Daffany

Ivan walked around the maze frantically. He had explored the maze and studied it when he was regulating everything around for two months. He shouted out "Alexia" and he heard a faint voice. He followed the voice and saw Alexia lying limply on the ground. It seemed as if she had collapsed. He rushed towards her, carried her in his arms and made his way out. He hurried towards their room and placed her on the bed gently when he finally got there. He sat down near the bed and waited till she woke up.

Alexia woke up a few hours later. She groaned subconsciously. Who knew that going into the maze would affect her this much? If she did, she would have just admired it from outside. She looked around in confusion. Where was she? When her eyes finally adjusted, she looked around and realized she was in her room. Her memories before she fainted came rushing back. Ivan. Yes, Ivan came to her. Where was he?

The door opened jerking her out of her thoughts. Ivan came in with a tray of food and water in his hands. He looked over at her worriedly "You are awake? Are you thirsty or hungry?".

The question he asked made her realize she was indeed hungry. She pouted "I am very hungry. My stomach feels so sore".

Ivan nodded and gently passed the food to her "Eat up so I can scold you ". Alexia hurriedly grabbed the spoon and put a large scoop in her mouth. She almost choked on her food when she heard his words. She grabbed the glass of water and drank it like it was her life source. What was wrong with this husband of hers? Alexia was infuriated. Was he not supposed to be lenient and caring with her? Instead he wanted to scold her.

She smiled sweetly "Ivan, you know it wasn't all my fault. It was my curiosity and excitement's fault".

Ivan played along "Hmmm. I see. Explain it a little bit more to me"

Alexia smiled. He was falling for it. Who knew he was a gullible? She continued happily "You see, my curiosity got the better of me and I wasn't in my right mind so that made me wander off like that".

Ivan's expression suddenly turned stern "Alexia" he pressed on "It was absolutely not right of you to wander off without any reasoning. What if something worse than just fainting happened to you?" he didn't dare to imagine it. If something worse than this happened to her, he didn't know how he would handle it. He had to let her know how wrong it was now so she wouldn't do it again.

Alexia bit her lips "Ivan, I know and I'm sorry. I won't do it again, alright?"

Ivan nodded "Good" he patted her head "Eat up. I remember telling you we have guests. They're around. I have to go attend to them tomorrow since it's so late. Sleep when you're done eating. I will go and wash up".

Alexia and watched his figure disappear into the bathroom. She concentrated on her food and ate to her heart's content. A few minutes later, a half dressed Ivan came out of the room. Alexia could feel her heart beat faster and she could not help but gawk at him. It was not everyday you would see such a sight. She had to admit, her husband was one fine creature. If his face was godly, then she had no words to describe his body. She continued to gawk at him as he walked towards the bed to sleep. She finally out of it when she heard his voice "Aren't you going to sleep?".

Ivan smirked inwardly. Someone told him that women loved men with great bodies so he decided to try it. Who knew that his wife would fall under that category? He watched as she lay down stiffly and he suppressed his chuckle. He continued watching her intently as he deliberated on something. He finally decided and pulled her into his arms. He felt her stiffen and he coaxed "Relax. I won't do anything".

Alexia was shocked when she was pulled over. He was too close. Too close. She felt her heart accelerate. It didn't help that he was bare chested either. She couldn't help but nod when he said he wouldn't do anything "You better not".

Her eyes gradually closed. She didn't know if it was because she was already very tired or because of the warmth coming from the man next to her. Her eyes closed and she fell into a deep slumber.

Ivan looked at the girl sleeping next to him. He smiled tenderly. She allowed him to hold her meant she was comfortable with him, right? He grinned uncontrollably before falling into a comfortable sleep.

The next morning, Alexia woke up rather late. Ivan had already gone out when she woke up. There was food on the bedside table with a note that said 'Good morning. Enjoy'. She smiled to herself. She had a pretty good sleep last night. She was touched by what her husband was doing for her. Even though she didn't love him, she was rather contented with their marriage.

Her maids helped her with her bath after she called them in and she ate the food happily. She was in a pretty good mood today. Her maids led her to the throne room. She had toured everywhere except there so she was pretty curious about how the throne room would look like. She got there and opened the door gently. Ivan and the Princess of Brine looked like they were having a good chat. She greeted them and sat down to join the chat.

What irked her was the gaze Daffany used to look at her husband. She would have been fine if it was just a normal gaze but her eyes glittered and showed affection when she looked at him. A woman's instinct was never wrong. Princess Daffany liked her husband and she was quite uncomfortable with it. She should have known that her husband would have admirers with such a face but she was still uncomfortable. Who wouldn't be when another woman was eyeing her husband?
