Chap. 11: Chunin Exams

The genin crowded the hall of the first exams, the academy building, trying to get into the classroom, That was blocked by two supposed genin were blocking, standing in front of the classroom blocking teams from entering. Throwing two upper classmen aside, before Sasuke walked up with Hinami, and Naruto. 

"Let us through. Hinami, you noticed, didn't you." Sasuke said and Hinami hummed, 

"You're using a genjutsu, we need to go up one more floor." She said in return, looking towards the genin who hummed,

"So you saw through that, huh?" the examiner said the teams of genin going to leave, with Rocklee challenging Sasuke to a fight, Team 7 going to watch. Sana's teammates stood with her and the other sand siblings, one thing Hinami made immediate note of, was one of them being barefoot.

"You're fast." Hinami commented, as she watched the fight, Lee had proclaimed his love for Sakura Haruno just before with Sakura rejecting him. Her heart still belonged to Sasuke. He was fast enough to get Sasuke on the ground and out of the fight, shocking his two teammates and Sakura. The five headed up to the exam hall, where they met Kabuto Yakushi, giving away information about the competition on his jutsu cards. Sasuke and Hinami getting an off feeling from the guy, bringing Naruto to the other side of the room before he noticed. 

"Hey, do you guys know what'll be on the test?" Sana asked as she walked over with the sand siblings and Sasuke and Naruto's eyes looked over towards Hinami who shrunk under their gazes, 

"You think I know? I've never taken the exams before." Hinami said in response

"So, you decided to take the exams, figured you'd drop out. Lady Hinami." Haruki said, his words were like venom on his tongue, walking over towards Hinami, his brown hair kept up in a bun behind his head with two strands framing his face, wearing a emerald green shirt paired with black pants. He was one of the woodstyle users from the Senju clan, he held resentment towards Hinami due to her possessing the kekkei tota. 

"Haruki." Hinami said in response turning around, Haruki getting in the girls face,

"You know, they call you team killer. Seriously, it's just luck your still alive." he said and Hinami put her arm out, blocking Naruto from walking forwards. 

"Fighting outside of the designated times is grounds for disqualification. If one person is disqualified it will lead to the entire team being disqualified due to the chunin exams meant to be taken as a team. Besides, he's not worth it." Hinami said holding her head high as she looked towards Haruki, unyielding,

"Haruki, man, come on, you said you wouldn't start crap." Tenno said looking over, he was one of Haruki's teammates, his black hair sitting flat around his head, wearing his headband around his neck wearing a sleeveless green cropped shirt with black pants with his shuriken holster on his right thigh, his kunai pouch on his back waist as he looked towards Haruki who tched. Walking away. 

"Yeah come on Naruto, it's not worth it." Sasuke said in return. His black hair spiked behind his head as he wore a blue short-sleeve shirt with tan shorts, his shuriken holster on his right thigh, with his blue headband tied around his forehead. Wearing tan arm warmers on his forearms, and blue sandals on his feet. 'That was so scary.' Hinami thought, after he left, pulling her hood further onto her head, 

The first exam was a multiple choice quiz where every one needed to pass in order for the team to pass. Hinami and Sasuke freezing when that little tidbit was announced. Before looking towards Naruto who was sat on the other side of Gaara. Sweat running down the back of his head as he tried to shrink in his seat. Sasuke was in the row near the windows with Hinami sitting next to Temari in the rows near the doors. Tenno sitting next to Sana, sitting on the otherside of the middle row. 'We're doomed..' When they were called to begin, Sasuke looked at the paper, 'Ah I see…' he thought with his eyebrow twitching, a nervous smile on his face, 'I can't understand even one of these questions.' he thought, Hinami noted the questions were above genin level, she could answer the first one with relative ease, before she activated her byakugan glancing around the room without moving her head, locking onto a paper which seemed to have all the answers on it, the ninja sitting there filling them in with relative ease and didn't seem to be nervous about the answers. She hummed before filling out the answers she needed. 'Naruto's at a disadvantage, but it should be okay. He's resourceful' Hinami thought as she looked around a moment, answering the questions.

