Chapter: Manipulation (Part 1)

Miami was just up ahead. Zane sat in the passenger seat of a military truck while Hades was wrapped around the steering wheel. A total of twelve vehicles followed behind them— all in support of Zane's plan of 'revenge'.

Zane had ensured that the vehicle he was traveling in was only occupied by Hades and himself. He had come up with a new plan which he only trusted Hades to hear.

"You're aware that by doing this you'll hurt Layla, right?" Queried Hades.

"I'm well aware. Layla needs to let me go. It's for her own good," calmly answered Zane.

"Her emotions revolve around you. You're the reason she can even find the strength to keep going. So how is this new plan of yours for her own good?"

"That's the very reason she needs to let me go, Hades. She's too emotionally reliant on me. She needs to realize that she can depend on herself emotionally as well."
