Robin Williams, the funniest person in Hollywood who could cheer everyone up, even in their most depressing times, was sitting beside him all the time. For God's sake, he only wore sunglasses to cover his face.

How could he not recognize him? He had watched almost all of his movies, even the worst ones 'cause it was one of his childhood memories, especially when he voiced 'Genie' in the Aladdin cartoon, sorry Will Smith fans, but he could never beat Robin Williams.

Al tried miserably to suppress his excitement, although he had played few movies as the leading actor, he wasn't that famous yet or entered A-list actor, so if he was fanboying over him now would make him suspicious, he needs to play cool.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Williams, if it wasn't for you, I would be hated by that stewardess by now, also, call me Al, like everyone else."

He just laughed it and said, "Nonsense Al, did you realize the girl gave a sign to you, damn boy, if I were you, I would ask her for dinner after we land. Of course, I wouldn't because I have a wife waiting for me at home."

Al raised a brow at him as if didn't believe it, he also made a face to convince him that he was telling the truth, and a few seconds later they finally laughed it up together.

He gave out his hand and said, "Oh please call me Robin or just Rob is fine." Both of them shook hands and Robin started the conversation with him.

His conversation with him was delightful. He told Al that he was also an actor but only played a few leading roles and some supporting roles.

But the starting point of his career was, as a stand-up comedian who began his career at a workshop at the basement of the church.

He showed Al how talented he was, from giving him tips to become a comic on the stand-up comedy, doing mime, vocal tone tips and both of them also discussed about the acting together.

After having a conversation with him, Robin Williams finally fully understood that this kid is a monster. At 15 years old, he already had an understanding of acting as much as him, and he guessed that Al was born to be an actor.

But he also realized that this boy not only a good actor but also able to direct a film and sing. He was born to be an entertainer!

He also told Al that the first big-screen debut was him playing Popeye live-action movie.

"Seriously? Omigawd, I watched it many times, but what I didn't realize is that it was you who played Popeye!" But in his mind he thought, 'Just kidding, I knew it was you, but I didn't realize it before IMDB was a thing.'

"I love to watch it, especially when you singing Popeye the Sailorman, you could voice how Popeye was the same as they did it in the cartoon."

Robin smiled after he was praised by him, "Well kid, this was your lucky day, I'm gonna sing it now, do you want to join me?"

Al opened his mouth widely, "You kidding? Of course, I would love to join you."

He stood up from his seat and moved to the aisle. He then started to sing the intro, everyone on the plane was looking at them both.

He swung his arm like he was Popeye, hoarse his voice and sang,

"[I'm Popeye the Sailorman. I'm Popeye the Sailorman]"

Then he pointed to Al to continue the lyrics. Al also made Popeye gesture and hoarse his voice.

"[I'm strong to the finich, cause I eats me spinach.]"

Both of them singing in harmony and everyone who was looking at them weirdly before started to clapped their hands and joined the fun.

And finally, everyone on the plane was singing along with them, not only that, but Robin also doing stand-up comedy and Al also made his debut doing it on 41,000 ft.

Their fun turned into chaos as they made so many ruckuses and one passenger complained to the stewardess, but they didn't stop it, because everyone else also had fun with them.

Unfortunately, this one person was a rotten politician who got so much connection, so his complaint got more attention than everyone else. Al didn't get his name but sure he captured how his face looked like, Al thought he had a punchable face.

