| A King's Affections (Part 5)

After the meal and offering him a special blend of tea she brewed and poured herself, honouring him, Soo-Ah placed the empty plates on the dinner tray, then stood up and waited. But the man simply settled more comfortably on her rumpled bed, under her astonished eyes.

"Why are you gaping at your king?"

"It is late in the night, your majes… Sinmun. Perhaps you should be on your way to your comfortable palace in time for a good night's rest?"

"Oh no, my guards will come for me in the morning."

"You… You plan to sleep here?" Soo-Ah asked blinking a couple of times to realise he spoke the truth.

"Well, yes, you wouldn't have a poor king sent out on the streets. Would you?" he joked at her as he fluffed her pillow and commandeered it.

"But... My bed is too small for two people. Especially when one of them is a king."

"Not if we sit close together," and he invited her to join him with an honest smile and his hand offered for the taking.
