Jared made his way into the restaurant and was shown to a table close to the window. Taking his seat, he studied the menu in front of him.
A couple of minutes later, the doors opened and two new customers walked in. As soon as Skai saw Jared, her heart skipped.
"There he is," she exclaimed a little and happily walked over, leaving Damien to trail behind.
"Jared."
"Hello, love."
Damien's feet stopped close to Skai. "Jared."
"Please sit," he gestured to the seats in front of him for them to take.
Skai sat first, scooting inside to make room for Damien. "How did it go?"
"Almost bad but…"
"I took charge," Damien cut in, placing his hand on the table.
"Good. And the mastermind?" He mimicked Damien, his eyes darting between the two of them.
"Go ahead. Tell him."
