Chance of a new life
Su Yan, an office worker, was getting late for work. She had just learned to adapt to her useless life since her entire family died in poverty. She would probably die in poverty too. Probably.
Su Yan was already on her last warning. She always got late to work. Her entire salary is used to cover the her family's debts. That's why she doesn't have any money to get a cab and her house is on the other side of the city.
Getting to work, she saw the security guard waiting for her at the entrance of the building. She almost stopped in her tracks when she saw him but she gathered all the confidence in her and approached him.
"Good morning" she said and tried to walk past him. He pulled her back by the arm and she almost flew with the wind. Why were guards so strong?
"I'm afraid I can't let you in. Boss said to give you this". He gave her a box containing the things she brought with her on her first day there. "Boss also said you have to pay him back his money"
"Okay" Su Yan said and took the box from him with tears in her eyes threatening to fall.
Su Yan turned her back against the building and walked away. Her mind became foggy, what would she do now. She has no family, no money and she just lost her job. Her whole life was trash.
She went to a secluded area in the city, there was no one there. The entire place was deserted with no grassland. There was a storm coming. A perfect timing for her to pour her heart out.
"What is this? Do I deserve this? I have a miserable life" Su Yan began to scream at the world. "My father, an influential man in the city,. went bankrupt and had a lot of debts. He died trying to cover it all up. My mother she got arrested by goons and flogged to death. My siblings, they died because we had nothing to eat. Why? Why did I have to survive and live in this treacherous world" Lightening strikes "Why? Just kill me if you will, I don't want this kind of life. You stupid shitty world. Do your worst"
Lightening strikes her chest and she died on spot.

Thunder claps. There was a storm. Li Yue was running from a group of assassins. She was holding the priceless box of the Tang clan. She was suppose to get married to the third prince as well so that the third prince will gain the favour of the Lis. This was the plan of the Empress Dowager.
Li Yue stopped running when she reached the edge of a cliff. At the end of the cliff was a lake. The lake was two miles away from the third prince's secret house.
Li Yue studied the problem in front of her, she knew there was no way out. She was already drenched by the rain and she was freezing cold. The assassins began to close in on her. She knew there was only one thing to do.
"If I fail to protect this box, I would be a failure protector". She went backwards and down she fell into the lake. She quickly went to the depth of the lake and dug it deep. With her last breath she buried the box and died at the bottom of the lake.
The assassins ran off when they saw the royal guards outnumbering them. They quickly went to the bottom of the cliff in search of Li Yue.

Su Yan woke up devastated. She had a horrible headache. She got off her bed with her eyes still very foggy. She went into the bathroom ; with her eyes closed and her hand on her head to the a shower. She took off her dress... her dress... dress. She opened her eyes and looked around her. She saw a guy staring at her. She was completely naked in front of him. Su Yan screamed and covered herself with his blanket.
"Who are you? Where am I?" She looked around again
"You are in my vacation house and in my room. You should thank me for saving you, Li Yue" The guy said
"Li Yue. Who's Li Yue? I'm Su Yan"
"Get out and get dressed. Your parents are on their way to pick you up. We are not suppose to see each other before the wedding. I will head back to the palace" The guy stood up and left, just like that.
Su Yan was confused. What wedding? Was she getting married? Her parents? Her parents died long ago. Didn't she die too? This is not making any sense to her.
Su Yan looked all over the room for a mirror. She went back to the room she came out of and found one. She looked at herself in it. She wasn't herself
"Am I really Li Yue? I have reincarnated into this girl. The world gave me another life. I don't want to get married yet. Wow, I'm so beautiful" She kept looking at herself "I don't have to pay debts anymore. But why do I have to come to the past? There are no tech here. It doesn't matter. I'm free" She twirled around naked in the blanket
"I will live this life as Li Yue and I will live it properly"
"Li Yue" Her parents came to hug her
"With parents" she concluded. "Mom and dad"
"Li Yue, you're alive" Her father said
"Thanks to our future son-in-law, she's still breathing" Her mother said and they withdrew the hug
"Get dressed. We can not be late for the wedding. We must not keep the royal family waiting"
"Am I marrying a prince?" Li Yue asked
Her parents burst out laughing. "You are marrying the third prince, silly. Stop joking around. Find something to wear now. We can not stay in the third prince's abode for too long. Go now"
Li Yue went back to the guy's room and wore her dress. She came back out and went with her parents to their carriage. She had a new life, new parents who care about her, she was getting married to the third prince, they had a carriage and beautiful dresses like the ones in the ancient dramas she had watched. it's a good thing though. Thanks to those dramas, she knew the etiquette used in this world. Yes!
