Halloween

Two weeks, just two weeks later the teachers gather around for something that some may call a little unethical but to the headmaster, Dumbldedore, was just a little bit of something necessary, just so that the next generations of wizards would not fall to the dark side.

Even though this is the purpose, the professors do not call out behaviors that may indicate influence by dark magic, instead they just gather around and talk a bit about how the students of each year have been holding up, and how much potential do they see in each one, they had almost completed this actually, there was just one year left to talk about, the first years.

Dumbledore looked excitedly at all the professors that were around and gestured to them to begin.

Surprisingly they looked excited, normally the first years were the least exciting ones, even though they were fresh blood, the newbies, what they learn in the first two weeks isn't really hard, so they mostly talk about how they do in the theoretical part, not the practical.

"How about we start with Harry Potter, how is he adapting at Hogwarts?" Dumbledore asked.

"He looks like he is holding up alright" Mcgonagall started "But his transfiguration is nothing like his fathers, but he seems decent"

"He is arrogant and not willing to listen" Snape added "Just like his father"

"He se-se-seems to understand the material very well" Quirrell said.

"He is alright with the plants but doesn't seem to understand the theoretical" Sprout mentioned

"How about any rising stars?" Dumbledore said this was his favorite part, to hear about the youth who are talented, and to help them grow as much as they can.

"Well Mr Reige is certainly the most talented student I have seen" Mcgonagall said, not beating around the bush.

Dumbledore looked at her surprised, and tried to remember that student.

Oh yes, a muggle born orphan. That sounds great.

"Oh yes Mr Reige is also one of the most talented students I had" Flitwick said grinning, clearly enjoying the possibility to talk about the student "I mean, the sheer curiosity and talent he has is commendable, I have never seen a student quite like that walk down the aisles of Hogwarts."

Dumbledore raised an eyebrow but didn't quite say anything, just listened on the conversation, trying to gauge how talented Connor Reige actually was.

"I must say he doesn't seem to pay any attention to my class" Bins added with a scowl "He simply writes in that horrible writing of his, stupid magic ideas, it's simply despisable, he is not even doing homework while in my class"

Dumbledore did a relieved sigh in his mind, he was previously sounding a lot like another student he had taught, but it seems like they are not as similar as he thought them to be.

"He knows how to tend to plants perfectly, such a good listener" Sprout said, proud of having such a talented student.

"He-he-he is quite good" Quirrell said with his stutter.

The professors continued singing praises to Connor while Connor found himself in the library well after curfew.

Why was he there?

After reading the book of divination, he had found himself fascinated beyond what would be a normal reaction, so he has been trying to find another book just like that about divination, however, there seem to be none at Hogwarts.

Connor, now frustrated, having spent three hours checking the library decided to use one of the spells on the book.

Connor whipped out his wand and did two waves with it, and then dropped it down while muttering. "Exaudi me"

As soon as he put the wand down he asked "Are there any other books about old divination in this room"

The tip of the wand moved around from north to south.

"Fuck" He muttered and got away from the library and headed back to his common room.

The spell he did right there was a rare spell of divination that took a lot of concentration and power, but mostly, it was never guaranteed to be true what the spell said, as any ward or trickery can easily fool the spell.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Connor woke up and looked at the calendar right to his left, October 31 the day everything starts to go to utter shit.

Should he deal with a fucking troll, or not. Huh, a question for he of the future, right now he has to go to breakfast.

The more time passed the more, anxious he was getting and right now he was at his fucking breaking point in a joint class between all four houses in Charms, his last class of the day.

They were learning a new spell, the levitation spell, which to him was completely useless, I mean his mutation is well over whatever the max of the spell is.

He shouldn't for any reason be this, unwell, about everything however his mood was shifting every second and he didn't have a clear answer as to why.

The whole charade of Ron and Hermione happened and when the class finished he heard Ron insulting her.

And something happened that he had tried to keep under control.

His mutation.

It simply pushed Ron a little bit, but it was clear that this was something that needed fixing.

For whatever reason his emotions were going haywire and his mutation too.

He quickly gathered his wits and ran straight to the Room of Requirements.

As he arrived, he simply stated in his own mind "Give me a solution" three times.

A door appeared on the wall and he entered only to find a dummy, just that, made of what he guessed was a strong material.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT, THAT'S NOT A SOLUTION" He yelled at the room, quite mad, his mutation leaking as red smoke.

The dummy just stood there, looking right at him, like it was better than him.

How dare it, look at him like that, like Connor was clearly superior.

All of the leakage from his mutation gathered around his palm and he just closed it and the dummy exploded.

He laughed, hard, feeling better, but a few seconds later he heard a metalic sound, like something fell.

He looked up and again there was the same dummy, staring at him daring him to be better, and god damit was he better than it.

It took him a few hours but now he felt very tired, and relieved?

Maybe, maybe his mutation was affecting his mental health, maybe not using it was I mean.

Just maybe it was the fact that since he used it to get past the sorting hat, not using it made him feel all assholey but now he felt relaxed and very, very sweaty.

Connor took out his wand and casted a quick tempus, only to realize he was missing the feast.

Connor got out of the Room of Requirements and went down to the feast, and along the way he found a very panicked Cedric.

"MATE, where were you?"

"I just, was" He tried coming up with an excuse but he knew better than to do that.

"I was looking for you everywhere, just tell me later about this first we need to get to the common room, there is a troll running around."

As Cedric was speaking he was being guided through the halls and to be honest, Cedric looked absolutely pissed, but very much so.

After a few minutes Cedric turned around a corner, and before Connor could follow him, Cedric came back from the corner and grabbed his hand and ran.

Which in his mind would mean one thing.

Cedric saw the troll.

They tried to run but the troll was much faster, quickly coming from the corner and almost reaching them.

"Would you promise to not tell anyone?" Connor muttered.

Cedric looked at him scared but nodded.

Connor turned around as red gassy energy gathered around his palm, and he threw it right to the troll's face.

In just under a second the back of the troll's head exploited in a very gross mess.

Cedric stared at him for a second and then shouted.

"What the fuck!"
