed straight at her heart.

Elena ducked hard to the right and jabbed her spear at the queen's side, the queen was very fast though and she blocked it quickly.

She jabbed her spear at Elena again and the latter responded with hers, the two spears clashed in the middle.

Frustated, the queen pulled back. "Shadow axe!" She cried and the shadows took the form of an axe.

"Fire axe!" Elena replied and her flames took the shape of an axe.

The queen attacked Elena again, swinging fast and hard, the attacks were lightning fast but Elena managed to block them, she stumbled back as she did.

"That's all?" She panted. "I expected more from the queen of witches".

The expression on the queen's face had changed to fury.

Haze watched the fight with awe, analyzing it at a very fast rate. It seemed the queen's shadows recoiled at the presence of fire, making Elena a tough match for her.

It made sense when Haze thought about it, shadows would always be scared of flames as it was a source of light as well as heat.

It's because she's very powerful that her shadows haven't melted yet. He thought. If it were a less poweful person, perhaps the shadows would have melted or disappeared by now.

The queen stepped back and looked at Elena, then she looked at Haze, the shadows retreated back into her hands.

"All that talk and you can't even beat a 3rd generation demigod". Haze taunted.

An expression of anger crossed the queen's face but just as quickly, it was replaced by a smile.

She stomped on the floor twice and with lightning speed, a wall shot up behind Haze.

He looked back and his eyes widened, the wall had separated him and Elena.

"Let's see how well you fare without your friend". The queen said with an evil gleam in her eyes.
