Shifting his greedy gaze away from the items, Borgin smiled at Arthur.
This batch of items would earn him a large profit, and even his smile appeared more genuine.
"I want Five dragon hearts, any type," he said.
Arthur's words remained calm and natural as if buying dragon hearts was as simple as buying a steak.
"What? Five dragon hearts?"
Borgin was shocked and couldn't find the words to answer. This dark wizard sure had guts!
There were not many dragon hearts in Europe, and most of them were kept at dragon sanctuaries.
Even if one managed to find a dragon, it couldn't be dealt with by just a few wizards.
It would require at least ten elite adult wizards to safely kill a dragon.
"Sir, are you sure about wanting five dragon hearts?"
"Yes, I'm sure. The payment for these items will serve as a deposit. Mr. Borgin, any further questions?" Arthur answered by asking a new question.
"None, none at all," Borgin said, his face blooming into a smile. With this exchange, he stood to make a big profit.
Respectfully, he escorted Arthur out of the shop. As he watched Arthur's figure disappear into the distance, Borgin's smile gradually faded.
"I hope you can survive this."
Borgin, the cunning old fox, had sent Arthur off with a smiling face, which caught the attention of the dark wizards secretly observing the shop.
If Arthur succeeded and survived, Borgin wouldn't dare to play any tricks in their future collaborations.
However, if Arthur never showed up again, Borgin would have made a pure profit from this batch of magical items.
...
Arthur walked along the old streets of Knockturn Alley, where most of the cobblestones were already damaged.
Suddenly, he paused as his sense detected several dark wizards gathering together, slowly following behind him.
A slight smirk played on Arthur's lips as he entered an empty alleyway.
The group of dark wizards had malicious smiles on their faces as they followed him inside.
A man with a scar on his face drew his wand and pointed it at Arthur, who stood motionless in the corner.
He spoke in a threatening tone.
"Kid, we saw that smug grin on Borgin's face when he sent you out. Hand over whatever you've got on you, and maybe we'll spare your life."
Although Scarface said that, sparing Arthur's life was out of the question.
A wizard's body was the best material for experimentation.
Arthur reached into his pocket and pulled out a bag of Galleons. He held it in his hand to see how much it was worth.
"Do you want it?"
The eyes of the wizards immediately turned red.
They recognized the sound of Galleons, and it seemed like a large amount. They were eager and ready to strike at any moment.
Seeing their eagerness, Arthur curled his finger, taunting them.
"If you want it, come and take it yourselves."
Without hesitation, the group of wizards exchanged glances, unable to contain their greed any longer. One after another, they cast curses toward Arthur.
...
A minute later, Arthur looked down at the fallen bodies and disdainfully curled his lip.
'This is their level? Pretending to be dark wizards? Their Avada Kedavra curse wouldn't even qualify to make me bleed..'
He raised his foot and kicked Scarface's body.
"Don't play dead. Get up. I have some questions for you."
Scarface could no longer pretend when he realized that Arthur had seen through his act. He stood up with an admiring expression and spoke to Arthur.
"Sir, we were blind this time. You are a person of great kindness. Could you please spare us this time?"
Arthur's eyes shined with a green light, which made Scarface kneel down in pain and look like he was suffering.
"I ask, you answer," Arthur coldly spoke.
Scarface dared not say anything else and nodded repeatedly.
"Are you the leader of this group?"
"No."
"Then who is your leader?"
"Well..."
Seeing Scarface hesitate, Arthur sent another unbearable pain to his wrist, making him beg loudly.
After a quick 5 seconds, Arthur stopped the spell.
"It's Alia. Our leader is Alia. She is the head of one of the three major forces in Knockturn Alley, rated at 3.8 power level."
Scarface quickly blurted out all the information he knew, fearing that Arthur would kill him without warning.
Feeling satisfied, Arthur hadn't expected to find the leader of a major force so smoothly.
It was one of his purposes for coming to Knockturn Alley—to gain control of a force to help gather materials and information for himself.
"Take me to meet her."
Arthur gave his command, and Scarface dared not resist. He walked ahead, leading Arthur to an old-fashioned mansion.
