'You are not allowed to look at any of the royals in the eyes. You are below them so know your place'

'You must be discreet... nothing that happens in the four walls of this palace should leave here'

'You must serve the royals on time...the Queen for example has tea and biscuits during the day'

'You must be up early...by 3am every morning and must be the last to go to bed'

'At times you might need to work for the Queen at night,by fanning her or days she decides to have her mid-night baths'

'You are not to speak wether the royals are right or not...you are to obey and when asked a question nod yes and shake your head if no'

'And lastly there must be no complaint about you by your collics and superiors'

The old stern lady concludes.

She had been going on and on about rules the maids were to follow in the palace.

Here the maids were like slaves, it wasn't so in her palace...

"Yes.....?" Dodai asks raising her eyebrows.

"I am the head maid,You will address me as madam" She Scoffs.

Dodai nods wanting to get it over with soon she was taken by the guards to the maid quarters.

Gross.

The maids were treated like out casts here,their quarters were like dumps.

She wondered how she was going to survive before she found the answers she seeked for.

"uhm....excuse me?" She says to the guard who had led her to the quarters.

"Yes?"

"When do I get to know who I am assigned to?" She asks.

"Tommorow morning" He says nonchalantly leaving immediately.

A princess who woke up anytime she pleased was suddenly forced to wake early and serve as a maid.

Her bed mate had woken her up by emptying a bucket of cool water unto her sleeping form.

The worse way to wake someone up.. She quickly brushed her teeth bad dressed in the maid's attire.

"Camille right?" Her bed mate asks.

"Yes..." She whispers.

"I am Grace,we are going to work harder today than other days" Grace says.

"Why is that?" Dodai asks

"The second in command to the throne is getting married in a few weeks time... preparations are beginning today" Grace says.

"Who is he getting married to?" Dodai asks feigning innocence.

"The princess of Mayes.. to be sincere all the maids are panicking..I mean we've had enough of the Queen and the King's mistresses we do not need any other dictator or tyrant" Grace whispers.

"What makes you think she would be as bad as the royals here?"

"Because aren't all royals the same?"

"Do you hear anything from the second in command? Like,is he okay with the marriage? how was his relationship before this marriage?" Dodai asks.

Grace looks around to be certain there was no eavesdropper.

"We are not allowed to speak of Royal's past or their relationships Camille... you find out yourself... afterall everybody had a past even the Queen, Cam" Grace says walking off.

Okay so it was obvious, grace wasn't going to tell her anything.
