CHAPTER 5

Fear overwhelmed her. As a mother, it is the biggest fear when anything bad happen to your child. The second an unknown man called her, told her that her baby got into an unfortunate event, she felt that a thunder stroked right at her, killing her soul. She had been worrying about her daughter since she received the call. As soon as she arrived at the hospital, she rushed to the counter and asked about her daughter. Just then, she rushed to ER, (Emergency Room) and started looking for Aqasha. She then found her daughter being carried away from OR,(Operation Room) followed by a few police officers. She ran towards Aqasha but was stopped by her husband.

"Slow down. I know you're worried but let them take care of her first."

"No way! I want to know her conditions now! It's her birthday. She was supposed to be celebrating, not dying!"

She started crying and caused a scene. A police officer noticed and went to meet them.

"Excuse me ma'am, are you the parents of the victim?" He guessed.

"Yes, what exactly happen to our daughter?" The father asked.

"Well sir, we actually got a call from a netizen who found your daughter near a bridge at the national park. It looks like she was stabbed everywhere. Well, I'm just a police officer and not a detective, but I could tell somebody wanted to kill her. All I can say is, she fought for her life sir, ma'am. Other person would have died after losing that much blood, but your daughter still breathing."

Aqasha's mother was still sobbing while her dad kept silence. Realizing the gloomy atmosphere, the officer continued.

"Sir, ma'am, I know I have no right to say this but, your daughter is strong. She faced a huge accident that maybe would change her but she is strong that she still wants to live. I hope by saying this to you could make you calm a bit."

The officer scratched the back of his head and started walking when the mother stopped him.

"Thank... you..." She said, then continued crying.

Aqasha was laying on the hospital bed, looked exactly like a person who was sound asleep, too peacefully that she could be mistaken as dead, as her chest was moving up and down very slowly, people thought she died. Besides the bed, her mother was sitting on a chair while holding her hand tightly, with teary eyes. Her father was nowhere to be seen. She was just being moved to the ordinary ward from ICU (Intensive Care Unit) after the doctor gave all his blood, sweat, and tears to save her. She was still bawling her eyes out when suddenly, a black smoke appears out of nowhere, surrounding Aqasha's whole body. Just then her very low heart rate went to normal and her slow breathing became faster and all her wound disappeared. The most surprising part was that all her wounds were gone. She called the doctor as fast as she could and got her to check Aqasha. The doctor herself was in shook as she never encounters this kind of scene. Only one solution for this and she made up her mind.

" I think your daughter just got awakened." She touched her glasses slightly.

The fact that Aqasha got awakened really shocked her up. Aqasha failed the entrance exam but now she got awakened? Even Qairah was just a normal warrior and still learning tricks. She looked at her daughter with sore eyes. She hold Aqasha's hands tightly and close her eyes.

"For now, we just need her to rest. Once she's awake, she can be discharged." The doctor told.

She nodded her head and the doctor walked away. Now, she started thinking about how to stop Aqasha from knowing that she had been awakened. It would become worst if she knows about it. She will go to the association and register to be a warrior! Even worse, she could suppress her sister and outshined her!

"You should have died!"

[A WEEK LATER]

At home, Aqasha did not speak to anyone. She had changed a lot after she woke up.

"The doctor said it may be the effect after being awakened but Aqasha seems to be depressed rather than an effect of being awakened." Qairah said to her father.

The three of them, including the mother were at the living room, discussing about Aqasha. Since they got back from the hospital a week ago, Aqasha locked herself up in the room, separating herself from her family. Her friends that knew about the incident called Qairah as her phone was broken, but Aqasha refused to talk to anyone. She would just shake her head and shut the door. When its night and Qairah went to the room to sleep, Aqasha would step out from the room and went out. When she asked her where she headed, Aqasha ignored her and told her to sleep first. Aqasha also being colder to the kids, and their parents. As for her, don't ask. She also never eat at home. She said she wasn't hungry but how can a human being survive without eating for a week!? More surprisingly, she noticed that Aqasha grew taller and thinner. She often wears hoody so she wasn't so sure but she was really worried about her lil sis. And not to mention, kinda afraid with the sudden attitude. Once, she forces Aqasha to talk to her. In return, Aqasha stared at both of her eyes like a death angel. Her eyes were bigger than she thought. In fact, she never knew that Aqasha's eyes were always that big. It looked sore and full of dark circle and almost pop out from the socket. She remembered that she was shivering and bawling when Aqasha suddenly pulled back her face and put on the hoody then walked out from the house. Simply said, she was terrified by her own little sister. The little sister that won't even pinch her no matter what she did. The little sister that was so kind and loving towards her. At that time, she realized that she had lost her little sister due to her stupidness for trusting a stranger.
