Not an ordinary one

Dominic couldn't fall asleep as his thought ran to the time when he had seen the jade necklace around Ava's neck shine. The neckpiece he had given to her wasn't an ordinary one. It was a protection pendant which Inari had given to him the day he had protected their land from the vampire's evil eyes.

She had blessed him with her protection shield that kept him away from the evil eyes.

His eyes looked down at Ava who clung on to him as she wrapped her hand around him firmly and slept. She was calm after struggling for a quite a long time to fall asleep.

"Why did it shine after all these days" he muttered as his hand went to brush Ava's hair and she snuggled closer to him falling back asleep.

He wanted to know and the person who was going to answer him was only Inari and no one else. She was the person who had given that pendant to him and only she knew the purpose of it. He was surely going to ask her and just waited for the next day to arrive.
