CHAPTER 7

Selena lay in her husband's arms; it felt so good to be like this again. Remembering the nights she had to sleep alone in that huge room was so suffocating. She didn't want to go through that again.

'So what are we going to do with Cleo?' Selena asked her husband.

'Don't worry about it. I will make sure that she will regret ever coming back into my life,' Sean answered and she smiled.

'I would love to meet her again and this time I will make sure I pay her tenfold for the way she treated me back then,' she told her husband and he smiled at her.

'How about we meet her together later?' he suggested and she nodded her head in agreement.

'I would love that,' she said as she planted a kiss on his chin.

'If you do that I am afraid that you will miss school,' he warned as he planted kisses on her face.

'I won't mind missing a day, I will just say that I was sick,' she said and he laughed.

'You are not a good liar, you know that right?'

'I know but I don't feel like going to school. Can I go with you to work?' she asked him and he patted her hair backwards.

'You don't have any shoots at the company. You just want to go there and do nothing?' he asked her and she nodded.

'I want to look at you the whole day. Am I allowed to do that?' she asked as she placed her hand on his chest.

'Yes, you are allowed but that is only for today. You are not allowed to skip class again, deal!'

'Yes, it a deal,' she said with a smile on her face.

'I think it's about time, we expand our family,' he said as he kissed her on the hollow of her neck.

She didn't want to tell him just now after they reconciled, she wanted to tell him when it will be special and soon it will be his birthday so she was going to hold it off until that day. He would have to forgive her for keeping this to herself.

'We will definitely expand it,' she said blushing all over. It was embarrassing to talk about making babies; it reminded her of how meek she is every time they make love.

'We better start right away,' he said as he lowered himself on her. She closed her eyes as his lips met hers.

They spent the night making love but didn't find it odd that they were at it again. Was it because they spent many days without being intimate or they just were not able to keep their hands off each other? Both statements were true but the most important thing was they loved each other and they wanted to be this way.

Once more Selena let her husband take her places only he was capable of doing. How could she not love him when he treats her that way?

Vivian had been in her room the whole day; she didn't go to school and just locked herself up. It was embarrassing and painful. How could he treat her that way?

He didn't know but she started having this he crush on Edward when she was just ten years old. At first she just thought that's what all the girls do, they just fall for their brother's friends but with time she understood what she had for him. She saw him as a man and not just someone whom she grew up seeing. Seeing him with all those women during all these years was painful but there was nothing she could do. She was just a child and had to grow up if she wanted him to see her in another light.

So she waited until she turned eighteen and became an adult and every day she pondered of how she would make her feelings heard. And when she mustered up her courage to confess, he turned her down brutally and she can still see it so vividly she couldn't sleep at all last night.

After she shocked Edward with the sudden kiss and confession, he stared at her in a way he never did before.

She didn't know what to do except to just wait for him to respond, so she waited until he spoke those words to her.

'I don't want you to mistook my affection for you V. I only see you as my sister, so don't think of m as something more than that. I will pretend as if this never happened, I will go in first,' he told her and left without giving her a second to say something.

When she returned inside she saw how close he was with that other woman. She was so embarrassed and ashamed of herself. Was it wrong for her to confess her feelings to him?

She excused herself from the rest of them and went to her bedroom where she locked herself in and never left.

Her mother was busy knocking on the door and she wasn't bulging at all. She was not going to let her see her in that state. She just wanted o die, it would even be better if the earth could just swallow her up and disappear from this world. How as she suppose to face him in the future? Will she even be able to see him again after what she did?

She pulled the covers over her head and drowned herself in crying. She heard a sudden thud and she jumped off her bed. Was there a thief inside the residence? When she jumped out of bed, she realized that her mother had her door kicked open and she was fuming with anger as she walked inside.

She just looked at her and continued crying. She couldn't hide it anymore, even when she didn't want her to see her this way, it was no longer possible. Instead of her scolding her, she embraced her in a hug and she laid her head on her mother's chest. Hearing her heart beat made her calm. Her mother was always there for her and she shouldn't treat herself this way.

'You don't have to cry, my baby. Is okay, so don't cry,' her mother comforted her as she cried.

'He rejected me mom. He told me that I am just like his sister; he doesn't see me that way. I don't know what to do mom,' Vivian confided in her mother and she patted her head.

'This is quite unfortunate but my baby you are stronger than that. Don't let that fool who doesn't appreciate you drag you down like this. Go and take a warm bath and I will take you out,' her mother said.

