Her secrets

Mindy's POV

"Mark!" I screamed at the top of  my voice annoyed at his habit of sleeping in.

Mark slowly came downstairs in his clothes,looking drowsy and tired.

"Mum i wanna sleep some more" mark wined.

"No son, you have a test now go have your breakfast and wait in the car" I said. My phone rang,it was Lisa, my secetary

"Yes" i said stressed, " Madam your meeting starts in thirty minutes"she said over the phone panicked.

"What! It's scheduled for nine o'clock, Thursday how can it be today?" I said really mad at her.

"Madam it's been shifted" lisa said as, she was scared of me.

"Why are you telling me this now?" I angrily roared as i packed his lunch for school.

"Sorry madam it slipped my mind" lisa said giving useless excuses as usual

"What if your paycheck slipped my mind?" I threatened like i could ever do such. She was silent, i hung up she would just slow me down today.

"Mark leave with the driver I've got to go, I'll be late"I tried to explain. I love my baby boy he's already, nine so grown up.

I rushed into my Porsche, I was seriously running late and the client was too important to lose i needed to make it

On my way, my car got hit by another car at top speed it sent my car spinning but I was able to stop it.

I came out quickly to see my new car busted! Gee.. this is terrible at least the company is so close by I could walk it.

A crowd of people had circled me aski ng stupid questions" are you ok?"

"Did you get hurt?"

So silly

They left and gathered around the owner of the other car to check up on him.

I slowly left, to make it on time for my meeting and save my business a huge loss. 

"Hey! Stop!" I turned around as my hair swung and slapped his face rudely.

The next thing I saw was a middle aged man with the face of an angel behind me. His gorgeous green eyes caught my attention and i had that feeling again.

"Am sorry about the car I'll pay for it"Melendez said being polite and seeming like a proper gentleman.

"Huh?" I asked not paying attention, how could I when an angel was starring right at me. At my age thirty. I thought of him as my Superman.

"Let me drop you off" Melendez offered as he held my hand, bent down and kissed it. I wanted to jerk my hand away, not because I was upset.

But come—on were in the middle of the road and i felt a bit embarrassed.

"No problem I'll take a cab" I said and he released my hand, the magic had ended.

"No it is not proper to let you suffer because of me. I won't allow it" Melendez said and lead me to his car. It wasn't that damaged and it could still go a few miles.

I forgot all about my meeting and followed him like a puppy. He opened the door for me and i got in feeling special.

After a few minutes of glee I realised that I was so late and would get an ear full from the board members.

Especially David miller a shareholder of my business. He simply loved to get on my nerves and get me all worked up.

When i realised that I was fifteen minutes late i became impatient.

I  started to become uneasy and very restless. My hands started shaking unconditionally and my heart began racing. I was filled with anxiety and could no longer take it any longer.

"Listen you can drop me off now I'll manage" I said as politely as possible.

"Am i making you feel uncomfortable?" Melendez asked a bit sad. "Well how am I suppose to feel I don't know you. I mean we just met and ti don't even know your name" I said truthfully.

He looked affected by what I said, but that's none of my business. I needed to get somewhere and he was in my way.

"Sorry about that am..." he was saying something,then I cut him off .

"Stop! You've skipped my stop" I said.

"Ok" he said and kept on driving like what I said wasn't important.

"My superman is becoming super annoying" I thought. No one just says whatever they want and I keep quiet.

"Did you hear me i said stop" I said trying to explain things to him.

He looked at me and increased his speed, not minding my opinion in the slightest.

"Stop this car now!" I yelled trying to get things in my control. He smiled at me and increased his speed, I closed my eyes,held unto the seatbelt,and said a short prayer

"Oh my God! He's my assasin am sure the rival company sent him. Gosh am such an idiot and I fell for it. I fell for

him and his beautiful, beautiful green eyes. Am dead!"

The car finally stopped and I could hear my heart beat and I caught my breath.

I opened my eyes and saw that the car had stopped and I felt so relieved.

He got out of the car and I followed him and got my phone ready to call the police. A whole lot insults were ready to be shot at him.

"Before you get worked up at me I want you to answer two questions then do what you want" Melendez said.

I calmed down and decided to hear him out before I killed him.

I nodded.

"Did you not enjoy the thrill of it? am sure it kept your mind off the stress you were feeling earlier" he said.

As soon as he said that with his sexy accent my anger melted like butter and I felt that feeling again. The feeling that I had not felt for a long time now four years to be precise.

I reflected on the horrible car ride of death and realised it wasn't that bad. At least it was fun and and the thrill was rushing like adrelean rush. He was right I did like it so point one for him.

"You don't need to tell me your answer I know it already your eyes have said it all" Melendez said and smiled.

