Confrontation

When Sophie left, Melania lifted her head, and with puppy eyes, she looked at C. C was surprised at the beginning, but gained clarity of the situation afterwards. 'So, Auntie is planning to fork out information from me. ', He thought but didn't let it show on his face. Melania acted cute in front of him. But nothing changed. He did not respond to her cute acts but instead focused on doing his own work.

He almost could not bear it anymore. So, he turned his head and asked, "Spill it."

Melania acted innocent and said, "What?"

"Oh, so you are trying to pretend, huh? Okay, then, I'm going back to continue doing my work." Saying so, he turned and started working on his laptop.

Melania hurriedly asked, "Tell me. Why did my daughter leave in such a hurry?"

"Well, I hope Soph won't blame me for telling you this. She left in a hurry because, she has to deal with the after effects of kidnapping you from there."

"What?!! That's really dangerous."

"It is, but for Sophie it isn't."

"How do you know?"

"I can't tell you the details right now. Wait for the right time, and you will get to know this."

"I have another question."

"Shoot."

"How did Sophie get to know that I was in that island?"

"I'm not too sure of the specifics myself. I got an urgent message from her to come here. When I came downstairs, one of her subordinated briefed me about this. I was waiting for her to explain, but as you saw, she left."

"By the way, Auntie, who kept you there?" Melania was deep in thoughts when she heard C asking her.

"My daughter said it was Robert Atkins."

"And how did she know that?"

"From the emblem on the dresses of the guards."

"Oh." They became silent, each deep in thoughts.

Suddenly C thought of something and hurriedly looked at Melania and asked, "Did Sophie tell you that matter?"

"That matter? I don't understand. Which matter?"

"Robert is going to marry Lily Johnson."

"What? What a foolish move!" Melania was startled at the news because she knew Lily Johnson. The young miss of Johnson family, but she has another identity. She needs to speak to Sophie. There are lots of matters that Sophie needs to know, the sooner, the better. Seeing Melaia deep in thoughts, C did not say anything, but worry lines were etched on his forehead.

'This girl is good at getting into troubles.', he thought.

He focused on his work again, lest Melania makes other inquiries. But his worry was unnecessary, as Melania was absorbed in her own world.

On the other hand, Melania was thinking hard, how to explain the events that unfolded earlier to Sophie. She needs to know them. Since, she is out to fight her enemies, she, being her mother, would always stay by her side and support her. If situation demands, she would not hesitate to fight alongside her.

Melania was very worried, since, the enemies that Sophie saw were nothing compared to the actual enemies, hidden in the dark. Sophie did not know the main culprits. What would she do after she gets to know those culprits? Melania was very worried. But she would never forgive those people who separated her from her sole daughter. So, she would never hinder Sophie from taking her revenge. Determination flashed in her eyes.

She needs to inform her of the matters very soon. She knew how capable her daughter was. After Robert left her in their childhood, she seemed to close herself in a shell. But she seems to have regained the previous confidence. That was easy to notice in her demeanor, the way she spoke, the way she carries herself. Each and everything oozes confidence. Her previous Sophie is back. She was overjoyed.
