No answer. His face turned red as he showed how displeased he was with them. The atmosphere became quiet and no one dared to utter a single word.
The door opened a tall slim lady walked in to the room. She wore a white suit and a black heels. Her hair was neatly parked in to a pony tail style, to stop any distraction during work.
A strong aura followed her behind alerting every one of her arrival. Her smiling face changed immediately she saw the face of her boss.
"Good morning sir, " she said, with a bowed. There was no response from the boss. Lifting up her head a little to see what was going on, she discovered that the pen he was holding broke as a result of his anger. That was not a good sign.
Whenever the boss was angry , he would destroy all the things around him. Now, that she was late to work, he was going to destroy her instead.
"A-are … Y-you just coming to W-work?" Mario managed to asked. He tried his best to show that he was not afraid to talk but his voice shamed him as he stammered.
Zoe wondered if she should laugh or answer him. When ever the young master was not around, he would order and shout at them like he was the CEO of the company. Now, he was trembling and it felt so good watching him.
"There was a traffic jam on my way to work. It wasn't intentional sir Mario, I swear," she explained the reason for her lateness. It was going to be her seventh time of coming late to work, this month.
Mario was going to believe her but she doubt if the boss would buy that. He was too clever and smart to lie to. Without questioning her , he matched the papers on the floor and left the office.
"See what you have caused?" Mario shouted at her. Finally he found his voice after the boss left.
"I am very sorry sir, I didn't mean to come late" She said ruefully.
"That is none of my business. You have successfully made the boss angry. I hope you know what happens to an unserious employee ?" Mario reminded her.
Sack letter. That was it. The boss was going to fire her . She wished she didn't attend that party last night. Zoe bent down and started picking the papers on the floor. She had to type them again. Also, she had to get all the signatures from the head of offices before bringing them, to the boss' desk.
"The young master is in a terrible mood. Try not to anger him" Mario advised before going out.
Zoe doubted if he was in a bad mood. The Nicholas she knew would have sacked her immediately, but he didn't.
The reason behind this was the fact that she was now his responsibility. Whatever happened three years ago broke them apart. Nicholas was ready to forgive her even though she repented.
She even went ahead to work with as his secretary so that they could spend time together.
Zoe dropped the picked up the remaining and left for the other offices. She could have easily send any one of the worker to do it for her but no.
She wanted to know where Nicholas was going. He was angry and it would be bad if he does something rash.

Nicholas got to the fifth door on the last floor and knocked. Anyone who passed by would be surprised that he was knocking on the door of one his workers.
A voice came from inside urging him to come in. He walked into the room and found Luciano, standing closed to his Library.
He closed the book as soon as he saw Nicholas and walked to him "Welcome home, cousin. How are you doing?"
He shook his head indicating that nothing was going well so far "Very bad. Zoe just annoyed me."
Luciano would have guessed it correctly if he was told to make a guess. It always has to do with Zoe, his ex. He was also his present secretary.
He dropped the book on his desk and drew a chair for his cousin to sit "what did she do now?"
Nicholas sat and sighed "Lateness to work. It happened again this week. I have told her that if she can't put on with the office, she can look for another job…or I can start a business for her."
Luciano nodded. His cousin was right. Zoe's lateness to work was getting out of hand. She went to a party last night and woke up late "We can't just tell her to leave. I will talk to her."
"You are always talking to her. I have not seen any changes at all," Nicholas said, as he brought out his phone from the pockets.
"You see it soon, Nick. You should give it time."
"I have given it enough time. its been years, Luci," He reminded him in case he has forgotten what happened. "I think we need to give each other space now."
Nicholas glared at his phone for few seconds and got up from his seat immediately.
The horror on his face scared Luciano. He knew it has to do with the nostra Costa "What happened, Nick?"
Nicholas placed his palm on his forehead. Nothing was going well for him even though the day just started. Slowly, with in a tender and soft tone, he broke the news to Luciano "They have our sister. It's either her or the deal."
