Looking at the man with clear fear in his eyes Loki repeated his question to the man who liked to be mum.
"What did you do!? How did you resurrect them?"
"That was not a resurrection Mr. Loki." The man said with a faint glimmer in his eyes like he remembered something terrible.
But seeing Loki still unrelenting in his question, he continued to speak, "I stunned them to wipe away their memories of magic."
"Wipe their memories of magic? Huh? Why-"
"I am Severus Snape. Potion master at Hogwarts." the man interrupted, spitting the words slowly in a rhythmic fashion as if he were speaking a poem.
"..." Loki froze in his tracks as everything suddenly clicked in his mind. "You! You went to the wrong house and showed them magic!?" Loki accused.
Snape's eyebrows twitched at the mention of his embarrassing mistake but he said nothing to acquit himself, instead he spoke in a disgruntled tone. "Hand." while extending his own hand.
"So you did make a mistake! It's alright, it happens with everyone." Loki said patting Snape's hand and trying to comfort him.
But before Loki could spout another word from his mouth and dig the grave he was in even deeper, his figure twisted along with Snape as they disappeared in a loud *POP*.
"Huh? This? You can teleport!? I thought you were a potions master?" Loki asked starting to talk again as soon as he adjusted to the swimming feeling that had taken over his body.
"Follow me quietly." Snape raised his eyebrows at how fast Loki had gotten used to the feeling of apparition but ushered in a hushed whisper as his cloak bellowed behind him.
"Are you using magic to make your cloak float behind you? It isn't touching the ground." Loki asked in a whisper similar to Snape's tone.
Snape shot him an unsatisfied glare but did not stop walking.
"What is this place? Why are we here?" Loki asked pretending to be confused while looking around.
"Diagon Alley. To buy your school supplies." Snape responded without looking at Loki.
Of course, he knew this place and a lot more about the one next to it, since he had been there earlier in the year. But for the sake of his plan, Loki continued to pretend as if this was all new.
"Where are we going first?"
"Flourish and Blotts.", Snape said curtly, already tired of talking so much.
Entering the store, Loki found himself surrounded by books, stacks upon stacks of books.
'Although not as large and expansive as the library in the Black Manor it's still impressive.'
But before Loki could wander off and get lost among the wares of the store, Snape pulled Loki along with himself, moving to the counter at the back.
The storekeeper instantly recognised Snape and greeted him with a nod.
"Good Afternoon Professor Snape."
Snape just nodded.
"Do you need the set of first-year books for Hogwarts, Professor?" the storekeeper asked as he spotted Loki holding Snape's hand.
"Yes.", Snape said, pulling out a few gold Galleons from the pouch on his belt to drop onto the counter.
The shopkeeper pulled out a stack of books that were tied into a bundle using a rope from under the table and handed it over to Snape.
Snape only nodded his head, picked up the books and stuffed them into the pouch on his waist.
Loki looked longingly at the books in the store and even more longingly at the pouch on Snape's waist, but Snape did not allow him to linger any further and dragged him out with him.
"Where are we going next?" Loki asked giddily.
"Uniforms.", Snape said in a monotone voice while they entered the clothing store in front of them, Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.
"Hello there little one. You look very lacking in the fashion department. Are you here to buy Hogwarts Robes dear?" Madam Malkin asked politely brushing Loki's wild hair in the process.
"Yes, mam." Loki nodded his head after getting validation from Snape.
Magical tape measures were activated at the wave of her wand as Madam Malkin helped Loki stand on a short wooden stool.
Loki looked curiously at the magical display and pretended to feel a little overjoyed that he could witness something magical. It wasn't hard since he really was a little amazed at self-measuring tapes.
"What is your name dear, I need it for the labels on your clothes."
"Loki." Loki said with a soft smile.
"That's a nice name. Are you going to be a little troublemaker?" Madam Malkin laughed a little at her own joke and then said, "I will be back with your robes shortly dear." leaving to go to the back of the store where she would stitch robes according to Loki's sizes.
Just then, a sleek white-haired man dressed in dark black robes entered the store holding the hands of a little boy around Loki's age having the same white hair.
The white-haired man's eyes scanned the shop and paused at Snape with shock.
Hurrying quickly through the store Loki saw the man drag his child along while shifting through the clothes on display arriving beside Snape.
"Severus, what are you doing-" The man began to ask but paused when he saw Loki standing with his arms outstretched waiting for Madam Malkin to return and give him his clothes.
"Have you stooped so low Severus?" The white-haired man asked Snape as he looked at Loki with disgust.
Seeing the clear hatred the man had for him, Loki attempted to smile to give off a good impression but it seemed to have only disgusted the man further as he took a step back along with the little boy who was a spitting image of him.
"What are you?" The small boy asked.
Not liking how he was being treated by the two, Loki's expression warped into a frown.
"You still smell of your mother's milk brat go away from here." Loki cursed at the boy, trying out the most recent curse he had learned from Trelawney's letter.
Snape's eyebrows twitched but he said nothing, except the white-haired man spoke with distaste. "I knew it was a bad idea to come here. I just can't believe that the standards of Hogwarts and this store have fallen so low. Come on Draco, let's go."
"Yes, father." the young boy said walking away from Loki with a face that had turned blue with anger.
Loki could almost bet that he had seen Draco smell himself and scrunch up his nose after which he asked his father something.
"I'm sorry for the loss to your business Madam.", Loki said bowing politely toward Madam Malkin who Loki could see was standing just a little away.
"Oh don't worry, I would take a cute boy like you over arrogant pricks any time of the day." Madam Malkin said with a smile and patting Loki's head. "Here are your robes dear."
Snape took them and stored them along with the other things in his pouch and moved out of the store with Loki.
"I'll be back later Madam Malkin! Thank you for having us!" Loki shouted as Snape pulled him along.
Taking him to another store, Snape helped Loki purchase a trunk and got his name etched into the leather of the trunk.
'Finally! I get my own wand!!' Loki exclaimed in his mind excited about the prospect of waving his own mini reality-altering stick as they stood in front of a shop that said, 'Olivanders, Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.'.
A curious purple pillow lay in the front window upon which was a short brown wand pointing towards the street.
'Will that be my wand!?' Loki shouted in his mind, excited and even slightly trembling, wondering how he would finally get to be a full-fledged wizard.
