I’m straight I tell you! STRAIGHT!

Updates Mon/Fri, unless i’m fairly busy. In that case, I will only upload on either Mon or Fri. Jacob Trennings was your ordinary guy who was fairly content with his life. He had a loving wife, a happy family, and enough money to not have to truly worry when it came to possible future kids...or at least he thought he did. Hit with the largest betrayal of his life, Jacob wakes up in a body not of his own whose past is confusing at best, with memories that make absolutely no sense. The life of the new Evan Renelli is bound to be a whirlwind of events. His new family is suspicious at times and suddenly, he has to deal with not just an entirely new world that is so far removed from the one he lived in before, with similarities that seem realistic but really aren’t, but also magic, new races, and ...a mysterious man?!? Evan (Jacob): Hey wait a second!! I’m straight, stop chasing me!! ???: Hm?~ Yet you get so flustered around me, are you sure that you’re just “straight”. Evan: ...i’ll show you.. -credit towards the artist for the picture used-

Chapter 34: Cultural Festival pt.4

Standing in his view was the principal himself..or so he believed. The man was wearing a bright blue tuxedo with plenty of plants as a print design. His signature grin lay upon his face as he stared down at Evan.

Evan couldn't really fathom why the man was by him, rather than mingle with the other parents of children who attend his school. It's just weird. He knows that unlike other students, his progression through both academics and magic are far more important as the entire world's fate lies in his hands or something. Still, he isn't quite sure how to feel about this encounter.

The last time he'd met the principal, he had been informed of an awful prophecy and then shooed out of the office without being told of the others. It didn't leave a great impression on him at all, as the man hasn't really followed through with what he said. Evan was supposed to have personal training with this guy early on and though it has only been a bit over a month, he feels somewhat...neglected in the oddest sense. A grimace appears on his face at the thought he just had, as he waits for the principal to say something.

The awkward silence stretches a bit longer, as the red-bearded man's grin never falters. It gives Evan the feeling that he is about to be scammed out of something, but what exactly is the question. "Er, hello sir. How may I help you?" Evan asks, cringing at the wording as it makes it sound like he's an employee somewhere.

The man doesn't speak, simply continues to grin while motioning Evan to follow him. Even more suspicious than before, Evan sends a quick text to Cole secretly in case something happens. He doesn't believe the principal would hurt him, yet it may not be the principal at all.

While following behind the man, Evan's arms felt tired from the two books he was carrying, wishing he'd made a stop at his dorm room. However, he wouldn't have been able to predict this event whatsoever. A quiet beep was heard by his fox ears, hoping Cole texted him back.

Evan was led into a classroom far away from all the festivities, raising red flags in his mind. The principal sat on top of a desk and crossed his legs. During the festival, there are plenty of scents everywhere making it difficult to pinpoint people's specific scents, but now that he is isolated with the man, he smells completely off.

Racking his brain for who it could possibly be, Evan comes to a confusing conclusion. "Yan?!?" He asks, baffled. Why would Yan pretend to be the principal and bring him to a location away from wandering eyes? 'Also, how the hell is she disguising herself?!', he thinks to himself, not recognizing the type of magic that would allow her to do such a feat.

'Principal Mies' poofed out of existence and Yan remained in his place, looking a bit nervous. For what reason? He had no idea why. Her lavender eyes held bounds of worry within them as she tried to figure out how to word what she needed to say. "First, let me apologize for the deceit. I don't really have anyone to turn to right now and I am not keen on trusting any teacher." She started off, confusing Evan further. 'She didn't trust teachers?', his mind felt like a jumbled mess full of unanswered questions.

"As you saw, I have another magic type that isn't really well-known because it is exclusive to those of my people." Evan could feel her eyes intensifying as she seemed prepared to go into a whole spiel about he is being told specifically.

He watched with wide eyes as two transparent wings came from Yan's back, completely caught off guard. "You're a faerie?! I thought they were tiny creatures??" Evan, confused by the wrong knowledge in his history textbook, looks towards Yan for answers. She sneers at him, "Of course they're wrong, our species is hidden away in distant lands that are not disclosed to outsiders." She huffed out, annoyed that Evan had even insinuated that she was anything like those textbooks described.

"Er, so why are you revealing yourself to me??" Evan questions, really just wanting some straight answers. Sometimes, it really does feel like one thing after the other. Lucky for him, Yan should have been the one constantly watching him today, so that alleviates some of the stress and worry he felt.

"A seer amongst my people stated that I would be necessary during your journey so I would like some training, but this cannot reach the principal's ears. He's a great man, but he has tried to find our people for so long that we aren't sure if we can truly trust him." She lays out her request in a way that makes it difficult for Evan to even think about refusing. Only Cole, Miss Y, a few teachers, and the principal knew about the journey he was to eventually go on, so he believed her.

"Well, i'm not sure how to train you exactly. We don't have the small abilities..." Evan trails off, trying to get his point across. However, an idea pops into his head. "You've taken private lessons with Miss Y, right?" He asks, getting a nod from Yan in return. "What if we tell her a portion of the truth, because then she could at least train you in the magic i've seen during class." He believes his plan is the best one they've got, as Miss Y is a ruthless trainer who will help a student succeed, simply at the cost of their sanity.

"..Alright, I can agree to that. The next time you have your lesson, speak to her about the truth i'll text to you." She sternly states, taking her phone out and letting Evan add his number. Once she has that in hand, she waves him goodbye and somehow just disappears.

Evan sits on the floor in the classroom, needing a second to process what happened. Yan reaching out to him makes him realize how little 3 years of time really is and it stresses him out, knowing that he probably won't be strong enough by the time his journey begins. Groaning, Evan lays down and takes a nap, leaving an alarm on his phone to wake him up after an hour.

Just another regular day for him.

This mini arc within the main arc will actually be 10 parts in total, as each day gets 3 parts with the exception of the first day.

Certain groups have hidden themselves and will appear throughout the story!

Enjoy~
