Deliveries and Confrontations

"Lilibeth, what are you doing here?" he asked me.

Something in the way he looked at me made me wonder if he was hoping I was here for him.

"Jason, I'm here for work," I said as I pushed a stray strand of hair over my ear. "My boss has a meeting and asked me to come."

"Oh," he said, his lips parting slightly, the very same lips that promised me all his love and dedication.

The same lips that probably kissed and sucked on Janet's, the lips that tricked me into offering him my heart, my every being.

"I actually forgot that you worked here," I confessed as his friends turned, realizing that he was speaking to me.

"Isn't this your ex, Jason?" one of his friends asked as he marched up to me and looked at me from head to toe. "She left you didn't she?"

"I did," I said as I stood straight. I had no plans on showing any weaknesses in front of these people. I knew that Jason and Janet had probably already spun lies to get them on their side.