"The tenth question, if you get it wrong, you fail and can never take the exams again. But answer correctly and you move on to the next round. Of course, you're free to opt out of the exam, that means you and your team fail, but hey, there's always next year." Ibiki said looking around at the genin that remained, 17 teams calling it quits when Naruto raised his hand before slamming his palm back down on the desk in front of him. Looking towards Ibiki as he glared forwards frowning as he prepared to make his announcement, the room going so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Hinami placing her hands over her ears. 'Naruto… you idiot.' she thought, glancing over towards the boy.

"You can't intimidate me that easily, I'm gonna be hokage one day! I don't care if I'll remain a genin for the rest of my life." Naruto said and Hinami hummed, using her byakugan to look at his paper a moment, before seeming to startle, hanging her head. Her and Sasuke twitching their eyebrows as they looked towards Naruto.

"That idiot didn't give a second thought to either of us…" Hinami said quietly, Ibiki hummed in response a moment, looking towards Naruto, looking out at the rest of the genin, before announcing that they passed. 

"That makes sense…" Hinami said nodding, before Temari stood putting her hands on the desk, Hinami glancing towards her, 

"Hold on! What do you mean we passed? What about the tenth question." Temari said looking towards the proctor, other genin calling out the same thing and Ibiki looked towards the genin, most of whom were confused.

"Information gathering, and determination was what I was testing for." Ibiki explained, going into detail about the previous questions and adding a scenario for the tenth question, 

"Yeah, that makes sense." Sasuke said from the table next to Gaara sighing

"We've got both scrolls, lets head to the tower, theres something ominous in the trees now." Hinami said and Sasuke looked over, they stood in the middle of the forest of death, having acuired the earth scroll from the hidden rain shinobi they defeated using Hinami's haunted forest technique, as well as Sasuke's sharingan and Naruto's quickness. The shinobi who challenged them to a death match finding that team 7 was stronger than they thought originally, giving up their scroll in exchange for their lives. 

"Like what?" Naruto asked as they jumped through, and Hinami shrugged, looking towards the boy. 

"I don't know. But we have to hurry." She said in return, and Sasuke nodded, the three joining hands, jumping through the forest at high speeds reaching the tower within the hour. Walking inside and handing over their scrolls. 

"We passed." Sasuke said, the three high-fiving as they spoke with Iruka briefly, before making their way to where the other genin were waiting, Hinami saying something to her team before going up to where the examiners were. 

"Where's she going?" Kankuro asked pointing out the girl leaving the genin area

"Probably to ask the examiners something. She said the forest had a weird vibe all of a sudden," Naruto said in return, 

"Weird how?" Sana asked, her dark red hair sitting around her head in sideswept waves, brushing her shoulders. Wearing a white dress with halter straps, the dress reaching midthigh, wearing black shorts underneath, wearing a fishnetting offshoulder sweater overtop with black fingerless gloves on her hands. Her sand headband around her waist, wearing her gord on her back, wearing black sandals on her feet. Naruto and Sasuke looked to eachother a moment before shrugging.

"She didn't specify, she said it was just a feeling she had." Sasuke said in return, and Gaara looked over humming, Sana was sitting with her team along with the sand siblings. Naruto asking about Sana's team, with Sana agreeing to introduce them after the one on one battles, which only peeked his curiosity more.

"Hera Sensei," Hinami said as she knocked on the door, the woman opening the door, looking at the genin for a moment, her light brown hair behind her head in a ponytail with her bangs covering her headband, wearing a brown kimono top over her chain armor she wore, paired with black shorts with a with her shuriken holster on her right thigh and a kunai pouch on her back waist. 

"What's up kid." She asked and Hinami hummed a moment, 

"It's just um… It's probably nothing, but after my team and I got both scrolls it was like there was a presence in the forest. Not one of the genin teams, or supervisors from what I could piece together from what the trees told me. Um.. I'm sorry, I'm wasting your time, right? I'll leave." Hinami said turning to go before Hera placed a hand on her shoulder, 'she could sense it through the forest, Anko Mitarashi… There's no doubt it's you…' Hera thought in shock looking towards Hinami with her orange eyes her eyes holding kindness and understanding as she looked towards the genin. 

