Draco's POV

"What have you found?" My mom questions and I shrug.

"Nothing too leading on. " I murmur frustrated.

"We' ll get there. Where is it?"

"Where is what?"

"The evidence." She deadpans as my dad walks in with take-out.

"Oh... right." I retrieve it for where I hid it when Kehlani was coming, under the table, and handed it to her.

"I sent the blood to Dr. Falkan for to check it out and—"

"I have to go." My mom says suddenly walking out the door.

She took the piece of the evidence with her and I furrow my eyebrows.

"What the heck?" I eye my father who runs after her.

"Alright then... " I mutter to myself.

I pull out my phone, deciding to call Kehlani and she picks up on the second ring.

"Hey there." I greet stupidly.

"Hey." She answers softly, I hear shuffling around and I can only assume she's getting into bed.

"How are you? Is everything okay?"

"Nothing out of the usual. " She says and somehow, I know what she means. "Is everything okay with you?"
