Ch-9 < Clearing Nagazora >

Kevin advanced and casually decapitated two zombies with his sword.

He paused for a moment, contemplating his approach. "Should I use my physical strength instead?" he mused.

The zombies before him were not his match. Deciding to test his newfound power, he sheathed his sword.

He punched a nearby zombie, and the force sent it flying away, crashing through a dilapidated wall. "My strength has increased so much," Kevin thought, a sense of exhilaration washing over him.

With blinding speed, Kevin slammed another zombie by its neck into the ground. Another zombie lunged at him, its teeth bared, but Kevin activated his body armor. A black shell materialized on his arm, effortlessly blocking the attack. With a powerful roundhouse kick, he sent the zombie's head bursting apart, the force of the blow sending several other zombies flying as well.

The ground was soon littered with their bodies as he pressed on, methodically clearing the area bit by bit. Just as he was catching his breath, something unexpected happened.

He heard a swoosh and dodged, narrowly avoiding a blade-like appendage that had sliced through the air behind him.

Kevin turned to see a zombie that was unlike any he had encountered before. Its skin was a deep blue, its eyes a glowing green, and its arms had morphed into deadly blades. The creature advanced towards him, its movements fluid and precise.

It slashed at Kevin with its bladed arm, but Kevin blocked the attack effortlessly with his thumb and index finger. With a powerful uppercut, he sent the zombie soaring into the sky. As it flew upwards, Kevin's senses detected more incoming threats.

From the shadows emerged five Storm Templars, their lances gleaming ominously. They raised their weapons and charged at Kevin.

Reacting quickly, Kevin activated his forcefield, blocking their coordinated assault. Drawing his sword, he moved with lethal precision, cutting the Templars into pieces with a series of swift, deadly strikes.

As he finished off the last of the Templars, Kevin put one their remains into his system bin.

A notification appeared in his field of vision: "Host acquired lightning manipulation."

The news excited him, knowing it would be a valuable asset in future battles.

Days passed as Kevin methodically hunted down and eliminated every Honkai beast in the eastern district of Nagazora.

The once infested area slowly became a safer zone under his relentless efforts. His system rewarded him with 5,000 points for his achievements.

Throughout his mission, Kevin fought tirelessly, facing numerous Honkai beasts of various forms and strengths. He easily dispatched various honkai beast.

One particularly fierce encounter involved a monstrous creature with multiple limbs and regenerative abilities. Kevin used his newfound lightning manipulation to electrify the beast, stunning it long enough to deliver a fatal blow.

During one especially intense skirmish, Kevin was surrounded by the dog-like Honkai beasts. They moved with terrifying speed, their snarls filling the air as they circled him. He focused, summoning his lightning manipulation to form a blade of crackling energy in his hand. As the first creature lunged, Kevin swung the lightning blade, slicing it cleanly in half with a single strike. The bisected halves fell to the ground, twitching as the electrical charge coursed through them.

Another beast leapt at him from behind, but Kevin spun around, the lightning blade cutting through its torso with ease. He moved like a whirlwind, each strike precise and deadly. The remaining creatures hesitated, sensing the danger, but their instincts pushed them forward. Kevin continued his assault, cutting through them with fluid movements, the battlefield illuminated by the flashes of his blade.

As the last of the dog-like Honkai beasts fell, Kevin stood amidst the carnage.

He recieved Dash ability from this beast.

The ground was littered with their bodies, the smell of ozone mingling with the scent of decay. He pressed on, clearing the area bit by bit.

Finally, with the eastern district cleared, Kevin took a moment to rest. He climbed to the top of a partially collapsed building, surveying the area he had fought so hard to secure. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the ravaged landscape. He knew there was still much work to be done, but for now, he allowed himself a brief moment of satisfaction.

His thoughts drifted back to his friends and allies at the MOTH base.

Kevin made his way back to his bike, exhausted but triumphant. As he rode back to the MOTH base, he couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment.

Kevin returned to the MOTH base on his bike, the sound of the engine echoing through the compound. As he parked and dismounted, a group of soldiers gathered around him, eager to hear about his mission.

