Darius's POV
The last time I had felt this emotional was when I lost Dora's mom. But the fact that Allison somehow stopped me from making a lethal mistake still left me in shock. I was still trying to process how she managed to get through to me. It made me think that she was becoming something she shouldn't be—my weakness. The thought of it alone made me sick to my stomach.
I was in Dora's room now, cradling her in my arms while she slept, with Allison right beside her. In a normal world, we could have been mistaken for a happy family. But in this world, I had mentally withdrawn from Allison's allure. The only reason she was here was because Dora had kept asking for the lady with the glowing red hair—the lady with the firecracker hair. Without Allison, Dora had refused to sleep, and now, with Allison here, she was fast asleep, snoring cutely in my arms.
