(TYLER)
The next day at breakfast, the house is full of energy as Marco and his two children play about. Marco's wife, Gloria is much quieter. She laughs at her husband's jokes and watches him adoringly.
Sasha isn't at the breakfast table and his absence disappoints me. I convince myself that the only reason his absence bothers me is because I suspect he is avoiding me. He'd told me earlier yesterday night that he'd schedule a doctor's appointment for me today, but if he isn't around, I can't nag him to follow through. It has nothing to do with him being sweet to me yesterday night. Definitely not.
"Tyler," Marco calls out. "Tell me more about yourself," he beams me with a smile as he pours himself a glass of apple juice.
Marco has no idea that my marriage to Sasha was a scheme. After Angelo's stellar performance yesterday, I don't know what he thinks.
"You have family nearby?"
"No," I avoid his gaze.
