Cameron come home

Jessica Jones, Colleen Wing, and Misty Knight were standing on the street in front of the Seavers residence. It was a very nice estate surrounded by stone wall. The metal gate was closed. From its position atop the wall, a security camera monitored them impassively. A man's voice crackled from an intercom on the nearby gate, "My name is security officer Hanlon. Please state your business with the Seavers."

The women introduce themselves as investigators from the Heroes For Hire franchise interested in the abduction of their child. It also may be connected to matters of national security, and have the support of Lieutenant Lamont. Awestricken with their authority, he permits the trio into the estate by buzzing open the gate.

Once inside the house, they find Mr.Seavers pacing erratically in the library. Mrs. Seavers sat in a high-backed leather lounge chair nearby, nervously sipping a cup of coffee. From the exhausted expressions on both if their faces is is apparent neither of them have slept since the kidnapping. "Please come in." Mr. Seavers happily greeted the heroes.

"Is this about our son? Have you found our boy?" the mother fervently asked.

"This is about your son, Mr. Seavers, but he has not been located as of yet. We just have some questions." Misty Knight answered.

"We've already told everything we know to the police, the FBI, and even the Roxxon security detail. We just want our son to come home." the mother pleaded.

"We are none of those agencies and have just recently become interested in this case, as we suspect it may be involving a current case of ours. Please help us find your son." Misty replied.

"What happened that night?" Jessica asked.

Mr. Seavers told the story: "It was just after midnight, and everyone was in bed when i heard my son scream. My wife Helen and I rushed to see what was wrong. I flung open the door to Cameron's bedroom. Inside, i saw Cameron being carried out the window by men in dark green ninja costumes, he was crying for help. Standing in the room, like statues were several other ninja, but they were different. They were like ghosts, completely transparent. The one who i guess was their leader pulled off his hood and spoke to Helen and I. I'll never forget what he said. He said, 'Behold the parents of the Sacred Child! Do not fear for your son. For he is as my own son now and through him the golden empire shall rise!'

"The one who spoke, suddenly reached out and touched Helen and I. His ghostly hand whisped right into us, and we both collapsed onto the floor. I fainted. That's all i remember. Our butler found immediately found us and called for an ambulance, but we awoke before it arrived...you've got to save our son from that madman."

"What did the leader look like?" Colleen asked.

"He was a tall, middle-aged chinese man with piercing eyes. He had a long black moustache that hung below his chin." Mr.Seavers answered.

"Do you know what he meant when he referred to 'The Golden Empire'?" Jessica asked.

"No." both of the parents answered.

"Do you know anything about a book that was recently stolen from the Met?" Misty asked.

"No…." Mrs. Seavers began, but then seemed to remember something. "But, Cameron had received a phone call the night he was abducted. The call disturbed him so much he went to bed early that night without eating much of his dinner. I asked him about the call and he had said: 'They want me to read that book, and i don't want anything to do with it! They can't make me do that stuff'. I had assumed perhaps Roxxon wished for him to attend another advanced University course and he didn't want to."

"What does your son do at Roxxon?" Jessica asked.

Neither of them had any idea about the specifics of their sons work. "I've been repeatedly told that his work for Roxxon is top secret. He can't even tell us anything. The only thing we do know is Roxxon has been paying him very well and ensuring this family's comfortability." mr. Seavers stated.

"They even provided Cameron with a personal assistant whom he's grown to care for very much." the mrs. Added.

"Who was Cameron's personal assistant?" Jessica asked.

"Her name is Sammy Sung. She lives in Chinatown." Cameron's father answered as he gave them her address and cell phone number.

Before the heroes left, Helen Seavers explained that her son despite his intellect is a special needs child. He suffered from High function Autism and was severely asthmatic. Cameron constantly needed to keep an aspirator that sprayed a fine mist of steroids into the tissue to prevent and relieve his asthma attacks. He did not have his aspirator on him since he was kidnapped. She took it out of her pocket and handed the aspirator to Misty. "If he has an attack, he can die without his aspirator. Please make sure my boy gets his aspirator."

From their vantage point on the rooftop of Sammy Sung's apartment building , the women of HFH could see the hustle and bustle of Chinatown on the streets below. The neon spectacle was quite beautiful.

However, their reverie was ended quickly by the clattering and flapping of a flock of pigeons. The frightened birds were flying out of a wooden pen on the other side of the roof. Running among them was a terrified Chinese woman. She was being pursued by a group of 6 green-clad Tong ninja.

The fleeing woman was Sammy Sung, who ran shrieking towards the exit near where the other women stood. As the woman ran past the HFH and into the descending stairwell, the tong ninja did not hesitate to beset the intruders with a ferocious barrage of attacks. The ninja used their martial arts to fight the HFH and attempted to throw them from the 10-story building. They used poles, light fixtures, and ledges to leverage themselves and avoid being sent falling. Within 3 minutes of the fight breaking out, police arrived on the scene having been called by Sammy Sung who had fled to the safety of her apartment. The Tong Ninjas resisted cooperation with authority, but the HFH were able to question Sammy.

"Why were the Tong after you?" Colleen questioned.

"I think it has something to do with Cameron Seavers' disappearance. I'm very worried about little Cameron, although I'm only his assistant I've always felt responsible for him. I understand him more than his parents." Sammy confessed.

"What do you know about the kidnapping?" Misty asked.

"Only what's in the newspapers and on TV. But, when i was with my pigeons earlier i found a note...from Cameron." Sammy said and revealed the note that read: 'Sammy. I'm in big trouble. They say they'll hurt you and mom and dad if i don't help them. I think Hammy knows. They may want you too. Be careful, Sammy. Love, Cameron.'

"Who are they?" Misty asked.

"I don't know who he was referring to or why they wanted him or me." Sammy exclaimed.

"Who is Hammy?" Jessica inquired.

"Hiram Jones. He is the Roxxon Oil Company project coordinator that has been working with Cameron and I. He couldn't have anything to do with this, Hiram's a kind man." Sammy explicated.

"Where could we find Hiram?" Jessica asked.

"I don't know his home address, but he's almost always at the Roxxon Plaza in Midtown Manhattan. It's like he never leaves work." Sammy told them.

"What was this project Hiram oversaw Cameron's work on?" Misty wondered aloud.

"I can't tell you that. Roxxon would consider that a breach of contract if i divulged top secret research information that my service would be terminated for, and legal action pursued against me in a lawsuit. Hiram Jones is just about the only person authorized to talk about it. You'll have to talk to him." Sammy conceded.
