"Why are there different orbs in different places?" Ivan threw a question to no one in particular as he watched the orb closely.

He was already having problems figuring out the mystery behind the first orb and now there was another one. He was happy he read that book because it led him here and since he came to deal with Daffany, he took it as an opportunity to come to this library. He looked towards a particular book as he remembered how he came across what made him realize there might be another book or even an orb in Brine.

While in Medrian, Ivan had gone to the library in his spare time and he walked around hoping for some clues. He came to a halt when he stopped in front of a shelf as he stared at a particular book with intensity.

He reached out and took the book looking at the cover with interest. He knew it in his heart that there might be dangerous things that came with finding out the mysteries behind the book but the thrill enchanted him. No...it wasn't just the thrill. It was also the fun and excitement he felt deep within. Finding out mysteries would also mean putting yourself in danger and you would have to find your way out of it and that excited him all the more. His mind was a little twisted. He knew that.

He opened the book and his eyes glinted with amusement as he read the first page "Interesting" he thought aloud. His eyes moved to the next page quickly.

In the book, it was said that as at when the war started, there were two dragons at that time. The other dragons had been killed by a dragon possessed by dark magic and only the two survived because of the special connection they had with the queen. At that time, dragons who had formed a bond with the queen were protected by a very strong unknown magic and only the strongest of queens could unearth the magic and up till today only one queen had managed to figure out about half of the magic but she couldn't live to tell the tale because her body couldn't control it and she tried to figure it out forcefully. The two dragons were Emerald and Diamond.

At the time of the war, the dragons had joined the war but it got to the point that they didn't listen to the queen anymore. There was something controlling them and they began wrecking havoc. They couldn't recognize the enemies from the allies and they destroyed almost everything. Everything became a shadow of what it was before but the witches at that time fixed everything with their magic before they disappeared but something happened to Faelyn. The town became dark and desolate. It was a spell that the queen had cast before the war. The queen knew what might happen to her land so she was wise enough to cast the spell. The town would not see light unless a true and good hearted born of the royal faes took over. She knew at that time that her son Vrinda was hungry for power and unless he let go of all his obsession, he would not be able to take over.

After the witches successfully fixed everything and left, an unknown source of power began growing. In other places, it was good energy they felt from the source and in another place, they felt only dark energy radiating from the source. At that time, people began searching for the source of the power and some lives were lost. At that particular time, the king of Brina which was known as Brine today decided to search inside the palace and the orb was found. He didn't tell anyone of his discovery and he began going there to try and absorb the magic from the orb but he could only get a little amount of energy from it but the king died when he managed to get the power he wanted and the power returned to the orb and everything returned to normal without the king's body being found. No one knew what happened to the king's body.

People later gave up on finding the orbs and peace reigned in all the different lands with the war only told in tales and the orbs deemed as rumors.

Ivan closed the book "That was a lot of information" he said. He was surprised because he found one of the orbs people deemed as rumors and there were many out there that no one had figured out. He knew some people might still be looking for it in the shadows and he had to be careful and he was very wary as he remembered the Emerald eyes he had seen staring at him when he went on a date with Alexia. Oh sh*t. Alexia. He had to keep her safe now. Who knew what danger she would be in if anyone got wind of the fact that he had found an orb? She was his weakness after all. He would have to protect her at all costs.

Ivan walked up to the orb with careful steps. Who knew the force he was battling with? He had to be extra careful now. He touched the orb and he felt like a shock when he touched it this time. He quickly withdrew his hand. He had to take risks after all. He would not have figured anything out if he hadn't taken risks up till now.

He walked back to the shelves and put the book back when he heard a little noise. The noise was very faint but he still heard it. He walked up to the point where he heard the noise but saw nothing there. He was very sure he heard a sound. His eyes looked at a particular spot for some time before he shook his head.

'Maybe it was my imagination' he thought. He looked around carefully to be sure he wasn't missing anything before he walked out of the library with stealthy steps.
