“Yeah.” Will went back to a sprawl. “Anyway, you started dating Casey, and I was pretty heartbroken over it. At first, I just wanted that rejected feeling to go away, so I started dating the guy at Sunnydale.”

“That asshole.” Chris made an effort to make the word less bitter than it felt. The raised eyebrow Will flashed him told Chris how badly he failed. “Sorry.”

“Don’t be. He was an asshole.” Will ran his thumb over Chris’ knuckles, and Chris appreciated the gesture. “After that guy, I figured, eh, get some experience and learn everything I could to one day make you happy. Guess it’ll pay off in the end.”

“You just wanted to get laid.” Chris had enough of the distance and crawled onto Will’s lap, using the broad shoulders to steady himself.