"No, you're not. You said it wasn't a genin team or one of the supervisors, could you tell me where this presence was?" Hera asked, and Hinami nodded in return, pressing her fingers together in her nervousness as she spoke towards Hera.

"The presence was coming from the rain shinobi that did the tongue thing with the kunai before the exams. When I asked the trees, they were over by Kyoto, Sakura, and Miho." Hinami said and Hera nodded, 'Anko Mitarashi… what the hell are you planning?' she thought before looking at Hinami

"Head back to the other genin, I'll handle this, alright." Hera said and Hinami nodded in return, heading back down, 

"Can't wait for the third rounds." Naruto said hitting his fist into his hand and Hinami hummed, her jacket having been sliced in one of the attacks, leaving her hair on display the strands pulled into a half up half down braid with a yellow and lilac strands intertwined with the hair. Secured with a mint green ribbon, as well as her maroon purple sleeveless cropped shirt, looking towards the sand siblings and her own team. Wearing her fingerless black gloves with silver arm guards on either arm. Wearing a black skirt on her waist with her shuriken holster on her right thigh with her kunai pouch on her back waist, wearing mesh armor underneath both. 

"Looking at how many are passing, there's probably going to be a sudden death round or something." Sasuke said his blue shirt torn on the shoulder, with his headband scuffed looking towards Naruto and Hinami. 

"Huh, a sudden death round? Whats that?" Naruto said, Sana echoing his question as they looked over, 

"In the event too many teams pass the first and second rounds, the proctors reserve the right to call a sudden death round. Where the remaining teams will be made to fight in one on one matches to determine who'll actually be continuing in the exams. It's been used a few times in the past, though, it is rare for it to be enacted." Hinami said holding her finger out a moment as she spoke, looking towards the others, before looking towards Naruto. 

"How do you not know this? Aunt Tsuna gave a lecture about it to all of us… Since it was uncle Tobi who came up with the exams in the first place." She said looking towards him and Naruto turned a light shade of pink, 

"I fell asleep during granny's lecture." Naruto admitted and Hinami placed a hand on her forehead.

It was time for a death match for the contestants, those unfit to continue, were called to forfeit, which three people did. One of which was Kabuto Yakushi. Hinami hummed at the words she heard Kabuto speak to his teammates and then once more as he walked away. The leaf ninja was talking to himself about a Lady Anko. The first match saw Sasuke fighting against a sound ninja, the boy debuting his lions barrage which used elements of a taijutsu used by Lee. Winning by holding the guys arm prepared to break it if he didn't surrender. Which the sound did after some difficulty.

"Kakashi sensei, who's Anko Mitarashi? I've heard her name a few times over the exams and was just wondering, I don't think I've ever met him though." Hinami said and Kakashi looked over, she spoke softly, so the other teams wouldn't hear what she was asking, 

"She was a talented kunoichi and Lord Orochimarus student. But, she left the village a while ago, and has gone down a different path. She's in the bingo book." Kakashi said in response looking towards the girl curiously and Hinami hummed

"I see…" She said in return, looking towards the match that Sasuke was having against one of the sound ninja, the two running around the ground, Sasuke looking like he was losing before flipping around the fight using the primary lotus that he'd copied from Lee, changing the move slightly to fit his fighting style, debuting his lions barrage. 

"Where'd you hear her name?" Kakashi asked and Hinami hummed looking back over towards Kakashi meeting his black eye with her pink, 

"Kabuto Yakushi said it as he walked away. He was talking about not disappointing him or letting the 'real me out to play' dont know what it was about though" Hinami said in return shrugging her shoulders as Hayate lifted his arm calling Kyoto Uchiha and Taichi Kamaya down from the stands. The two standing across from eachother. Kyoto wore a black shirt with a large Uchiha collar wearing tan pants with his shuriken holster on his left thigh, wearing a kunai pouch on his back waist with his black hair falling flat around his head like Kuhina's, wearing his headband around his forehead. 

