"No you are not. You are working tonight." Erin tells me matter of factly.

"See? Rains on my parade." I tell Abby.

"You arranged a very important council meeting for tomorrow, what kind of best friend will I be if I let you jeopardise everything you worked hard for?"

"A really nice one?"

He rolls his eyes at me.

"You need to look at those pictures right? We will do it together. Clear out your plates. I need to use the restroom." He repeated before sliding out of the booth.

I sigh and sink into my seat.

"Do you care for chicken?" The food had started tasting like cardboard to me now.

Abby shook her head.

"He is so hard to talk to, and i have been anticipating our first discussion since my birthday. He is really rude."

I nod in agreement. I had really problematic males in my life.

"How do you do it? How did he like you?"

I snort.

"This is a product of over ten years of friendship. We have been friends since forever."

She looked like she was about to cry so I jump in.

"You just have to be really patient with him. He does not like people. He only makes exceptions when he really likes you. I mean really really likes you."

She swallowed.

"Are you sure you are just friends with him?"

"Absolutely positive."

Erin walked out the rest room before she could respond, knowing Erin, it was best we walk out of there now.

"Let's go. Like right now."

I say as I head for the door.

"Huh? What about Erin?"

"You'll finish all of those food if he meets you there."

Her eyes went to the pile of food on the table, she yelped at how close he had gotten before speed walking away with me. On a second thought, it might have been a good idea of she ate it, she will get on his good side if she does not waste food.

"Where are we going?" Abby asked just as Erin joined us.

"You are going back home, while M and i are going elsewhere."

"I have to come to."

"She can't come."

I rub my face. This was a chance for her to spend time with Erin, and as the founding member of clueless mate club, I have to support her.

"She knows about the human. We have to explain to her."

"Do you really trust her with that information?"

"Yeah, why not?"

"Because the human told me his plan and said not to tell anybody."

I swallow and blink.

"Well now she knows." I try for a cute smile but Erin glares at me harder.

"Why do you trust her? She might back stab you."

I want to say but she won't back stab you, but I catch Abby's eye, she shakes her head a bit.

"Because she's cute. Even the human said it."

Erin swore under his breath.

"You better be worth it." He warned her before walking ahead of us.

"Welcome to the team alpha M club I guess."

She grimaced.

"He does not want me around."

"And so? He has no choice. The moon goddess did not leave us with much choice as to who we end up with. Sooner or later he will be drawn to you." I lecture her before following Erin.

I know where he is going before he says anything. My Den. This guy was going to get us in trouble soon.

"You aren't allowed in there." Abby hissed.

"And yet here I am." He says before walking inside like he owns the place.

"Aren't you going to stop him?"

"You think I haven't tried countless times?"

Her eyes widen. I open the door for her to step through. She looks left and right before stepping into the den. I shut the door behind us.

"So this is how the alpha's den looks like. Pretty much basic to me."

"I told you so." Erin says as he goes into the dining area, that part was secluded from the front door and the window didn't face that way so it was easy to hide out here.

"Shall we start with the fact that the human is not in a coma like the news outlets say?"

"Long story cut short. The human knows how to escape death. He is only pretending to be in a coma." I explain.

"Respect. Why is he pretending?"

I look at Erin for the answer. He must have asked the human that.

"He said to catch the person that tried to kill him, he has to pretend that their plan actually worked half way. Sooner or later the persons will strike again to finish the job."

I rub my face in frustration. The guy loves to dance in the face of death.

"So offering himself as live bait. Double respect."

"Not respect. He needs to go back to his family intact. He stands no chance with any of our kind. He was only lucky to have escaped the second time." I grit out.

"If he really wants to catch whoever did that. We have to catch them first." Abby concluded.

"We?" Erin asked with irritation.

She doesn't notice this because she leans in to speak.

"Think about it. The longer he stays there pretending, you can't question him for the corona. So it's best we figure it out and then question him." She continued.

Erin and i share a worried glance.

"Of course it will stir up controversy if we go all out for a human. So I suggest only the four of us do it."

"Four of us?" I parrot.

"Yes. The three of us here plus the human. This will get him to trust as well. He might tell us where he hid the corona if we help him."

"Absolutely not. I'm not working on anything with you." Erin objected.

Abby tried not to look hurt.

"Give me a solid reason why and i promise to back out. Not one that has to with the fact that I'm a stranger since M is my friend also."

Erin opened his mouth and shut it countless times. I suppress a smile and the urge to give Abby a high five. Not even me can make him shut up like that.

"Thought so. I'm in this investigation as well. You don't have to like me just don't let your dislike for me slow us down."

"At least I don't have to stop disliking you." He shot back.

Abby faltered a bit.

"play nice Erin, or get your ass out of here."

I don't want him to regret being mean to her once he finds out who she really is.

He grumbled under his breath.

"Very well. Let's begin with the pictures I got from quarter moon pack. "

I pause while bringing them out of my pocket, remembering something.

"Who here knows the son of Rufus?"

Erin eyed me.

"Why?"

"He might be my mate." I shrug casually.