Since that day, they both were banned from every United Airlines flight, until one day Al owned them.

~~~
The flight to Chicago was unexpectedly fun with Robin Williams on board. Both of them parted ways and Al invited him to visit the set. Robin Williams just said he would like to, but don't expect him to show up because he had a family to take care of.
He then went to one of the hotels in Chicago, it was located near the set. The shooting would begin tomorrow, but he was curious about the shooting location so he would visit it this day.
When he arrived on the set, he met with John Hughes and Tom Jacobson.
They would shoot the high school scene on Maine North High School. Because it was still a summer holiday, they would need to hire a lot of background actors/actresses to create a high school environment.
John Hughes was surprised after he saw Al was visiting the set the day before the shooting began. What's more, he only had one scene on it, which was when he picking up Ferris's girlfriend.
"Alphonse!? What a surprise, you came here a day before."
"Hello John, I wanted to see the set. As you know, I am also a director so I'm curious. I'm sorry if it is bothering you, is this not the right time?"
"No Al, I even glad you came here, usually well, someone in your position wouldn't be bothered to come here."
"I try not to get it over my head, and I don't like making myself looked like a diva." Al suddenly remembered a diva with a dolphin voice who had ridiculous requirements every time going outside and even had an assistant with one single job like holding a straw for drinking.
John then gave him a tour of the high school, he also took Al to the downtown area of Chicago where the most of film scene would be shot.
Too bad he didn't see everyone else from the cast, especially Kris, he only saw the crews setting up the set.
So after checking out everything, he went back to the hotel and had a rest because the jet lag finally took a toll on him.
The next morning, finally the shooting for <Ferris Bueller's Day Off> began.
As the shooting went by, the conflict he predicted wasn't happening at all. Tom Jacobson just informed them that Charlie Sheen made last-minute contact with the executive producer that he was unwilling to be on the set together with Alphonse Brandt.
This news threw a curveball on them, Tom Jacobson sighed loudly because he needs to replan the shooting schedule.
Tom couldn't do anything, although Charlie Sheen was only supporting role, Sheen's name was a special case in Hollywood. Why he changed the decision was unknown to everyone.
So, without a head, the Alphonse-hater faction was without vigor and only Jeniffer Grey showed hostility to him, so days passed without any problem at all which to Al's pity.
Al also saw a face he really adored...ehm, he meant familiar with, it was Kristy Swanson, who always blushed every time he talked to her.
Everybody in the set also saw them together occasionally outside of the shooting hour and sometimes flirted with her, so anyone who wanted to hit on her was backing down.
Too bad she only had one scene and left after a week of shooting.
Some scenes were decided to put to hold and would be shot in a studio in Los Angeles, which is the scenes in Bueller's home.
Fortunately, it was only Al's scene alone monologuing, so the preparation would be fast and easy.
As the shooting went by, John Hughes and everyone else on the set was impressed with his acting talent, there were only a few NG's (No Good), so the shooting was done faster than what they have re-planned. Is this kid really 15 years old?
Some people who held a grudge because he replaced Matthew Broderick, were changing their attitudes. Al was easy to befriend, funny, charming, and well-liked.
Jeffrey Jones, whose role was antagonist teacher was impressed by him, although their rivalries only had a few scenes.
As for Alan Ruck and Mia Sara, they already liked Al when they did table-read.
Then there was a scene, where everybody was waiting for. They finally would watch Al's on-screen first kiss.
Maybe for adults, the kissing scene was just an ordinary scene, but for child or teen actors, it was a big thing.
"Come on guys! Don't make a fuss, and Jessie, why the hell you had a camera?"
"Duh, it's for your Mom of course." After Jessica said that, everyone was laughing while Al facepalmed.
Mia Sara, as his on-screen partner smiled at him, Al was wearing a trench coat stood in the school front yard.
John Hughes after checking everything was right and shouted, "Action!!"
Sloane Peterson, played by Mia approached Ferris Bueller and kissed him passionately, they even used tongue on it.
Few moments passed and everyone screamed inside their hearts. For Mia, she was carried away while doing it. He was so damn good at kissing, who told her that she would be the one who leads it, she was totally overwhelmed by him, even she enjoyed doing it.
The kiss scene ended although she was still reluctant to part with that hot sexy lip and a strong smell of his.
"Cut!" After John said it, the cheer was heard from the crews and shutter sound from Jessica.
Mia looked at him and smirked, "Not bad for a kid."
"Oh really? We have at least dozens of scenes where we are going to kiss and I'll make sure you will be addicted to mine." He smiled smugly.
She smiled teasingly and turned her back on him and walked away to the filming crew, and Al shook his head when seeing her distancing away from him.
~~~

"Come on everyone! Hurry up, we only had one day, no repetition! This scene must succeed!" John Hughes screamed using a megaphone. Everyone could feel John Hughes's worry.

Of course, who wasn't, John Hughes planned to shoot when the actual parade was held!

Almost everyone from Chicago came to watch this parade, and John Hughes got permission from Chicago City Mayor to shoot here.

After Tom Jacobson replanned the shooting, the filming that should take 2 months extended to 2 or 3 weeks more. Fortunately, they were able to catch up with the schedule and shot the parade scene on Saturday, 11th September.

This parade was called Baron Von Steuben Parade. Al even saw Robin Williams with his family, and as promised, he gave him a tour of the set.

So after preparation was completed and a few takes later, they almost reached the end of the shooting for this location.

"Cut! Now Al, do you want to sing directly or using recording?" John Hughes offered.

He smirked, "Yes."

From what Al read, this is where Ferris would sing on the parade to convince Cameron.

He got up to the float (decorated platform vehicle for the parade) and there he was greeted with girls who wore sexy German traditional outfits.

"Action!" He heard John Hughes shouted.

'Twist and Shout' song opening was heard, this scene was so hard because it involved almost hundreds of people doing dance choreography.

Al continued to sing the song and the parade heated. John Hughes ordered one of the cameramen to shoot everyone in the parade, include a non-casts audience to give the film audience sense of reality.

After the song finished, John Hughes stopped the filming and let everyone enjoyed the parade, then suddenly another song was heard.

Al shook his head, he didn't know who was the DJ is, but he definitely knew who Al was.

Everybody knew this song because the one who sang the song was on the float right now. Yep, the "Don't Look Back In Anger" song was played.

Everybody shouted "sing, sing, sing" and made him embarrassed, so Al decided to reciprocate their demand

He also took John Hughes, Mia Sara, and Alan Ruck to join him at the float and singing along with him.

The next day, the news of him singing for the parade of Von Steuben was filled the headlines in almost newspaper in the States.