Vivian smiled at her mother, she was trying to make her feel better and she really appreciates it. Going shopping was a good way to heal a bleeding heart.

'Okay, I will go now,' she said as she breaks free from her mother's embrace.

'That's my girl.'

Vivian feeling refreshed from her mother's comforting words she went to the bathroom where she ran the hot water and filled the tub. She got into the tub and began to scrub herself. The world wasn't going to come to an end simply because she had been rejected. If he didn't love her then she was just going to hang around with those that do.

She heard a friend of hers saying the best way of getting over another love was to find a new one. She had to find something quickly to stop her from drowning in sorrow because of rejection.

After she was done with her bath, she changed into something colorful to cheer her up. She went downstairs and found her mother setting a bowl of cereal at the table. Everyone had already eaten so she knew immediately that it was her food. She didn't want to make her worry so she sat down at the table and had her cereal. Her mother was seated there looking at her as she takes the spoonfuls into her mouth; seeing her happy brought her joy even when she was in this kind of state.

After having her bowl of cereal, she followed her mother outside and the driver was already waiting for them.

The driver took off and their journey began. She wondered what her mother had planned for her; anything will just do at this point.

She and her mother had a crazy day. Her mother took her shopping and bought her clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry and make up. She had a lot at home but it wouldn't hurt adding more to the old ones.

They had ice cream, burgers and juice at a café and continued with their plans for the day. She even took her to a masseuse parlor where she received a full body massage and by the time she left the parlor, she was feeling very much relived and light. Some of the heavy weight on her was lifted up.

'I love you,' she told her mother as the two got out of the car after arriving back at home.

'I know darling, I know. So cheer up and be happy. I am going to teach that person a lesson, just sit back and watch,' her mother said and she laughed.

She wondered what her mother was going to do this time but whatever it is she was just going to sit and enjoy the show.

Walking hand in hand with her mother, the two of them walked inside the house. She rushed to her dad who was sitting in the lounge watching TV and she kissed him lightly on his cheeks.

'You look happy,' he said as he smiled at her.

'I am, I had a great time with mom today,' she told her dad.

'Did you bring something for your dad?' he asked her and she choked.

'I forgot, I will buy you something next time,' she said as she sat down on her dad's lap.

'You have no love for your dad, I can see that,' he said jokingly as he patted her hair.

'It's a promise. What do you want me to bring you?' she asked him. It was very funny asking a man who has everything that question.

'I want to see my daughter smiling all the time and if anyone makes you sad, just tell me and I will teach that person a lesson,' her dad said and she hugged her dad.

'I will not forget that, so don't worry dad. I will not be sad and only be happy,' she promised though that was going to be hard.

'Okay, dear. And bring your friend sometime for a meal,' he suddenly said and she looked at him.

'You mean Selena?' she asked, wanting to confirm if that was the same person that they were talking about.

'Yes, the young woman who married that Sawyer's son. I heard you two are close and she is a good girl. I would love to see her one day,' her dad praised Selena and she was filled with so much joy.

'I will do so, I will go and make a call and check when she will be free,' she said as she stood up.

Her dad smiled at her once again and she rushed upstairs to her bedroom. She had so much to talk about with Selena. She was curious about how things turned out with Selena and her husband and if they had made up. She has a lot to talk to her about too. She sat down on her bed and made the call.

Selena was sitting inside Sean's office for the whole day; she spent her time studying her books since her husband was busy with work. She heard many people gossiping but that didn't bother her at all. So what if they call her possessive? It's not like she didn't get his permission before going there. Since she was done with most of the promotions, she didn't have much to do except to maintain her image for the sake of the company. It was also good her being with her husband at a time like this, it showed they were in good terms.

'Do you want something to eat?' Sean asked her as he looked at her.

Ever since she got pregnant she had been eating a lot though her husband wasn't even noticing it. Would he be mad at her when he learnt the truth?

'Yes, I want a chicken burger and a banana smoothie,' she told him.

She watched as Sean makes a call to his secretary for her food order. It was good being a boss. She was used to being ordered around before she met Sean and now she was getting the experience of being on the other side.

Everywhere she went, people showed her respect even when they talked behind her back. It was a good and a bad thing to be part of the Sawyer family. She rarely even met her in laws because of the tensions in the family. She never knew that families could be this disorganized before since she grew up in a warm and loving home. She missed her mother and she wanted to see her.

'What are you thinking about?' her husband asked her.

'I was just thinking about my parents, I miss them,' she replied.