"Let's get this over with." Kyoto said and Taichi tched, his brown hair that spiked and poofed around his head, wearing his headband loosely around his neck with goggles on a blue band in his hair, keeping his bangs from his face, wearing a blue vest over a gray shirt with blue pants and ninja sandals, his shuriken holster on his right thigh and kunai pouch on his back waist. White gloves on his hands. her sound protector was on the front of his shirt

"This'll be way too easy pal." Taichi said pulling the goggles over his brown eyes, as their match was called to start. Taichi jumped over the fireball jutsu sent his way by Kyoto, 

"Kyoto's acting strange…" Naruto commented looking out to the arena, 

"Strange? No he's not, I don't think so anyway." Sakura said remembering what Kyoto had told her, he didn't want his cousins to worry it wouldn't do any good. Naruto looked back over towards Sakura before shrugging, looking out at the match, Kyoto was behaving more harshly than before all in all it was a merciless beatdown on Kyoto's part that ended in his victory and Taichi needing new goggles as the ones he wore broke as they sat around his eyes. Tai went to the medical tent as did Kyoto, to seal the marking on his shoulder. 'Something's wrong with Kyoto, I'm sure of it. His chakra felt strange' Hinami thought as she looked towards the arena, Sakura denying anything was wrong with her teammate which clued Hinami in to know that she knew something about Kyoto that she was hiding from the group.

After that was Shikamaru's match against a sound kunoichi, Kin. Which he won by using the shadow of the string attached to the bell to catch the girl off guard. Forcing her to knock herself out (Literally) against a cement slab on the wall behind her, using his shadow possession, releasing at the moment before her head made contact. The next match was Tenten against Temari, where the sand nin won with a show of brutality, earning the title of the cruelest kunoichi. Deflecting all of Tenten's weapons, trapping her in a windstyle vortex, before catching her on her fan. Lee catching the girl as she was thrown to the ground, helping get her to the medical teams. Sakura and Ino's match ended with both girls knocked out, neither one of them seemed particularly strong, but that was also due to them both holding back against eachother and not going all out. Which was evident to both of their teams as they hit the ground of the arena and had to be carried away on stretchers. Shino and Zaku faced off next, the sound ninja having use of only one arm, but holding powerful air blasts in said arm, which made him a formidable opponent until Shino clogged both cannons with his bugs. Forcing the chakra to exit through his forearms, and thus taking Zaku out of the competition. And likely out of ninja work, permanently. Next was Kankuro versus a hidden sound shinobi, Jin. Kankuro winning as he used his substitution jutsu to switch places with his puppet at the last moment as Jin revealed his flexibility, dislodging every single joint in his body to hug Kankuro tighter and tighter, before Kankuro did the same with his puppet. Forcing the sound ninja to conced the match and declare Kankuro the winner. After Kankuro's match was Naruto's match against Kiba was next. Naruto winning with his use of shadowclones, chains, and rasengan, which shocked Kiba having not seen his fighting power since the academy. Hinata offering a healing ointment from the hyuga clan to Naruto after his match.

"Sana versus Akiho." Hayate called as their names were displayed on the board behind him, the two walking down the stairs looking towards eachother. Akiho had dark blue hair, her orange eyes looking forwards, her hidden rain headband sitting around her forehead as she wore a forest green kimono held closed with a black belt on her waist, wearing black fingerless gloves on her hands, the back of her belt holding a kunai pouch, with her shuriken holster sitting on her left thigh. She held a black parasol in her right hand, red detailing near the edges of the umbrella. 

"How unfortunate that I'm your opponent." Akiho said her dark blue hair fell to her shoulders in feathered layers partially obscuring her headband as she looked towards the sand ninja.

"I was going to say that." Sana said in return, her dark red hair sitting around her head in sideswept waves, brushing her shoulders. Wearing a white dress with halter straps, the dress reaching midthigh, wearing black shorts underneath, wearing a fishnetting offshoulder sweater overtop with black fingerless gloves on her hands. Her sand headband around her waist, wearing her gord on her back, wearing black sandals on her feet. Holding her hands out in a wave. Their match was called to begin and immediately, Akiho opened the parasol at her side, lifting her left hand as she called forth rain that fell around the arena, hitting Sana, causing her to yell out a moment. 

