"A billion dollars."

"Go to hell." I waste no time in telling him.

He threw his head back as he cackled like someone who was deranged. I wanted nothing more than to smash his head against the stone walls of his cell. Unfortunately he had something I desperately needed and killing him won't give me the answers I desire.

"Bet you won't think it's funny when you lose your fingers." I bluff, he would not know I am bluffing. My kind can't hurt our mate, not intentionally anyway.

He quirked a brow in my direction.

"Kinky. I like that."

I was not going to stand here and let a human play with me as he liked, I had the upper hand here. This was my territory, I had the final say here.

"Don't say I didn't warn you."

I make sure his cell was locked triple times, the keys were my finger prints, but I won't put it past him, even if I kept my hands off things he could reach so he didn't somehow get my prints off it, he got out of hand cuffs, I had to take measures.

"oh don't mind me Princess, you won't get a word out of me." He sounded very sure of himself. I can't hurt him but I know people who would waste no time in doing so.

Outside, there were guards positioned, the people I was looking for.

"Find me Calli." I order.

One bowed before leaving, no questions asked. A perk of being Alpha. One if the few perks.

"M you know how dangerous Calli is." Grace gasped.

"Yes, which is why I called him and not his brother."

"He won't be able to handle it. He is just human after all. He can't handle anything Calli will give him."

"We will stop whenever he is ready to talk."

"it is still very dangerous."

"like you said, he is human. He can't handle much, he will tap out and tell us what we want to know."

"There must be another way. Blackmail, something else. Anything. Just don't hurt him." Her voice was a pained whisper now.

I was feeling it too, the overwhelming feeling to not hurt him and to stand up for him. But I can't let it control my actions, he had what I needed and he has refused to give it up to me.

The moon goddess is very unfair, he did not even feel anything towards me and here I was feeling all sorts of protective feelings towards him. It does not make sense. Everybody had a mate that they wanted to protect and it went both ways, in my case it was just my way, he won't have any feelings to protect me, he won't put everything he worked so hard for at risk because he didn't want to see me get hurt. I had to speak with the moon goddess, there is no way in heaven or hell that I was going to accept him.

"I could try the blackmail." I tell Grace only to placate her.

"Thank you." She whispered.

I whip out my phone to dial Erin. He knew how to get dirt on people, even what they were trying to hide. Hopefully he never finds out what I am trying to hide.

"I'm in the middle of something, it better be important." He says as a means of greeting.

"I got shot. With a silver laced bullet." I don't know why I started with that line.

"are you okay? Do you need me to come get you?" he sounded more mature.

"I'm okay.. dad helped. I need you to do something else for me. Help me find information on a human. Anything persuasive worthy."

He breathed into the mouth piece. I realize now why I started my request with the bullet story, I wanted him to oblige out of pity.

"Name?"

"Seth Martins."

"You owe me."

He disconnects right when Calli finds me in one of the pathways.

"You sent for me." He bowed so low his face probably touched his ankles.

"Yes Calli. I need to get information out of someone."

He grinned up at me as he raises his head. Calli was a torturer. Him and his family. They loved their job a little too much.

"At your service."

"Just the basics for now. I need him alive. Ask him the location of the corona Fletcher."

Calli regarded me with raised brows.

"He is the human thief?"

I sigh. So the news already got to every one in town then.

"Yes. Make him talk with just the basics. I'm trusting you with this."

"Don't worry M, he will spill." He grinned with a crazy glint in his eyes

Contrary to what Calli said, I was actually worried, he was the last brutal one in his family but that did not make him any less brutal. I could not help the worry that I was plaqued with, for the human.

He starts in the direction of the cell, using the human scent to navigate. He was a beta but I could take him, if he went overboard.

"Calli." I call out, stopping him.

He turned to face me, he looked hungry. It has been a while he tortured answers out of people.

"your basics.. They haven't changed right?" I only hope I don't sound desperate. The basics he used were ones that worked on humans enough to scare them but not cause permanent damage.

He grinned hungrily at me.

"not one bit M."

I don't say anything as he continued, this time he did a small run to the cell.

"This is a bad idea. You already called Erin." Grace sounded like she was going to cry.

If only I had a fiercer wolf, Grace was not really cut out to be an alpha, yet we are one.

"He is a thief, what can we possibly use to blackmail him that the world does not already know? He has no dignity already."

"We could use ourselves. He might want to protect us like we want to do for him."

I almost laugh at that one.

"He is human, they are different from us. They most certainly cannot feel our connection. He won't want to give the crown up for us."

"What if we give him the money? The amount he asked for."

I sigh.

"We don't have that much Grace. Let us believe he will tap out when he can't handle it anymore. Okay?"

She doesn't answer but I know she isn't convinced he will tap out. Calli loved to torture. And from the little I knew about our visitor, he was very stubborn.

A blood curdling scream tears from the cell, I don't stop myself as I tear down the hallways to get to him.

I hoped to heaven that he was not hurt.

I prayed, the blood I perceived was not from him.
