Stryker stayed long after Parker grew bored with him. Once she had made sure he had no more treats, she began to graze again, eventually straying further and further away until he was just left watching her from a distance.
It was evening by the time he left and he felt kind of awful for ditching Jamie for the best part of the day, especially seeing as he probably needed him now more than ever. He tried to make it up to him by hitting the toy store on his way to pick him up. It was close to closing when he got there, and empty for the best part.
Stryker felt that he knew Jamie pretty well; he had mastered his likes and dislikes. Yet, browsing the shelves, his mind went blank and he had no idea what to get him.
