Erin is studying me with his intense scrutiny. While Abby burst out laughing, shocking both Erin and I.

"What is so funny? Have you met him before?"

She shook her head 'No' but kept on laughing.

"Rufus told me his son has not found his mate yet, and i might be the one for him. I don't see any reason why that can't be true." I don't look at Erin as I speak.

He has to know that I'm shamelessly ditching the human and picking someone who I don't know.

"Huh? So you won't accept the human?" Abby queried.

Erin and i exchange panicked glances.

"What do you mean?" I laugh uneasily.

She chuckled.

"You can relax. I won't tell any one. You have my own secret anyway."

I don't glance at Erin now but I know he will be asking me soon what that secret she talked about was.

"How did you know?"

She shrugged.

"It was hard not to. You literally swooned after seeing him. And I see hell in your eyes after he called me cute."

I wince.
