CHAPTER 3

The nurse came out of operation theater. I looked up at her with a hope but till then I saw some sweet beads on her head. I thought something was serious and looked at her in a tense condition.

Mark: I hope Emma is all okay, isn't she? Why are you looking so tensed? Please say something.

Nurse: Sir please came down yourself. Please have some water.

[Mark takes a sip of water]

Mark: Now speak up.

Nurse: Actually Sir she is not well. Due to the accident she had got many internal damages. If you would not have brought her here on time she might have lost her life.

Mark: I hope she will recover. How long will it take for her recovery?

Nurse: Doctor is working for her. You need not worry. Maybe we will need to perform some surgeries. Now I will take your leave, sir.

Mark pov:

I started blaming myself for not being with Emma when I should have been . I failed in protecting her. I felt so guilty at that moment.

Doctor: There's a good news for you sir. Emma is safe now from all the risks she possessed. She will get her consciousness maybe in an hour or two.

Mark: Thank you so much sir for saving my Emma.

Doctor: As she is safe now I must suggest you to calm down yourself so that you will be able to take care of her as she will need that care.

Mark: Sure Doctor!

Mark pov:

In a course of few seconds all those tears got converted into smile. I felt like God blessed me with another life. I couldn't have been more happy than I was at that time. I was just waiting for the time to finish so that I could meet Emma.

Soon two hours had gone and my wait to meet Emma and talk to her in person finished. Doctor called me in and gave me some time to time to talk to her and calm her down from the sight of incident that took place some hours back.

I patiently opened the door room and went inside the hospital ward. Emma was petrified. I felt like it was the first time that she had seen blood. I went and sat next to her. At a blink of an eye she hugged me tightly.

Emma: Why did you leave me alone and go? That man he was so horrifying.

Mark: Don't panic Emma you need some rest now. The man who did this with you will be punished brutally , you don't need to worry about that. Just tell me how did that man look like.

Emma: I was not able to see his face as it was covered in a black cloth but ya I saw a gold bracelet in his hand with a red emerald on it.

A gold bracelet with a red emerald  I had seen it somewhere before...
