One year later

"Hey girl!! You turn 18 in a few months! Any idea how you want to celebrate?"

It had been just a few months from going to the club with Liv and she was anxious to bring me again, although I wasn't anxious to go back.

"I'm kind of booked with work and all. Still looking for a college to."

"Girl, you still working at that lame excuse for a coffee shop?"

"Yes. It pays good and when I go back to college the money is going to be helpful."

"Oh c'mon girl—"

"Sorry Liv. Hey I gotta go my shift starts soon."

I hung up on her so I didn't have to continue the pointless conversation we had weekly. I got into my work uniform and headed to work.

When I got to work the manager told me to hurry in getting orders ready as we were super busy today.

I got on my apron and immediately started on preparing the next customer's meal.

After a while another worker clocked in that works with the food so I moved up to cashier. A long line of customers walked in the door right as I switched to be up front.

My manager then peeked her head out from the back and said," Kiara we need you on waitress duty!"

Quickly finishing the next customers I switched my coworker and started working the floor.

Later I took my break and the rest of my shift flew by. The next thing I knew I was helping the manager lock up shop.

"Sorry I kept you so long after, but I really appreciated the help. New hires don't really know to clean up after themselves or where things go."

"No problem, as long as I'm being paid overtime I don't mind."

"Hahaha, as long as you don't go over the weekly hours the boss has set in place I don't mind. Anyways, goodnight Kiara, see you tomorrow."

"Goodnight."

I turned around and started walking away from the shop. Bag in hand I reached for my phone to map out the fastest route to get home. It was close to midnight and I had never worked late enough that a taxi couldn't pick me up.

Once I got the route mapped out I headed home. The quickest way to get home was through some back streets of other shops near the coffee shop.

I started getting a feeling as if someone was following me. I thought I heard footsteps, and when I stopped they stopped. When I finally worked up the guts to turn around, I found no one there.

When I turned back around I walked right into something solid. Before I could hit the ground string arms were around me preventing me from not only falling, but moving in general. I was immobilized.

"Looks like boss will have at least one bitch to sell."

With those words I felt more strangers surround me. My survival instinct kicked in and I kicked the mans crotch that was holding me. I had to get away.

Adrenaline kicked in and I tried to calculate a way out. The men were closing in on me fast. I kicked the nearest one in the knee and then rammed into another with my shoulder.

Seeing as I lifted weights everyday, I wasn't a weak person. I saw an opening and I ran off. At this point I was super grateful for the running I had did in track because I was able to leave my pursuers in my dust.

But what I didn't know is someone had outsmarted me. As I turned a sharp corner I was quickly grabbed by someone much stronger than I was. He wrapped his arms around the front of my body and lifted me off the ground in a bone crushing hug.

With one of his hands he covered my nose and mouth with a handkerchief. I tried to hole my breathe for as long as I could while putting up a fight, but my sprinting had taken most of it out of me and left my lungs screaming for air.

I had to breathe and as I did I inhaled the chemicals of the drug in the handkerchief and lost consciousness almost immediately.