"So you can control rain that's an interesting ability." Sana said, from behind the girl, using her sand to act as a barrier between her and the rain, swiping her hand out, she sent a wave of sand crashing into Akiho who was sent crashing into the otherside of the arena, moving her parasol once more, water gathered behind her to break her fall before she could hit the wall. 'Ah, so that parasol is the source of her jutsu.' Sana thought looking forwards. Akiho and Sana continued to send forwards powerful blasts of water and sand forwards, Akiho moving her parasol to do so while Sana moved her arm, moving quickly. The arena around them becoming destroyed as the battle commenced. Sana avoiding the rain as Akiho avoided the sand. The two seeming to be evenly matched as long distance fighters.

FLASHBACK

"The rain follows you, Akiho." Nina, Akiho's mother said as she pet her daughters hair, her dark blue hair falling behind her head, wearing it in a half up half down bun, wearing a white kimono with a black belt, she held a parasol that was black with red tips on the edges of all of it. Her black eyes looking towards Akiho who cried on her lap, the 6yr old had trouble controlling her jutsu, and kept hurting her friends at the academy, and as a result, none of them wanted anything to do with her. 

"Why me though?" She said in return between her tears, the girls dark blue hair in pigtails on either side, her bangs falling partially over her orange eyes looking towards her mother with nothing but sadness in her eyes. Wearing a forest green longsleeve shirt with a black skirt, the shirt having holes in the shoulders. 

"That, I cannot answer. But the rain has chosen you for a reason." Nina said as she sighed, sitting in the small shack she shared with her daughter, holes in the ceiling allowing rain to pitter against their floor, water gathering in a puddle against the dirt floor. The shack not having a door, but a curtain to separate them from the outside, the curtain soaked with the constant rainfall. The wind blowing through the small shack. 

"Mother!" Akiho said in worry, her mother had suddenly collapsed while doing daily chores, the ten year old was worried for her, understandably so, they were completely outcasted in the village due to Akiho's kekkei genkai, no doctors would even dare allowing them in to be seen for basic things. Let alone illness, they preferred they died in a rush. She helped her mother to their bed and covered her in blankets, getting a towel for her fever. 

"I'm… sorry… Akiho." Nina said between shivers, the woman looked incredibly weak and because she could no longer get accepted for work in the village, the two now also had little food. And no medicine, unless Akiho could steal it, which oftentimes, she could barely get away with stealing food. Akiho leaned over her mother as she cried, begging her not to die, she would do better with her control, she would get better, she promsied, but her mother had to stay alive. That night, she went to sleep freezing while leaning over her mother, who had a hand on her head, the hand was shaking from her fever and the cold air that was brushing inside their shack of a house. The curtain being tossed back and forth violently. 

"You have a very special power. I'll train you to control it properly. I could save your mother, hmm, join me." Anko said as she looked towards the girl who looked towards her in fear, the woman had just showed up at her shack, and taken them from their home as they slept. Akiho's mother was ill, very much so, that she could pass away at any moment, she glanced towards her mother, her flushed face and coughing, sitting by a fire lit by Anko herself. Her purple hair spiking over her headband that held a slash straight through it, wearing a brown kimono with fishnetting underneath with a brown trenchcoat as she looked towards Akiho and Nina. 

"Or I could send you both back to that broken shack, your choice. But if you do that, your mother is good as dead." Anko said in return as if sensing Akiho's hesitance, her mother coughed in her sleep, her illness was getting worse, she may not survive the night if they returned. 

"Okay… please, heal my mother and in return I'll do whatever you ask. Please." Akiho said, the ten year old bowing to the woman who grinned sadistically, towards the girl her pupiless brown eyes, she shrugged her shoulders a moment before bringing out her medical ninja, Kabuto Yakushi. 

