Her Parents Love.

Melody looked at herself in the mirror of the bathroom and hot tears rolled down her cheeks. Her once flawless face had been scarred for life on that fateful night and for the first time since the incident she was standing before a mirror and looking at what was once one of the most beautiful faces in all of Bellsview which had now become an eyesore. The wound had been cleaned and plastered for a while after the incident until few days ago when her father had informed her that it was time for the plaster to be taken off.

At first she had been very nervous when her father had informed her but both her parents had assured of their love and full support and also promised to fly her out of the country whenever she was ready in order to get her face fixed in a plastic surgery so that the scar could be eliminated. This assurance had boosted her confidence and helped her to prepare her heart for what was the aftermath of the wound that had been inflicted on her face.

Her heart froze when she saw the look on her parents face, her mom couldn't hold herself from sobbing while she could remember seeing her dad's clenched fists trembling violently as he stared at her with wide eyes.

They had been doing everything possible to find the men "in the alley" as Melody had described the perpetrators of the act without achieving any positive results but as soon as they had seen the scar on her face, they decided to take the search further by declaring a bounty reward to anyone who could help identify and locate the man who had done this to their only child from the sketches made by the police using Melody's description of him but so far, no one had come forward with any useful information.

As she stood before the mirror accessing her face and the scar on it, she could feel the rage inside of her boiling and had this desire to smash the mirror but took some few steps backwards and threw herself to the ground and pulled her hair in agony as she cried bitterly.

The alarm in the living room struck 7am and she remembered that she had a flight to catch at 10am. She quickly picked herself up from the bathroom floor and stepped into the bathtub, she turned on the tap and relaxed in the tub as the water came rushing.

Melody could tell that today was the beginning of her new life as she strode down the hall to the living room lazily dragging her fancy Gucci Box with one hand and a clasping a matching purse in the other. She had taken time to use the new makeup kit that her mom had ordered online for her, and like the reviews had stated, the scar was well covered. She wasn't one to dress too much despite being the daughter of wealthy parents, that was why she picked a light purple blouse and a matching bucket hat, she wore a pair of denim pants and jacket and a simple pair of custom Adidas sneakers.

After such a long time, she had made up her mind that it was time to move on with her life and she was certain at this point that everything would be alright. By the time she would be returning to the country, she would be a new person and her life would begin from where it had stopped.

"Hey honey.... You ready?" Melody snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her mother's voice. Mrs Miller who was a big shot in the world of Real Estate, had cleared her table early enough and left her Agency to be run by her personal assistant while she traveled with her daughter. She was dressed in a well tailored pink floral satin gown, her long dark hair was packed with a silver ribbon and her feet were strapped in a pair of black sandals. She hated traveling with any luggage, over the year right from her childhood, she would prefer to go shopping whenever she arrived at her destination, so she would go with just a handbag each time she travels...

Melody smiled as she walked into her mother's outstretched arms and they both embraced each other.

"Yes mommy... I am ready" her mother's eyes got teary as she took a step backwards and stared at her daughter's face smiling.

"Oh come on Mom, you're not gonna do this now are you? You know I can't help it if you start crying again... and I can't risk ruining my makeup" Melody whispered as she wiped her Mom's eyes with her handkerchief

"Oh no dear... I'm not crying because I'm sad. I'm crying because I'm wondering what I did to deserve being blessed with such an angel for a daughter. Despite all that has happened, you're still so beautiful" her Mom said as she laughed with more tears in her eyes.

"That's because you are a beautiful woman yourself..." Both women turned towards the direction of the voice to see Dr Miller standing at the edge of the stairs with his hands in his pockets. He was already in his navy blue scrub suit and his feet were clad with a pair of grey crocks.

"Oh come on honey... You are just trying to tease me this morning aren't you." Mrs Miller said blushing. Her husband came down the stairs, walked up to them and planted a kiss on his wife's forehead before turning to his daughter to do same.

"How is the queen and the princess of my heart doing this morning?" both her parents looked at her with love in their eyes as if waiting for a response to the question and then she suddenly felt a tightness in her chest as her emotions began to get the better of her. She threw herself into her father's arms and sobbed.

"I'm fine papa... I think I'm fine." She said admist sobs. Her father held her closely and gently stroked her hair. He could feel his anger rising within him but he had to put himself under control. At this point all that mattered was his little girl who was sobbing on his shoulders. "It's alright baby... I don't expect you to get better so quickly. Take your time and we will be right here to help you through it. He looked at his wife who was already tearing up and beckoned on her to come closer which she did. He held both of them closely as he thought to himself

"I'm going to make sure whoever did this to my daughter faces the consequence. They are my entire world and he chose to hurt them. I'm going to ruin you for what you have done. Just you wait Monster, wherever you are, I will surely find you."

Mr Miller was brought back to reality when he felt his daughter pulling back.

"I have to leave now papa... Or we may miss my flight" Melody said with a smile on her face as she slipped her handkerchief from her purse and dabbed her tear filled eyes.

"Just when I told myself no more crying here I am ruining almost two hours' worth of my facial makeover"

Both parents chuckled "Nonetheless, you are still as beautiful as an Angel and your makeup is absolutely gorgeous. And the ad said the products are all waterproof you know?" her mom said as she picked her daughter's box

"Alright honey, we'll be on our way now so we don't miss our flight. If only this young lady didn't insist on taking a commercial flight, I won't be in so much hurry to make it on time to the airport." She said this giving her husband a peck on his cheek. Melody and her father looked at each other and giggled, she gave her dad one more hug before turning around to leave with her Mom who firmly held her by the wrist like she had always done she was a toddler as they both walked to the waiting car. She was in her early twenties now but her mom had never stopped holding her by the hand each time they went out. Although she used to object to this as a teenager but eventually she began to tag along, basking in the love showered on her by her parents, she couldn't have asked for more.
