Allison's POV
Two weeks of shadowing Darius, and I've uncovered exactly nothing. No scandals, no dirty secrets—just me, trailing behind him like a loyal, albeit increasingly annoyed, pet. One party melts into the next, lunches blur into dinners, and the only thing remotely interesting is watching his brother's awkward attempts to woo Jessica, which, predictably, have failed miserably. Turns out, Jessica's a harder target than anticipated. Tough as nails, and—to Darius's dismay—she's not even into guys.
This little complication has thrown a serious wrench into Darius's grand scheme. He's been pacing, obsessively muttering about Gerald being on the brink of winning whatever ridiculous game they're playing. But it's clear to me—Darius isn't thinking straight. He's unraveling, and if anyone needs an intervention, it's him.
"Have you slept with him yet?"