'That isn't a big deal. We can invite them over or we can go there for a weekend any time,' he told her and she smiled with joy.

'I would love that, thank you,' she said.

'I will do anything to make you happy,' he said and she blushed.

She went back to her studies and a few minutes later, her food arrived. She devoured her food even when she had just eaten a couple of hours ago. Sean didn't say anything but gladly watched her as she ate her food.

Time passed by so quickly that it was already time to leave work. She didn't know where they will be going next but all that matters was that he was with her.

'I made a dinner appointment at the hotel, let's go,' Sean said as he stood from his chair.

Selena packed her bag and followed her husband out of the office. The secretaries all bided them farewell and the two of them took the elevator down to the basement where Richard was waiting for them. Richard drove them to the hotel where they were welcomed warmly and were escorted inside.

They entered a private room and got seated. Something felt weird though, it didn't look like they were having an ordinary dinner, and it was as if they were expecting someone else to join but who might it be? She didn't have to wait for that question to be answered because a few moments later the door was opened and a smiling enemy of hers walked into the room.

Selena looked at her husband with a confused look and then at Cleo who had dissatisfaction all over her face after realizing that she wasn't here alone with Sean.

'What is she doing here?' Cleo asked as she sat down.

'She is my wife, so of course it is natural for her to be here. There is no way I would meet an ex of mine in absence of her,' Sean answered as he drank his water.

Selena looked at her husband with so much love in her eyes. He really know the right words to say, they were so lovely to her ears and yet tormenting to Cleo who was seeing where she was sanding.

'What is that supposed to mean?' Cleo asked.

'For years, I lamented on what you did for me. I blamed you and I for what happened but now I have closure, I have put everything aside. I wanted to call you here to thank you for what you did, because of you I have realized my true feelings towards Selena and now we are much closer than before. Thanks to you I finally have the courage to tell you in the face to stay the hell away from me. If you ever attempt to get near me, I will make sure that you rot in prison and never see the light of day ever again,' Sean said and Selena looked at her husband with awe.

She had never seen him intimidating anyone before.

'What makes you sound so confident? This is a free country and I can do whatever I want,' Cleo asked.

Sean threw a file on the table and Selena pulled it and opened it. The things inside were so shocking she didn't know a human being can actually do something like this.

'I think you should just listen to his advice. I hate you so much but I would not like it if you end up in prison even though when you deserve it,' Selena said as she threw the file at Cleo.

'So you can talk?' Cleo asked her.

'You know that well. I never knew that a woman was capable of doing something like this. You are a disgrace to womanhood,' Selena practically insulted Cleo.

'What give you the right to judge me?' Cleo asked filed with fury after looking at the file.

'Ever since the second you decided to come into our lives and destroy this was the very second I got the right to judge. If you are a wise person I advise you to carry yourself out of this room and let us have our dinner,' Selena said glaring at Cleo who just choked on herself. For the first time she saw how tongue-tied she was, she didn't think she was capable of doing that.

'You heard the lady, Cleo. Unlike my generous wife here, I don't give a damn about you. If you try anything, I will send that file to a prosecutor I know. I bet he will enjoy having this as a case or I might as well just contact all those people you con. I bet they will love to see your face again. I hold all the card here, so right here and right now, promise me that you will disappear to whatever hole you crawled out from!'

They all looked at Cleo who seemed to be having a battle in her mind. She had lost this war and she should just raise the damn white flag. Why was she trying so hard to be hardheaded?

'Fine, I will leave you two alone and hope that we will never meet. For your own information, I really did love you back then but your family......'

'Don't you even dare go there? I know my family so well so there is no need for you to remind me about them. Just leave!'

Cleo stood up and picked up her bag and then looked at Selena.

'He is a good man, take care of him for me,' Cleo said.

'I know but I won't be doing that for you because I have always done it from day one,' Selena said and Sean looked at her and smiled.

Cleo shook her head and left the room. Selena took a deep breath as soon as Cleo left and she looked at her husband.

'That went well. When did you find all those information?' she asked him.

'Let's just say I prepared myself just in case a day like this ever comes,' he said cupping her face with his hand.

'Thank you for doing this,' she said as she out her hand on top of this.

'I will do anything for you to see you happy. Now let's have our dinner and go back home. I have so many things that I need to show you,' he said and she knew what his intentions were. She smiled at him, talked to him with her eyes and agreed on whatever was going to come. He will make a great dad, she could see it but he was going to wait for a while before he learns the truth.

'I can't wait for that,' she said with starts in her eyes.
