After lunch, Mr. Meyer had to return to the city to attend to his shop, so he didn't stay at home for long.

Yuga, on the other hand, was led by Clemont's sister, Bonnie, to their backyard to see Clemont's Pokémon.

Clemont specialized in training Electric-type Pokémon, but he didn't have a large number of them. When Yuga arrived, he saw only seven Pokémon.

Among them were the familiar Heliolisk, a Helioptile, a Emolga, a Magneton, a Plusle, a Minun, and a Flaaffy.

When Yuga and Bonnie entered the yard, the Pokémon had just finished eating lunch and were resting.

Heliolisk was leading Helioptile on a walk, while the Magneton was hovering in the air. Plusle, Minun, and Emolga were playing and chasing each other on the grass.

As Minun was running, it accidentally bumped into Bonnie, resulting in a comical fall. Bonnie quickly picked it up.

"Aw, you little rascal!"

Bonnie gave Minun a kiss on its face and turned to Yuga, asking, "Big brother, isn't Minun adorable?"

Minun, being held by Bonnie, nuzzled her cheek and looked quite happy.

"Yes, indeed, very adorable."

Yuga nodded and agreed. Both Plusle and Minun were undeniably cute Electric-type Pokémon.

Despite their small stature, they had cheerful and lively personalities, making them particularly appealing to children.

However, in terms of battling, they weren't particularly powerful, and not many Trainers chose to use them. Yuga was surprised that Clemont had both Plusle and Minun.

Bonnie quickly joined in playing with Plusle, Minun, and Emolga.

While the other Pokémon were resting, Yuga noticed that Flaaffy seemed to be practicing a move.

In front of Flaaffy, there was a wooden post, and Flaaffy clenched its fists, repeatedly striking the post with powerful punches.

Seeing Yuga watching the Flaaffy practicing in the distance, Clemont sighed with a hint of frustration and said, "My Flaaffy has been trying to learn the Thunder Punch move recently, but it's been struggling, and we haven't made much progress."

Yuga suddenly understood. Pokémon like Flaaffy or Ampharos tend to have a higher talent for learning Special Attack moves, and they might find it more challenging to learn physical moves.

This is inevitable; different Pokémon have different tendencies when it comes to their innate abilities.

Some excel in physical attacks, some in special attacks, some can do well in both areas, and others are more focused on support moves.

Clearly, Flaaffy falls into the second category.

However, it doesn't mean that if a Pokémon excels in one aspect, they should completely ignore the other.

Take Flaaffy, for example. Usually, it relies on long-range attacks to bombard opponents, but what if someone gets too close? It can't just use special attacks up close, right?

(Note: In Pokémon moves, special attacks don't necessarily correspond to long-range attacks, and physical attacks don't necessarily mean close combat. Most special moves tend to be long-range, and most physical moves tend to be close combat, but there are exceptions.)

In terms of flexibility, this approach isn't practical; it might even accidentally hurt itself.

So, having a few close combat moves for such situations is crucial. It doesn't require them to deal a lot of damage, but at least they won't be defenseless.

For example, Yuga's Gengar primarily relies on special attacks, but it also knows moves like Shadow Punch for close combat.

Shadow Punch may not be very powerful when used by Gengar, but if an opponent gets too close, it can still retaliate.

Yuga rarely faces difficulties in teaching Pokémon moves since his Ecopark has a diverse range of Pokémon. If one can't teach a particular move, he can always turn to another Pokémon for guidance. If one teacher isn't good enough, there's always another one.

Others clearly don't have this advantage.

Seeing the exhausted Flaffy, Clemont couldn't help but walk over and insist that it take a break.

"Effort is crucial, but rest is equally important, isn't it?"

Clemont crouched down, patted Flaffy's back, and said to it.

This Flaffy was quite petite, and even when Clemont crouched down, he was still taller than it.

"Flaaffy..."

Flaffy felt somewhat clumsy, having been trying to learn a move for so long without success.

In its quest to learn Thunder Punch, Flaffy even sought advice from Meyer's Blaziken. While Blaziken didn't know Thunder Punch, it did know Fire Punch, and Flaffy hoped that watching Fire Punch might give it some inspiration.

But despite its efforts, it hadn't made any progress.

Yuga approached and noticed the red marks on Flaffy's hands from practicing punches, with faint traces of blood. He reached out and gently held Flaffy's hands.

Startled by the touch of a stranger holding its hands, Flaffy instinctively tried to pull away. However, before it could react, it felt a warm sensation enveloping its hands, which was incredibly comforting.

As the warmth spread throughout its body, Flaffy felt all the pain and fatigue vanish.

"How does that feel? Much better?" Yuga asked as he released Flaffy's hands.

Flaffy stared at its unharmed hands in astonishment.

It was truly miraculous!

Clemont, too, was taken aback by Yuga's actions.

"Just a little trick, don't be surprised," Yuga said, making no effort to conceal his special ability.

It was well-known that his mentor, Mr. Kuni'o, possessed such abilities, and as Mr. Kuni'o's disciple, having similar abilities was only natural.

Upon hearing Yuga's words, Clemont nodded and refrained from asking further questions. He suddenly felt that his big brother was a very mysterious person.

It had been this way in the Malamar Laboratory, and now with these special abilities.

Flaffy, on the other hand, stared at Yuga with its curious, round eyes.

"Flaffy, would you like to learn Thunder Punch? How about I find you a mentor?" Yuga suggested.

"Does Big Brother have a Pokémon that knows Thunder Punch?" Clemont asked excitedly.

Yuga nodded. His Dragonite not only knew Thunder Punch but also Thunder, Thunderbolt, and Thunder Wave.

"Then let Dragonite teach you Thunder Punch. Whether you can learn it or not depends on your own efforts," Yuga said, releasing his Dragonite.

"It's Dragonite!" Clemont exclaimed with realization. He had ridden on Dragonite before but had no idea it knew Thunder Punch.

As soon as Dragonite emerged, it lifted its head and let out a roar towards the sky. Thin streaks of lightning radiated from its yellow scales, giving it a truly imposing presence.

The electricity on Dragonite's body was different from that of ordinary Electric-type Pokémon. It originated from Zapdos and had been nurtured by the Yellow Gem, containing a hint of divinity and exerting strong suppression on ordinary Electric-type Pokémon.
