Chapter 37 : Philosopher's Stone 2

Orion found himself tangled by the Devil's snare (A deadly plant which is afraid of sunlight), this was the first obstacle that Dumbledore set up for the Golden Trio.

"Although you can just stay still and get out of here, this could be a good chance to test out magic," Merlin from the side said, he was able to float like a ghost and didn't even touch the ugly plant, not like he can touch the plant.

"Well I guess it doesn't hurt to test out," Orion said and with a little difficulty took out his wand. 

"Lumos Solem," Orion never practised this particular spell but it was similar to Lumos and he did it on his first try.

The dark room brightened up with dazzling light as if the sun rised for the first time appeared in the place, Orion instantly noticed the tight grip which the devil's Snare had on him and started to lose.

'Thud,' with a perfect landing, Orion looked up and hoped that this plant get back acting as a net by the time the trio arrived, otherwise, they were in for a bad fall.

The next room was full of flying keys and Orion instantly remembered this in the movies. But the cheat character decided to not go after the keys themselves but absorb all the magic from the locked door and then simply use 'Alohomora' to open up the door.

"Cheats are the best," Orion commented while moving towards the next test, Merlin just rolled his eyes at this.

Then Orion saw the famous chess room. A groan escaped his lips as he was never that good at chess.

"I dont think so that I can draw magic from the entire room on time," Orion muttered already putting a cross on that option.

"Just beat the game," Merlin said like it was no big deal.

"Yeah I never thought about it, of course, I am supposed to beat the game, silly me." Orion sarcastic remark made Merlin chuckle, of course, he could tell what Orion was thinking. He just smiled and said.

"Don't worry, I am quite good at chess. Just do what I tell you," Orion was sceptical but did it anyway.

8 Minutes later,

"We really won," Orion was baffled, Merlin really was a good player but then he applied logic that back in his time he shouldn't have much to entertain himself and thus he practised quite a lot. In fact, the person who won the game in the cannon was Ron who too was good in chess because he didn't have anything else to play with.

"Alright next room," Orion cheered up and went on, but surprisingly the next room was completely empty, he even thought that he had come to the wrong room and went back to check but no.

"I believe that this was the place where that Troll which you killed was kept," Merlin seeing Orion's confusion gave his two cents and Orion connected the dots, " So here that Troll was kept huh," Orion didn't give too much thought and went to the next Room.

In the next room, there was a puzzle waiting for Orion.

"Huh, more tests," Orion signed with exaggeration.

Nick in the end couldn't find a way to remove the ward placed there on by Dumbledore, so the only thing he could do now was to wait until Dumbledore went out of the Castle and then make his move.

He finally got his chance, so unknown to anyone else, he got out of his dorm and rushed towards the third-floor corridor, but unknown to him, someone watched him going out, the person in the shadow narrowed his eyes but after contemplating a little, decided not to follow.

By the time he reached the third-floor corridor, he found someone there, this someone was none other than Quirrell, he finally got an escape from Snape and could come here.

"Avra Kedavra," Without even thinking much, Nick took out his Elden wand which he always keeps hidden and attacked Quirrell.

Although Quirrell was an average wizard, Voldy was different, he immediately took control of Quirrell's body and dodged the incoming attack.

All three of them looked stunned, Voldemort in control of Quirrell's body took out their wand and stood ready to fight, maybe his power was no better than a third-rate wizard like Quirrell but he still was the dark lord.

Nick though didn't look afraid. He almost looked like he was expecting this.

"Who are you boy," Voldemort asked, he actually knew who Nick was.

He used Legilimency on almost all the students who studied under Quirrell. Even Orion was no exception but thanks to his Occulumency technique which only stopped the attack to read specific memories. He was saved.

Nick was the only person who person whose memories he wasn't able to read. He wanted to bring this Slytherin boy to his side but after knowing that he is a Muggle Born he didn't.

The situation immediately became tense as a fight was about to start between Nick and Voldemort.

Orion finally arrived at the place where the stone was kept. He looked at the beautiful mirror and definitely not the NSFW content his heart was displaying on it.

"So how are you going to take the stone out," Orion was a little curious about it. Merlin said that he had a way.

"I have a way but you can't do that here, for the time being just put the entire mirror in the pendant, we will take care of the stone later on," Merlin said and Orion became baffled.

He knew that his pendant was a storage device but could it really store such a big mirror? Well, he gave it a try anyway and the Mirror really went inside the pendant.

"Well then, I guess it's time to get out of here,"
