The Nine-tailed Fox is cocky

Wu Yun exchanges a look with Lan Tian and jumps out of the bed. They didn't properly get out of their robes the previous day, so it's a quick affair of smoothing out the robes, and in Wu Yun's case, adjusting the veil hat over his head.

General Pei and Qiao Xiaojian are still facing each other outside, exchanging barbed words. Qiao Xiaojian perfectly poised with his hands folded over his lap, while General Pei towers over him, trying to use his height advantage to intimidate him.

Judging by Qiao Xiaojian's sardonic smile, he isn't being very successful.

"Good morning, General, Master Qiao, I couldn't help but overhear..." Wu Yun says, approaching them both with with a wide smile.

"Couldn't you now?" General Pei asks, barely sparing him and Lan Tian a glance.

"Well, yes, the walls are made of canvas, as I'm sure you're aware."
