A New Life

Stella had never been good at holding back regarding her son.

Considering she had spent his childhood in fear and running away from her problems, she felt that she was a terrible mother to him and often made up for it by giving him extravagant gifts.

With the arrival of her first grandchild around the corner, Stella continued going overboard. Luca and Sophia had constant packages sent to their house despite how inconvenient it was to get them there.

Luca would call his mother and tell her it was enough but she would always say that it was their choice what they wanted to do with it so she washed her hands of the blame.

Sophia was over eight months along and they were completing the finishing touches of the nursery situated across the hallway from their room. There was also a bassinet, changing station, and rocking chair in the master bedroom for the early days.
