"Lang Lin, thank you so much."
Wen Jiujiu handed the notebook to Lang Lin, expressing her sincere gratitude almost to the point of bowing to him.
Some time ago, Wen Jiujiu had fallen ill and missed classes, resulting in a backlog of notes. Upon her return just before National Day, she found herself lost in many of her classes, so she turned to the top student Lang Lin to borrow his notes.
Having made the request tentatively, she hadn't expected Lang Lin to simply hand over his notebook.
"No need."
Taking back the notebook, Lang Lin spoke with an indifferent tone.
Wen Jiujiu, hands behind her back, looked at him with hopeful eyes and asked cautiously, "Could I treat you to a meal?"
"No need," Lang Lin repeated, adding, "I'm going to leave now."
"Then how can I thank you?"
Stepping aside, Wen Jiujiu blocked his path, gazing at him with pitiful eyes.
"No thanks necessary." Lang Lin gave her a glance, feeling a bit of a headache.
