Under the rain.

Oh God!

Ember's face had already turned a whiter shade of the next lightening that flashed or even better— a ghost!

She'd watched many movies where people were killed and at the same time, buried by their murderers. But, she hadn't expected it to be true. Well at least, in this place?

The movies interested her, but this—this one did not follow!

At that moment, she'd finally come to believe part of her friends' story. 'Part' because it wasn't Nico whom they thought was the one that killed the girls, but the gateman! So probably, it was the gateman who killed the girls.. But why?

Rain dropped on the old man's head, turning them wet and sticky. He was wearing a raincoat that prevented him from getting soaked in the rain entirely, and he wore black rain boots too.

Unlike the first time that Ember had seen him, where he looked like a stick that'd soon break if it bent further, he worked energetically.

No wonder he was still kept to work here..

Thought the student that the man hadn't noticed yet. And therefore,she prayed that he'd never catch her standing there!

Her lips, exhaling air from panic.

" Make it quick,Bob."

WHAT!?

Ember's eyes went wide for the third time in this place from shock.

That voice sounded familiar and to be sure that she hadn't started hearing voices too, topped with her ability to see bloody visions mostly, she heard the same person mutter," Unless you want us to get caught and probably, fall sick."

It was Nico! What was he doing here!!??

The boy was leaning on the same pillar as her but on the opposite side!

Fuck!

His hand held the fresh cigar stick in his hand that was lit, and he brought it close to his lips to draw smoke. Next, he parted his lips, to let the smoke out, which in return, lingered in the air around them.

Okay, scratch that part were she excluded him, for she was convinced now that both he and Bob the gateman, were murderers,

Standing there for a few more minutes, Ember couldn't help but agree with Nico that the man she hurry so that she wouldn't be caught luring outside

At the same time and inside the storage room, June heard someone knock on the metal door from outside and so, she opened the door by bending it.

Standing at the door way stood Percy, who took a peek inside to receive a glare from the human boy that was tied to a seat inside the room.

He asked,"what are we going to do with him? "

" I'll keep him locked up until he decides not to open his mouth to talk about any of this stuff.", remarked June in a stern tone.

"Why not erase his memory? "

Then the elderly woman glared at the boy in her front," I'm beginning to wonder if you think before you speak, kid. " she told him,"Erasing his memory could kill him. And we wouldn't want to soil our hands with more blood." Her words alone made Percy raise his brows in suspicion. It seemed like she cared more about the school's reputation.

And, why did it feel like, there was something that she was hiding?

Pursing his lips in thought for a second, they now parted to speak why he'd come to this side of the school," Mr. Adrian seeks your presence for a brief meeting." He told her and she nodded, letting the boy to know that she was coming and so, he walked away from there , in the direction that he'd come from.

As soon as the vampire boy had disappeared into a corner, June turned around to look at the boy saying," I hope you stay put."and then, heard him muffle-scream when she turned to walk away after she'd closed the door.

" Humans," mumbled the woman who started to move her feet alternately to travel on the distance from where she was, to Adrian's office.

As seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours, Ember couldn't help but agree with Nico that the man should hurry so that she wouldn't be caught lurking outside her dorm by this time of the night as the needle of the clock pointed at eight thirty.

Heavens! It was past the curfew time already!!

And as if God had decided to show her mercy, Bob poured the last shovelful of sand over the grave and started to walk away from there.

And Nico? She didn't see him so, sure.. he was gone and the coast was clear. Phew!

She sighed softly and started to walk towards where she'd come from.

" Stop! Hey!!" came Bob's voice from behind.

Shit!

It was that instant that the girl seemed to have switched to savage mode and at once, she started to run.

Bob chased after her and the worst part of it was that the man could run! He was just a few steps away from girl and when he'd tried to grab her, she drifted and ran backwards.

" I said stop this instant!"

She heard him say sternly and so,she yelled back," You wouldn't understand,sir!"

Their footsteps, echoing against the hallway with each heavy stomp that they took.

" Never again will I underestimate you sir," Ember mumbled under her breath as today was enough evidence for her...

Whereas right now, all she needed to do was to save her neck. At least, from this man. Neither does she want to imagine herself being the next person that he'd kill tonight. She had dreams to achieve and a family to make proud of!!

What if she picked up a stone? Not to throw it at him but at his sides just to slow him down-

No!

That'd be a terrible idea! As by mistake, it might hit him and then, boom! You're expelled!!

Besides, there were no stones around here, not to talk more of picking them to throw.

So, there was no other option left, therefore,she had to continue running until he fell back .

" Stop!!"

Ember took a sharp turn to her left and made to continue, when someone had decided to step out of the shadow like a ghost, and grab her, pushing her to hit the cold wall with her back.

A little gasp, escaping her lips from fear due to the unexpected actions which occured now.

Her eyes, comically wide and her heart, beating faster than she'd run.

She tried to scream, when the person infront of her, moved his hand quickly to cover her mouth and in a low threatening voice, he told her," You want to go back to your dorm, you shut up!"

His eyes, glaring at her that she could feel the heat on her already.

Nico.

She wondered what he was still doing outside!

The boy was already drenched from the rain,and likewise her the moment she stepped under the rain. His hand was above her head and the other, in his pocket as he came, towering over her with his body, to lean close to her. So close that she felt his-

His thing!

Oh GOD!

November, who was new to such things, felt her cheeks turn warmer.

The vampire who was with the girl, subtly narrowed his eyes on picking the smell of blood. Did she bite her inner cheek out of nervousness and fear?

And right now that he'd smelt blood, he fought the urge to sink his fangs and drink from her. His hand above her, turned to fists. This girl... She was tempting him.

His eyes flickered red before they became their normal color and he turned his face away although that he knew that for her to see him, she'd have to crane her neck for a better view, but he couldn't take that risk.

Coming to that, a question struck him, and he wondered if she saw what he saw today..