"So, did you clear the eastern district?" one soldier asked, his voice tinged with skepticism.

Kevin nodded. "All done. Cleared out every Honkai beast in the area."

The soldiers exchanged shocked glances. "You mean, you did it without any bombing? Just... by yourself?" another soldier inquired, disbelief evident in his tone.

"Yeah," Kevin replied simply. "Used my abilities to take them down."

The soldiers were stunned. They were used to relying on heavy artillery and bombing runs to clear out large infestations. The idea of one man accomplishing such a feat was almost unbelievable.

As Kevin made his way to the main building, he was greeted by Mobius. Her eyes lit up with a predatory gleam as she approached him.

"Good work, lab rat," she said, her voice dripping with satisfaction. "With this, the higher-ups might finally increase my budget and approve my genetic coding project if I tell them I modified you. That's why you're so strong."

She licked her lips like a snake, the gesture sending chills down Kevin's spine. "Thanks, I guess," Kevin replied, feeling uneasy under her gaze.

Before he could head to his quarters, Mei appeared and grabbed his arm. "Kevin, you need a physical checkup after a mission like that," she insisted, dragging him towards the medical wing.

In the examination room, doctors and Mei conducted a thorough checkup. To their amazement, there wasn't a single injury on Kevin's body. Mei's cheeks flushed as she observed his robust physique, trying to focus on the medical scan.

"How... how is this possible?" one of the doctors muttered, bewildered. "You should at least have some bruises."

Mei, still blushing, looked up at Kevin. "You've always been strong, but this... this is incredible."

Kevin shrugged modestly. "Guess I just got lucky."

Finally, after the checkup, Kevin dragged his exhausted body to his room. The toll of the battle and the depletion of his Honkai reserve left him feeling drained. As he collapsed onto his bed, his thoughts drifted to the future battles he would face and the friends he fought to protect.

In the morning, Kevin woke up feeling surprisingly refreshed. He stretched his muscles and headed to the bathroom for a cold shower. The icy water helped wake him up fully, invigorating his senses. After brushing his teeth and washing his face, he grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down, focusing on his system interface.

<< System has

1. Status

2. Inventory

3. Travel - locked

4. Skill bank

5. Shop < only provide basic skills >

6. Special special features

* Mimicry - can copy abilities to others using samples (upgradable) - 100k points

* Kevin Template - 2%

* Protection - Acausality (Type 1 to Type 4)

Points - 15K >>

Kevin examined the functions of the system. He noticed that there was no option to upgrade his stats directly, and the shop offered only basic skills, none of which seemed overpowered.

He scanned through the list of skills available for purchase. Most of them seemed trivial or of limited utility, but a few caught his eye:

* Abnormal Immunity - Immunity to all negative status effects - 10k points

* Stealth - Enables temporary invisibility - 5k points

* Burst - Increases speed by 25% - 2k points

* Critical Strike - Allows user to strike vital points more effectively - 15k points

As he continued browsing, he stumbled upon a peculiar skill:

* Craving Touch - Gives pleasure to whatever is touched to the opposite gender - 5k points

Kevin chuckled at the description. "This could be interesting," he thought, imagining Elysia's reaction.

After some contemplation, he decided to purchase two skills that stood out to him the most: Abnormal Immunity and Craving Touch.

He knew that immunity to negative status effects would be invaluable in combat, and the other skill, well, it might come in handy in less conventional ways.

Kevin confirmed his purchases and watched as his points decreased from 15k to zero. He felt a slight tingling sensation as the new abilities integrated into his being.

"Alright, let's see what these can do," he mused. "Abnormal Immunity will definitely give me an edge in battles. As for Craving Touch... I guess we'll see how that plays out."

He took another sip of his coffee. The system's features were intriguing, especially the Mimicry ability and the various types of acausality protection. However, those upgrades were still a long way off, considering the high point costs involved.

Kevin's thoughts drifted to Elysia. "I wonder how she's doing. Maybe I'll get a chance to use Craving Touch on her," he smirked, imagining her reaction to the ability.