"Perfect." Anko said in return clapping her hands before placing a dango in her mouth, placing a hand on the girls shoulder, she led her away while Kabuto healed the mother, as part of their deal. Though the boy had a glint in his eye that scared Akiho 

"We're going to do great things." Anko said looking towards the girl who looked towards her in curiosity. She didn't care what she was doing, as long as her mother was well.

END FLASHBACK

'I cannot let Miss. Anko down.' Akiho thought as she jumped over the sand sent forth by Sana, landing on the ground she used her parasol to send more water towards Sana before sand climbed up her legs, the girl looking down in horror, finding it impossible to move. As the sand traveled up her body, 'what is this?' she questioned in her mind as she tried and failed to move.

"You were way overconfident." Sana said with a grin, her hands held out, Akiho trying but failing to move the parasol at her side, before it broke, the girl yelling out enraged, ready for a counter attack before her hands were crushed to stop her jutsu. Sana being named the winner of the fight as Akiho was completely incapacitated, and unable to continue the fight.

"Hinata Hyuga versus Neji Hyuga" Hayate said as the cousins walked down, Hinami stood next to the bars that everyone was watching behind a nervous look on her face, Neji held a lot of resentment towards the main family, which was understandable, in his eyes, the main family killed his father for no reason. The branch family was nothing but slaves to them, Hinami and Hinata were part of the main house but neither of them particularly liked the way things were done. 

"I can't watch this…" Hinami said as she stepped back from the bars as Hinata and Neji went head to head in gentle fist. Neji showing more of a mastery than Hinata held. Hitting her chakra points harshly, as Hinata attempted the same the two moving back and forth on the arena floor.

"What are they doing?" Naruto said looking at them going back and forth, 

"Gentle fist. Only those with the byakugan can master it, they use the byakugan to look at their opponents chakra points and hit accordingly." Kiyoka said looking out at the match, she was there as one of the proctors. Neji sent Hinata flying back, but she kept coming, refusing to stay down, blood came from her mouth as Neji went for another hit, the jonin all jumped down, stopping it, Hinami jumping down and helping Hinata to the medical stretcher as Naruto vowed to beat Neji at his own game. 

"You know, brother Neji, she didn't ask to be born into the main house any more than you asked to be born of the branch house." Hinami said looking over towards the boy who merely scoffed at her proclamation. Looking towards Hinami with mild disgust as she was supposed to be part of the branch house though she didn't wear the cursemark simply due to her ties to the Senju clan as well, being the daughter of the forth hokage.

"Hinami Senju versus Tenno Hyuga." Hayate said once the arena was cleared, the twins made their way to the arena standing across from each other. 

"Alright, lets do this." Tenno said looking towards her, his black hair sitting flat around his head, wearing his headband around his neck wearing a sleeveless green cropped shirt with black pants with his shuriken holster on his right thigh, his kunai pouch on his back waist. Hinami hummed as she stood across from him, tightening her headband that sat around her forehead. 

"Very well, Tenno." She said in return, looking towards the boy, her black hair in a plait braid with one lilac strand and one yellow strand intertwined with her own. wearing a lilac purple sleeveless top with a black skirt, paired with a tan cropped jacket overtop, with the hyuga symbol on the arms, with the Senju symbol on the back in black. Wearing a shuriken holster on her right thigh with a kunai pouch on her back, wearing sleeveless black gloves on her hands with arm guards underneath her jacket. Her scar which sat on the left side of her face, just outside of her eye, she came close to loosing the appendage, but was lucky. 

"Begin!" Hayate called, and the two girls ran forwards, Hinami sent her right fist to collide with Tenno's gentle fist, the two sending a shockwave over the stadium which completely broke the ground apart and cracked the railings. Hinami sending her palm towards Tenno's arm, ducking back as his arm came closer towards her. Moving to the right as his palm came closer towards her face. Tenno blocking her palm with his arm, Hinami twisting ducking underneath his arm as she sent two fingers to his arm, before hitting his chest and chin in quick succession, forcing Tenno's chin upwards, sending him crashing to the otherside. Standing from the wall. 

