She was a whole new person.

Gu Jingze raced into the room juggling so many shopping bags in his hands. He poured the entire content next to Yu Yan and turned to Ling Xiao.

"Did I buy enough?" Ling Xiao was stunned. What exactly did Gu Jingze go shopping for, a blood factory?

If not for the intensifying pain she was feeling, Yu Yan was sure she would have laughed. Shakily, she stood up and picked one of them, heading for the bathroom.

Gu Jingze held her to support her and she hurriedly went in.

"Boss, how could you buy this amount of sanitary pads? She's just one person. "

" It's too much? " Gu Jingze asked, looking like a dummy.

" Yes, even if you wanted to be extravagant, you could have just bought two of each, unless, you bought the entire section! " Ling Xiao yelled pointing at his boss accusingly.

" I... I.. I didn't." Gu Jingze looked away guiltily.

" I'll go make her tea. " He added when Ling Xiao's stare didn't waver. He grabbed the tea pack and walked out of the room.

Just as he came back with the hot tea, he didn't see any sign of his woman.

"She's still in there?" He asked Ling Xiao who was sitting at a corner.

"Yes, I'll go grab more pillows to make her more comfortable." Ling Xiao exited the room quickly. The truth was that, he didn't want to be in the room lest Yu Yan came out wearing a towel, he knew Gu Jingze would almost kill him.

After waiting for a long time without her coming out, Gu Jingze was not sure if he should check on her or leave her be.

What if she had run away? He wouldn't be surprised anyway.

What if something had happened to her in there?

What if she passed out in the bath tub?

Thinking of the last two scenario, he knocked on the door.

" Are you okay?" He asked and was answered with the sound of running water. Filled with satisfaction, he went into his room to get her his shirt.

"Yu Yan, the clothes." He simply said, knocking on the door again. Yu Yan outstretched her hand to grab the cloth and shut the door in his face.

As soon as she saw what he gave to her, her mood changed. Smiling, she lifted his shirt to her nose and his smell filled her senses. She wondered why she did that and more importantly why that calmed her down?

Wearing his shirt, she walked out of the bathroom to meet a worried looking Gu Jingze in the corner of the big room. However, the worry faded as he trailed his eyes down her body.

As fast as anything, he had run out of the room.

"What's with him?" She questioned as she took a sip of the hot tea. Liking it's taste, she gulped it down rapidly.

Gu Jingze took deep breaths, trying to calm his raging beast. What the heck was that? What had he expected when he gave her his shirt? She never seemed to stop surprising him. He had thought she'll argue or throw it back in his face.

He sure wasn't prepared for the wet dripping hair, shiny white collarbone, long inviting neck as well as those long slender legs. She wasn't even wearing a bra!

His cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Just how much would this woman keep taunting him. How much does he have to prove to be in control.

He was a man, wasn't he?

Frustratedly, he grabbed the Ibuprofen tablets and a glass of water. Luckily, she ate not long ago, hence was in good condition to take it. Not wanting to risk it, he called He Yiqui to ask him about it.

No matter how knowledgeable you are, the rule is to never take unprescribed drugs.

He was proven right when He Yiqui said he should ask her if she has any case of ulcer before using it.

"Yu Yan." He called as he entered the room. His heart wrenched when he saw her. She was gripping the sheets hand, bent over as her face twisted in pain.

He held her other hand and she squeezed it tight, almost cracking his phalanges.

She twisted her body such that she was lying in a supine position.

"It hurts..." She wailed out.

"Don't worry, I'm here. Okay, I'm here for you. Ever had any case of ulcer?" He asked and the damsel shook her head.

He then fed her the medicine and some water. Coercing her to sleep, he sang some bedtime songs for her.

Meanwhile, Ling Xiao was almost crying outside the door, whilst eavesdropping. Almighty Gu was singing bedtime songs, even though childish, they were still something. Happily, he went home, his job there had been concluded. Now he had to see his girlfriend.

Gu Jingze brushed Yu Yan's hair backwards, looking at her sleeping form. Shaking his head, he went to his mum's room to pick her hairdryer. He scooped Yu Yan into his arms and started drying her hair gently.

"The only time you look at peace is when you sleep. " He said smiling and went to sleep on the couch, to he available at her beck and call.

Little did he know that the sleep was exactly what Yu Yan didn't like as she shut her eyes in distress, the scene that had been forced out of her memory coming to play....
