First Day(1)

As soon as I twisted the door knob and swirled open the door, cool air-conditioned air blew past me.

Stepping inside and closing the door behind me, I turned my gaze to look through the classroom.

I saw descending rows piling upon rows of exquisitely arranged desks.

The whole interior was neat and spotless, almost as if it was shining.

Kids were chatting among themselves, friends were catching up with each other, and some diligent students readied themselves for the first day with their heads buried in the books.

While in between, I also discovered a few students sneaking glances at me.

It was clear that they were looking at me for being a disowned noble.

People like me who fell out of grace and have low-level talents are generally subjected to bullying. I am sure that some of them were marking me as their target.

After looking around the classroom, I found an empty seat in the corner rows near window side.

I walked towards the seat not caring about the looks I was getting and sat down.

I tried my best to avoid taking a seat near other students so that I could have a piece of mind.

I also noticed that both Amelia and Aster were in the same class as me. If I had known this earlier I would have at least followed them from a distance.

No, doing that would make me look like a stalker, it's best that I found the way on my own.

SLAM-!!

Just as I was indulging in my thoughts, the door of the classroom opened once again, this time with a loud slam.

The one to enter was a girl who was also a cadet.

She was wearing the girl's cadet uniform, which was a black mini skirt, thigh-high socks, a black shirt, and a black blazer with golden edges with red inner lining.

Her black hair, which she had tied into a ponytail, was running down her waist as she panted like a cat out of breath.

However, her most distinct feature was that pair of crystal-like golden eyes. 

No one could have noticed this but the eyes of that girl were special. I don't know what exactly was strange about it but I definitely remembered seeing those eyes somewhere.

While I was trying to remember about those eyes, the voice of Amelia reached my ears interrupting me from my thoughts.

"Sia? What happened? Are you okay?" Amelia asked in a voice full of worry while running up to Anastasia.

It seems that they were already acquainted with each other.

"Oh no! I'm fine! I just thought I was late for the class!" Anastasia replied with a flushed face while still panting like a cat.

I could already see a few boys blush at the sight of her.

"Whaa~? We still have half an hour before the class starts! Pfft!" Amelia said while barely holding back her giggle.

"What? Really?! I got up late in the morning, so I thought I was late!" Panicked and embarrassed, Anastasia tried to defend herself.

Seeing the sight of these two girls interacting with each other was quite pleasant.

I didn't fall in love with them or anything like that. They are 9 years younger than me for me to even consider them as love interests.

I has already lost most of my emotions after awakening my memories, now I could only feel little emotions due to the memories of Lucas. But it wont be long before I begin lose even them. 

Anyways, I stopped thinking about all these things and decided to sleep until the class starts since I can't seem to remember about those eyes.

Just like that I put my head on the desk and started sleeping.

(Amelia's PoV)

"Ah- Amelia, why are you doing this? This isn't like you?" My friend Aster called to me from my side as I continued to drag her away from that man.

I slowed a bit and released my friend who seemed to be bewildered by my sudden actions.

After taking a deep breath to calm down myself, I looked at Aster who continued to walk beside me.

"That man is Lucas Morningstar."

That's all I said before walking towards the classroom. There was no need to explain further since everyone already knew about it. 

After realizing the reason for my strange behavior, Aster stopped talking as we continued to walk in silence.

After a few seconds, Aster spoke again.

"S-so he was Lucas Morningstar, He is quite different from what I heard?"

"Of course he is different, most likely he wanted to trick you or something." I replied without hesitation.

There is no way that guy would change after all these years.

"N-no, I wa-wasn't defending him or anything, it's just that his atmosphere was quite different from what I thought!" Aster frantically tried to explained herself, probably because she thought that I was offended by her words.

"You needn't worry about me Aster. I am not angry at you or anything. Let's go to the classroom fast and forget about that guy." I gave a reassuring smile to her to show that I am not angry.

She quickly brightened up and after that we chatted quite a bit.

But I pondered over the words she said earlier and knew that there was some truth to it.

In the past, Lucas always had a frivolous and gloomy attitude who went around drinking alcohol and picking up girls.

After that incident, I vowed to make him suffer for what he did. But seeing him now, he was indeed quite different from how he used to be.

His face looked indifferent and devoid of any emotions. Even after seeing me, he didn't show any reaction.

I had never seen him like that. And honestly, he was a little scary too.

Perhaps being excommunicated may have affected his personality?

I don't know and I don't even want to think about that guy any longer.
