What kind of vampire are you?

[Dear Host, hide behind the door. Someone is coming.]

Coming into the HQ is easier since she only has to slam through the walls. But, going out is difficult when she's carrying a human child with her. Fu Mian is not saying anything, but Huang Qiuyan can sense her fear and anxiety. The little girl has been through much. Why are humans crueller than vampires? Fu Mian is treated like a princess by the vampires and the humans treat her like a blood source. Huang Qiuyan is having difficulty in understanding humans these days. Is it because she's a vampire now?

She hides behind the door. Fu Mian is quiet. The little girl is smart enough to know that she shouldn't make any sound. Huang Qiuyan raises her ear to hear the sound of footsteps coming toward her.

[Dear Host, there is only one human male. I cannot see his rank. I am guessing that he's an ordinary human or someone who is good at hiding his strength.]

The footsteps stop in front of the door.

[He's leaving, right?]

[Dear Host, I am not so sure. Be ready to fight. It's most likely an ordinary human.]

The man puts his palm on the door fearlessly. Huang Qiuyan widens her eyes in shock when she sees the blue door turning black as coal. With a kick, it is smashed down. In a flash, she puts Fu Mian on the ground.

The system identifies the man. [Dear Host, why are you so unlucky?]

Huang Qiuyan strikes his leg, intending to make him fall and then, run away with Fu Mian.

Crack!

Someone lets out a painful shriek.

It's her bone that broke.

[Dear Host, why are you so unlucky?]

She asks him with a pained voice, "Are you human?"

"Doubtlessly." The man's blue eyes twinkle in amusement when he sees the little vampire's astonished face. He presses his foot on her broken leg.

Huang Qiuyan holds back her scream. She doesn't want to scare Fu Mian. Whoever this man is, he is way worse than all the people she has met so far. She turns to Fu Mian and says, "Run and hide."

"I rarely see a vampire trying to save a human." He grabs her by her throat. "What kind of vampire are you?"

Fu Mian's round eyes become wider. She is terrified by what she is seeing. Her mother is being hurt. She slams her hands on the man's legs, trying to push him away from Huang Qiuyan. The man is surprised by the little girl's action.

He looks at her curiously. "Fu Mian, who is this woman to you?"

Huang Qiuyan is choking, unable to breathe. She can't die, but she is still in immense pain. The man isn't holding back his strength.

[Dear Host, this man is Ian Jonathon. He's the leader of the vampire hunters. At your current state, you are unable to beat him.]

[What should I do?]

[He cannot kill you because he doesn't know how to kill you. Stay calm. We can get out of this situation.]

[Fu Mian is in danger.]

Her vision is already darkening. Before she loses her consciousness, she hears Fu Mian's voice.

"Mommy!"