I wasn't even aware of my surroundings all I could see was a pair of pair of green eyes and a beautiful face smiling at me.

Then  a red rose popped  up in front of me which he gave me a bit romantically.

"Who gives a rose for almost killing you?"i thought to myself.

He laughed at me and i became confused.

"What's so funny?" I asked really confused and suspicous.

"Let me guess you're wondering why the rose. It's really rare to see a beautiful woman all the time so I'd love to compliment her" Melendez said.

I blushed.

Why wouldn't I? After all he's such a sweet talker!.

He was really sweet and charming so nice of superman.

"What's the second question?" I asked lost in thought and in the moment. "Who did you think of loosing during the car ride?" Melendez asked.

I closed my eyes and felt  him closer to me and it made me feel giddy. "Mike"I said, then I felt his breathing.

"Whose Mike? your brother?" Melendez asked. His hand held mine.

"My son" I said and immediately he let go of my hand. His breathing subsided and I no longer felt  his prescence. I heard his car start, all of a sudden he drove off.

A million questions ran through my mind, he came and left in a flash.

"Was it something  I said?" I though, but drove myself crazy. I got a text from Lisa.

"Madam all the members of the board 

are really angry.

Mr Miller has  threatened to pull out his shares from the company. Please hurry up there's chaos everywhere"she shrieked.

"Ugggh! This is so annoying!" I said to myself feeling frustrated.

My blind date had ended beflre it even began and now back to work.

I started walking back to the company  holding the rose in  one hand and my bag in the other.

But despite this I was not in the slightest angered or upset as before. I walked feeling confident and actually enjoyed the scenery of the city.

As I strolled quietly alongside the road.My encounter with the mysterious stranger filled my head  and made me smile.

For a long  time in my  life I was smiling again and it felt good.

I walked into the parking lot the security guards were very shocked to see me,Mrs Bowen on foot.

They saluted me and got me an umbrella and a drink to cool myself off. I wore a smile and went into the company happily. Puzzling them.

I was met by my secretary on my way to the board room.

"The meeting started forty minutes ago and everyone is already present they are waiting for you"Lisa said.

"I know that already don't stress me"I said to her.

I took a deep breath and stepped into the boardroom to meet with those animals.

"Oh youre finally here" David said and stood up.

"Hello everyone" I managed to say, I was ashamed of myself.

I was on a blind date and missed one of the most important business deal for the company.

"This meeting was scheduled for more than half an hour ago!" David said at the top of his voice.

"Would you calm down Mr Miller this is my first time being late. Can't you get past that already? The important thing now is am here now ok" everyone kept quiet,I was the boss in the end.

"How did the meeting turn out? I asked, hoping that it went smoothly.

"It did not push through" Mrs greenhouse said as she cleared her things.

"Why? What went wrong? I feared the worst may have happened. The client must have gotten angry and walked out on the deal. If the press finds out about this it will cause a huge scandal!.

"The client didn't attend this meeting for some personal reasons. He is requesting to have a the whole meeting rescheduled,you both kept us all waiting." Mr Su said.

He wanted to end this meeting and so did the other members of the board.

I get that I made them angry due to my own fault, but they were being too hard on me,over a meeting that did not push through.

"I've worked with them for four years, four good years now and this? This is how they treat me for missing a meeting." I thought aloud.

All this did not bother me afterall I got lucky the client also was absent. I got a second chance to make up for my foolishness and lack of carefulness.

"Well, I guess this meeting is over" I said and immediately everyone cleared out.

I was still lost in thought about who that man must have been. "Why did he run away?"I thought but I got nothing and left it the thought alone in my head.

I didn't bother to stay at the office anymore, I had no more work so I called my driver and had him pick me up.

All the staff were suprised that I actually left the office early.

I didn't think of their opinions I didn't care and I cut off all form of paper work.

Lisa was shocked the most about it and only waved me goodbye as the car drove off.

I thought of superman all thorough out the day and I was still puzzled by his gesture. I didn't want to over think it but was it my fault he was so different.

Since Adam died, I had never seen a guy and grew numb.

But now? What's going on? I don't understand anything anymore? I was lost in thought that i didn't hear when Mike came home.

He ran to my arms and crippled me with kisses and hugs.

I also in turn kissed him a lot, besides being my son he was my bestfriend as well.

After dinner mike told me something very disturbing

"Mum why are you blushing like you have a boyfriend!"

I was caught by surprise and knew that that guy had a huge impact on me.

I left without saying a word and retired to my room. I brought out my Laptop and switched it on. I was feeling so many different emotions. It was too much for me and i retorted to my secert habit.

I switched on my laptop and began hacking!

A/N:I had to take this book off,but here,am bringing it back to life again.