"You're holding back against me Lady Hinami." Tenno commented and Hinami hummed, avoiding his leg, hitting his leg with her palm, the boy twisting to kick her head, which Hinami ducked under at the last moment. Before jumping back, 

"Lightning style… snake lightning." He commented, sending lightning style towards Hinami, who jumped out of the way, flipping to avoid the lightning style 'I'm a waterstyle user, he's using that to his advantage. I can't use windstyle… yet. But I can… Yes, that should do nicely, without giving away my ace.' Hinami thought as she moved her hands, pivoting on her foot, 

"Firestyle… ring of fire." She commented, picking up the lightning and twisting to send it back towards Tenno. 

"She used the firestyle to amplify the lightning style and send it towards Tenno." Sasuke said, looking as Tenno was now also forced to dodge and jump back, jumping to the side, before the two clashed once more. Sending their palms to eitherside, Hinami moving her face to the side, before bending her arm, elbowing Tenno in the face, before kicking his abdomen and sending him crashing back to the ground. Tenno flipping, sliding back on his hands a moment. Hinami holding her hand out, looking towards the boy, who was standing across from her on the cement ground. Running forwards, Hinami avoided his palm once more, the girl hit his arm in return, before hitting his chest and chin harder than before, sending him crashing to the otherside of the arena, a crater forming on the wall, where Tenno fell to the ground. The girl maintaining her defensive stance, though, Tenno was unconsious. The match being called in her favor. Hinami coughed a moment, before heading back to the stands. Largely uninjured.

"Haruki Senju versus Touka Senju." Hayate said reading and re-reading the name, but it was no mistake, the girls clan name, was Senju. The two walking into the arena, Touka walking from the sand's side of the arena, with Houki leaving from the Leaf's side. Standing across from eachother, 

"How are you Senju, I never seen you." Haruki said looking towards Touka in suspicion, Haruki said his brown hair kept up in a bun behind his head with two strands framing his face, wearing a emerald green shirt paired with black pants. His shuriken holster on his right thigh, with his kunai pouch on his back waist, pupiless black eyes

"You know all the clan? Your so pompous." Touka said in response, wearing a shortsleeve light blue top with loose sleeves with matching shorts, a tan tunic that hung down to her knees. With a wide leather beltwearing off-white colored bracelets paired with the same ankles instead of shoes. Her ash-blonde hair was in a bun behind her head, paired with a light blue headband with the sand's metal in the middle, white puffs on either side, by her ears, her bangs falling over her face, falling , and mostly obscuring them. Paired with a light blue fabric tied over her eyes. 

"Wait are you blind, hold up.." Haruki said in return, 

"What? You scared?" Touka said, putting her hands on her cheeks mocking the boy, 

"Hell no! Let's do this." he said in return, their match called to begin. Haruki moving woodsyle towards the girl, before slipping, falling on his face as Touka stepped on the ground moving her hands slightly, 

"Interesting… there's a familiarity in her chakra." Hinami commented from the side of Naruto, 

"Man, what's Haruki doing?" Naruto said looking out at the match, Touka moving to the right as he sent woodstyle towards her face, sliding forwards moving her hand out with her hands cupped and her fingers outstretched, three pillars of earth coming up from the ground sending Haruki into the wall, when he crashed towards the ground, Touka slid to the left with her heel on the ground, bringing a pillar from the ground, hitting Haruki's back. The boy crashing to the ground, going to get up from the ground, Touka sliding her foot across the ground moving both of her arms up with her fists clenched, before pushing them both down, Haruki trapped to the ground. 

"What the hell! Hey!" Haruki said from the ground, trying to move, finding it impossible, Touka trapping him further into the ground, being named the winner of the match. 

"Got to say, it was nice to see Haruki be knocked down a peg." Hinami commented looking down into the arena where Haruki was let up from the ground, with Touka walking back to the other side of the arena.

