CHAPTER 14
PHILIP'S POV
Philip in the car driving Magedelene who had rolled her eyes for the 50th time.
"Magedelene, I just wanted to help you seriously, I came there looking for you and that was when I heard him talking". He pauses looks over at the rear mirror then he continues.
" I felt a need to do that". He says that as he looks over to her, who for the first time looks at him with softness in her eyes.
"I didn't ask you to, you should have let me say something". Magedelene mutters out which indicates she was a bit angry.
"Do you know why I came searching for you". He asks this time looking at her expression on the mirror
"I don't know". She rolls her eyes again, but this time a little smile drops on her face.
At that moment, Philip realizes how much he misses her, and how he wants to kiss that fragrance soft lips again.
" I realized how awful, I have been towards you after the kiss". He pauses letting that word ' kiss ' ring a bell or ignite those feelings again
"I searched over, Maya actually told me you had gone to that direction". With the mention of Maya, he could see the smile on Magedelene face vanish.
He smiles towards her "Did I say something wrong". Magedelene looks away. 'Wait was she jealous'. He thinks to himself.
"Okay what's wrong Magedelene, we are really getting to know each other and I would like us to be able to communicate with each other". His eyes on the road, trying to avoid a gallop. He looks over to Magedelene who hasn't said a word. He stretches his hands towards her and held her.
"To be honest, I just thought you got what you wanted after the kiss that's why you ghosted me". Their hands still intertwining
" What are you talking about".his eyes wandering to hers , then he looks at the road, looking for place to park his car, they really had to talk. He never wanted to make her feel that way.
" Then I saw you at school today, you just waved at me". She looks up at him and asjs him " who waves at someone they kiss". She didn't wait for him to respond
" Then I saw Maya with you, it was too much, I came over to you to thank you and you were acting off ". She pauses.
Philip knew she wasn't done, he lets her continue.
" And you think i shouldn't act indifferent .
Philip found a place, he immediately parks his car, he needed to tell her, all these assumption wasn't going to help this thing they had or probably he has for her.
" I parked over here so we could talk" he explains to her as he notices her scanning the place.
" I am really sorry about all these". He pauses then continues slowly
"My parent just gave me the wildest news of my life, a news I didn't want to know, that I had always had doubts about". He says as he faces her completely, bringing her both hands closer to him.
Magedelene looks at him with confusion, as he continues "l have been so sad about the situation, and I haven't been with my phone, I needed some time for myself". He yawns.
Aside from his friends, Maya. Magedelene was the other person he was confronting with this.
"You know, when your whole life has been a lie, and you didn't expect anything, because your parent had always give you the best of what life has to offer". He looks at her with tears in his eyes.
She surprises him as she brings him closer and hugs him tightly, making him feel so safe. He cries softly,
With her she calmed all his nerves,
She didn't ask him what it was all about, she just allowed him express himself, He continues.
" I just don't know how to see my parents anymore, I held them in high esteem, I looked up to my dad so much, he was the perfect description of a Good father and husband". He says all these still in her warm embrace.
" Hey". She moves her body Abit, facing him and looks at him as she says this gently, " You know one thing, I have come to realize Is that People that truly loves us think by lying to us, they are protecting us from being hurt". She pauses.
" They just don't know better". She says as she hugs him again.
Philip just wanted to stay there in her warm embrace, he didn't want to leave.
" And about Maya, it's not what you think it is". He say this time as he looks into her eyes
Why couldn't Magedelene see he really likes her, he don't act the way he does around her with others
" Yunno, you don't have to explain that". She looks away again.
" Oh yes, I have to" . Gently turning her face towards his. " I and Maya have been best of friends since kindergarten, there's nothing between us.
She and I have been friends before I met the boys. Infact she and Jay, my best friend also, have been dating since high school". He pauses letting all that sink in.
" She could be a little over protective of me, she has always been. It nothing I promise". He says assuring her, her eyes going soft. His eyes drifts toward her lips.
Philip's mood lightening a bit "Infact Jay would be having a party this weekend, I am officially inviting you I want you to meet my friends, including Maya, I wasn't intending to go. But it will be cool to get out there again and I just want to spend time with you again.".
He goes towards his engine as he starts his car.
" I'll think about your request". Magedelene couldn't help but grin widely. He was glad she was smiling again.
"Ok, no pressure alright". He zooms off, as he drops her off at her gate, kissing her softly on the cheeks. " Something to remember me by". She rolls her eyes while he chuckles.
