The Boy Named Liam.

"He's all yours, I assure you, you just need a little push on the boy and you will have the magnificent war beast you are in search of."

The whole scene, which is being viewed from someone else's perspective is a bit blurry, including the male who just made a statement.

"Liam!!"

"I'm still on the price, two fifty."

The view switches and focuses on another blurry figure who just responded to the first male's statement

"Liam!!"

"Come on merchant! He's an illegal child of a noble house known for their excellent cavalry arts and men.

Not just that, the sore woman who bore the child is from the lineage of the Falls.

Make it seven eighty." Argues the first male while he points at the viewer.

"I tell you sir, you too are making this difficult. Fine, five hundred and that's last."

"Fine, better I dine with the bread and water that is in front of me than to starve as I wait on the poultry and wine." The first male angrily grabs the money pouch laid up on the table while fuming.

"Fine choice sir, nice doing business with you."

"Yeah, be happy for now, due to my humble self is in a rush, else, one might starve while waiting on us two to strike this deal." Says the first male as he angeily exits from the scene.

"Greetings to the one who's bargain might rival the Chief gambler, till next time, have a safe trip.

Now boy, what shall I call you?" says the other figure as he turns towards the viewer and gets hold of the viewer's shoulders.

The last thing the viewer sees is the other figures creepy wide smirk.

"Liam!!!"

A male suddenly wakes up from his strange dream after being called out trice.

"Liam, come on boy! The Chief wishes to make a statement before the war."

A bearded and bald male appears in front of Liam as he stubbornly continues to shake and call out to the male named Liam.

"The Chief? I'm wide awake, let's go."

Liam responds as he struggles with his balance while getting up.

The two then rushed out from what seems like a hut made out of straws.

Before Liam is a gathered crowd that have all their attention on a man in front of them.

The man, who looks exactly like a fantasised elderly Viking, is standing on a podium and with easy observation, it's obvious to everyone that he is about to make a speech.

Liam sneaks into the crowd only for his attempts to be a fail.

"Rejoice courageous men! It seems that the Lord has blessed you with a man that volunteers to fetch your waters for the day!"

The man on the podium made his statement and every single person in the crowd burst out laughing as their whole focus fall onto Liam who is still in his sneaking pose.

"Liam boy! I see you! I can't believe our young maestro can't keep up with us old men!"

Another wave of laughter came around and this time, Liam is visibly embarrassed as he stands upright while facing down to avoid direct eye contact.

"Now, back to the main topic! Good morning beloved warriors of this great colony!

As you know, it's plunder season and a territory has already been marked for victimisation!

I hope you do your normal warm-ups and stiffen your heart, for I hear that the land is in abundant!"

Cheers raised from the crowd as every single one is hyped about the plunder.

Chants were made, songs were sang, jubilation was witnessed and not in a normal way but it was really violent that cuts and bruises were made.

Liam saw an opportunity in front of him and decides to absolutely make use of it. He sneaks away from the crowd and sprints to God knows where.

Past the house and into the fields, Liam can be seen still in sprint mode and the landscape in front of him, filled with the cereals, wheat, maize and the rest made it a beautiful one, with the inclusion of beautiful maidens and wives tending to these cereals made the picture an artistic view to one.

Liam continues to sprint past the women and the murmurs on air summarises to, "here goes the love bird."

"Samantha!!!"

Liam screams on top of his lungs while sprinting towards a marked target.

One of the maidens gently held onto her harvest as she slowly turns to view the sprinting Liam.

All she could do was to respond with a lovely and innocent smile.

She has the tender blue eyes, and a humble feature of braided ponytailed blonde hair, all matching up with her pale white skin.

"Oooh, here comes the fool in love."

The other maidens teased while Samantha blushed at their comments.

Liam finally gets to his designated target and pauses his movements in order to take his time in admiring the maiden before him.

"C-come on, d-don't stare too hard." She complains while helplessly losing in maintaining eye contact with Liam.

Liam instinctively lifts her high from her thighs while staring too hard at her eyes as she whines and hits him out of embarrassment.

After for a moment, he drops her on her feet, caresses her cheeks as they two lock their eyes together.

"Don't give me that look dear, you will return for sure, okay." She attempts cheering him up as she notices his grey eyes having a tear leak.

"Yeah, I know but still, I don't know if it will...…" before he could be done with his statement, Samantha then cuts him off.

"Enough!" she screams back in response and instinctively closes her eyes as she finally let go of her tears to flow.

"Last time was a mistake, okay? Don't bring in the death flag in these heart warming moment." With eyes wide open, she speaks up while caressing his cheeks gently.

He then places a gentle kiss on her lips which took a while before letting their lips go.

"I'll definitely come back for you dear, definitely." Liam assures.

"I'll be waiting and this time, come back safely." Samantha urges.

With a slight nod to show agreement, he slowly let's go of her and turns to depart.

"Son from the falls! Run now! Run!! You are destined to turn around the hellish parade of this world! Don't settle with us! For we are doomed!! I tell you, we are...…" before an elderly woman could finish up her words, one of the women who as well works with them in the field drops a kick on her mouth to shut her up.

"Shit up with your nonsense, you wench!!" the woman warns as she helps herself up.

"Kid! You better return back to Samantha or else, I'll pray that your soul never rests well!" She turns to Liam and serves him his own warning.

He responds with a nod and a smile as he run off from the field and back to the plains to carry on with his punishment.

......…

It was evening, the men chugging down on their drinks and feasting for their biggest plunder ever.

It seems like everyone is in merry except for the young Liam.

"Son, what's with this disgusting look in a feast?" The Chief approaches him with his own mug of beer.

Liam could only respond by still giving him the sad look, sips a little bit from his own mug before looking down again at the floor.

The Chief shrugs before he takes a seat beside him and breaks the awkward silence between them, "son, tell me honestly, how did it feel when you killed your first opponent?"

For a while, there was a silence as Liam thinks deep before answering, "traumatizing.

I bet for the weak hearted, they would have thrown up and even blacked out at the moment but as for me who has experienced death before my very own eyes, it was just an added experience to my trauma which summarises into me being just sad.

After the series of killings, knowing that I have no consequences coming after me, it felt abnormally normal to me, almost feeling great as I now have the will to grant a human life or death just like the livestock in our care but I instantly cautioned myself and have my principles take over my mind once again to never feel pleasure from it.

Instead, I just manipulated myself to feel that it was needed and always remember to bestow respect over my victims.

Was it fun? For a moment but will I ever do it again? I don't have a choice. For me, my betrothed and then, for the kids to come."

"Wise words young one but don't let the grace of death devour you, remember, a calm stream before the great water fall.

Now, I know that you don't worry about killing, but what fears you now?" The Chief asks out of concern.

"The sword pointing back at us on our neck." Liam answers but this left the Chief in silence at first before patting Liam's left shoulder with his right hand and responded,

"Think of your betrothed, that is the answer you need." The Chief gets up and leaves.

After some moments of Liam being in a trance, he quickly gulps down his mug, rise up and shouted, "Madame, more beer please!?"
