I think it's time...

Thallan had waited outside the palace's gates for nearly two hours before a steward came to report to him that the King will not see him today.

Utterly embarrassed, to be turned away by his father at the gates. Thallan had no other choice, but to return to his palace. 

When news had broke that the Amara clan had perished, Thallan didn't feel much of anything, except to seek any riches left after the estate fire. Since he has the last two survivors of the clan as his wives, it would be right that anything left would go to them (him).

Thallan didn't even tell his wives the news of their father's clan death before immediately sending his people secure the estate in his wives' names.

However, much to his surprise, the King left him no room to operate his greedy plan.

Rychell's guards turned Thallan's soldiers away and back home to their master with their tails between their legs.
