"No!"
"Why can't I?"
Harry stood up excitedly, and Sirius looked puzzled as well.
But out of respect for Dumbledore, he controlled his emotions.
Arthur sat in Dumbledore's chair, squinting his eyes.
When did Harry dare speak to him like this? Oh, right, I'm Dumbledore now, so it's fine?
Harry shivered and felt a little uneasy as if something terrifying was trying to attack him.
It felt like Arthur was about to tease him, as he had done before. But the feeling came and went quickly, and Harry didn't take it seriously.
Just a moment ago, Harry and Sirius Black had come to Dumbledore's office.
Harry had said that he wanted to live with Sirius for the next semester.
This was something they didn't need to discuss with Dumbledore, but because he had put Harry with the Dursleys, Sirius decided to inform Dumbledore.
Unexpectedly, they received a negative answer from Dumbledore.
"Professor, the Dursleys are Muggles, and they are extremely... extremely unfriendly to me. I feel it would be more suitable for me to live with Sirius."
Harry patiently explained the reasons. He thought Dumbledore might be concerned that Sirius couldn't take care of him properly.
Sirius had the same idea.
"Headmaster, I will take good care of Harry. I haven't fulfilled my duty as his godfather all these years, and I hope you can give me a chance."
Listening to their conversation, Arthur felt something was a bit odd.
Why did it sound like he was trying to break up a couple rather than a father and son?
Shaking his head to dismiss these unreliable thoughts, Arthur explained the reasons to them.
"Sirius, before Lily died, she cast a spell that not only brought disaster to Voldemort but it also still protected Harry until now. This spell will only lose its effect when Harry becomes an adult."
Regarding Harry's safety, Arthur couldn't take any risks; otherwise, Dumbledore would be furious when he returned.
Moreover, this was not something Arthur made up; he truly felt a power emanating from Harry.
Lily's love created that power, which served as protection.
Arthur had encountered this kind of magic in the Restricted Section, but he had no intention of studying it.
He would rely on his own strength to protect everyone he cared about.
"Mom..."
Harry didn't expect there would be this reason behind it all. The scene shown to him by the Dementor appeared in his mind, and his eyes became wet.
Sirius also fell silent. He knew about Voldemort's creation of the Horcrux and that Voldemort hadn't died yet.
So, for Harry's safety, he could only accept it.
After a long time, Harry finally managed to calm his emotions. He took off his glasses and wiped his reddened eyes.
"Thank you, Professor. I will continue to live there until I turn adult."
Arthur secretly shook his head, thinking Harry was such a silly boy.
Why couldn't he come up with a solution?
"Harry, I only said you couldn't live with Sirius, but that doesn't mean he can't visit you."
Hearing Arthur say this, both of them looked at him with hope in their eyes.
"Sirius can buy a house near your home. You can stay with him most of the time and go back to your own house every night."
Arthur gave Harry an idea.
Sirius was happy upon hearing this.
"I'll go to Privet Drive and buy a house. Harry, after the holidays, we'll renovate the house together."
But Harry hesitated, "Sirius, wouldn't that be too wasteful? Don't you have your own house?"
Sirius waved his hand casually.
As the only legitimate heir of a wealthy Black family, owning a house was not a big deal to him.
One property was nothing for a rich family like his.
After hearing Sirius's explanation, Harry felt relieved and smiled happily.
Once the matter was settled, Sirius asked Harry to leave first, as he wanted to speak with Dumbledore alone.
After Harry left, only Sirius and Arthur were left in the room.
"Headmaster,"
Sirius looked conflicted, "I wonder, what do you think of Arthur Gaunt?"
Arthur was taken aback. He didn't expect it to be related to himself.
"He is a good kid."
Without hesitation, Arthur began praising himself, going on for three full minutes. Even the portraits of past headmasters on the wall couldn't bear to listen anymore.
Finally, he stopped.
Sirius was somewhat puzzled.
Did Dumbledore really have such a good impression of Arthur?
He wasn't sure whether to tell Dumbledore or not.
Arthur understood what Sirius wanted to do; he just wanted to report him to the real Dumbledore.
"Sirius, if there's anything, you can wait until the last day of the semester to tell me."
Dumbledore had sent a letter saying he would return on the last day of the semester to attend the closing ceremony.
Sirius could talk to the real Dumbledore then.
Arthur wasn't worried at all about his mission to collect Horcrux being exposed.
After all, he wasn't creating Horcrux; he was destroying them.
Dumbledore wouldn't do anything to him.
Upon hearing Arthur's words, Sirius nodded, showing that he understood.
Once Sirius left, Arthur returned to his usual appearance.
He counted the days and realized he could visit Ravenclaw tomorrow. Arthur had already decided in his heart.
He wanted to recruit Ravenclaw to join the Room of Requirement.
Of course, it was only his personal idea, and whether Ravenclaw agreed or not was another matter.
The knowledge Ravenclaw had was very tempting for Arthur.
He had enough power and equipment; what he lacked was depth of knowledge.
If he had Ravenclaw's assistance, his collection of knowledge would be much faster.