"So Hinami, do you know that girl." Naruto asked, Sasuke looking over as well, and Hinami shook her head, 

"I've never met her before. I didn't know there were any Senju in the Sand village either. But I'll ask them later." Hinami said shaking her head as she answered,

The next match was Gaara against Lee. Gaara winning after knocking Lee out, holding his sand over his body after being punched aside, he held Lee to the ground, immobilizing him. The match was incredible, with his speed increasing after taking his weights off his shins, hidden behind his orange leg warmers. His speed was untrackable, unable to keep up, until he stopped for a moment, giving Gaara the opening he needed. Lee loosing the match, with Gaara moving on to the next rounds. After that were two ninja from the rain and Tenno from the hidden leaf, followed quickly by Sana against Bel, another hidden leaf ninja with Sana winning the match almost immediately. The last match saw Choji facing off against Dosu and loosing brutally, Dosu was moving to the finals. 

"You 14 are moving to the finals, which will take place in a month to give you time to train and recuperate as well as come up with new moves for the final rounds. Not to mention giving the Lords and Lady's from the other lands time to travel to the leaf for the final exams." Hayate said from the front of the genin standing in front of him. Hinami standing next to Naruto standing on the otherside of Shikamaru with Sasuke standing in between Dosu, who stood on the end, and Temari, with Kankuro standing next to Shino, Tenno, and Touka, arms crossed as they looked forwards. Neji also stood among the group as was Sana, standing next to Gaara with Kyoto on her other side.

"A whole month to prepare." Naruto said 

"Makes sense." Sana said afterwards, her hands behind her head, Hinami running up to Touka afterwards, asking her some questions after introducing herself. Finding out that she was Kansai's other niece, from his sister, Taila. And Rasa's brother, Gasa. Whom Hinami'd never met. Both of whom were killed while on mission a few years back. When she moved in with Rasa and Karura, starting the academy after Rasa discovered her abilities. The two talking some more before splitting, Touka heading with the sand's teams back to the sand village, While Hinami headed off to train.

"Hinami!" Ikumi yelled running up to the twins as they walked down the road of the leaf village. The two turned, meeting his gaze as he stopped in front of them. 

"Hey, what's up Ikumi?" Hinami asked in return, looking towards the boy, meeting Ikumi's pupiless brown eyes. As he ran into the room, the boy was a ball of excitement. Ikumi had half brown and half white half brown hair with pupiless light brown eyes looking towards the twins as he ran forwards, wearing a green shirt with black pants, wearing a brown poncho over his shoulders with his goggles over his forehead. The 7yr old looked ready to burst from excitement, 

"How'd the exams go, did you win, huh are you chunin now?" Ikumi asked and Hinami hummed, 

"I'm gonna go train. The finals are happening in a month." Hinami said placing a hand in his hair, a soft smile on her face. Naruto had come by a little while ago to inform her of the time frame, the girl getting ready to prepare for the final rounds which would be significantly harder than before. 

"Good luck elder sister!" Ikumi said, passing over a note from their father, and Hinami hummed, before heading to the Senju compound, training with Nawaki learning the summoning jutsu, signing a contract with dragons. As Kiyoka had done with her chunin exams. Hinami was learning to work with her dragon partner, Zera. she was a blue dragon, with red scales going down the middle of her back, with large dark blue and gold wings. Her hair was purple as it sat around her head, her tail holding a puff of deep purple to match the hair around her head. After three tries, Hinami was able to summon her, though, she was barely up to Hinami's waist at the moment. The two would grow together and learn to work together. Zera was a bit hyperactive, but worked well with Hinami, in sparring matches against Nawaki and his partner, Zera's father, Zesilf. A large red dragon with black scales going down the middle of his back, his yellow eyes meeting Zera's own. The two training harshly for the exams coming up, with Hinami also training with Kansai in the art of the teleportation jutsu. The flying raijin technique passed down from the 2nd hokage, also used by the 5th hokage, though Nawaki couldn't use the technique, not from lack of trying. Kiyoka would begin training in it as well, the girl never having an interest before. Though, she was also already a chunin and more of a medical nin now so she had little freetime to learn these jutsus. Hinami was doing this purely for Anita and Geikan, not for Naruto and Sasuke. Geikan's dream was to be hokage, and Anita was excited for the chunin exams that were suppose to be coming up the previous year.
