Chapter one: A painful rejection by my ex.

Climactically in conclusion, when Sophie thought , that she had surpassed the heart-rending affair of her ex Williams, she encounters him in a coffee shop down the street.

Williams - ouch, sorry, sorry.

glances at her (who was stunned)

Heyy, it's you .

Sophie - 'astounded; Heyy Williams.

Williams - wow, can't believe am seeing you after such a long time.

Sophie - (stuttering) yea, me too. 'As her legs quivers'.

Williams - 'moving closer to her' you jilted me and never spoke to me again, over a little screw up.

Sophie - 'riled up, eyes widened' a little screw up?,How dare you say what you did was little.

Williams - 'putting his hands on her shoulders ' You see how you are acting now, was the way you acted back then, not letting me explain myself.

Sophie - 'smacking out his hands' Fine, it's old news , Am not interested in what ever you have or had to say.

Williams - 'staring down at her, with his raised brows' , Ok then if you say so .

Sophie with her enraged eyes, makes her way out of the coffee shop , not looking back at Williams.

Getting home , Sophie vigorously opened the door , throwing her bag and slamming the door close.

Bounced on the couch and stayed there .

A short period of time before the evening clock clicks, Sophie stood up to get things ready for the sleep over she had planned with her friends.

Few seconds after, a knock was heard at the door.

Sophie , already knowing that it's her friends at the door. Quickly went to open the door.

Upon opening the door,

Friend 1 ( Ama) - 'screaming and dancing into the house'. Am so ready for this sleepover. While,

Friend 2 (Bella) - 'laughing at the sight of Ama' , Makes her way through the door, straight towards the kitchen, saying; Sophie hope you made enough dinner and ordered some extra junks , Cause am here to eat .

Sophie - 'laughing' replied; yes ma I did.

With the filled house with laughters , Sophie didn't think about seeing Williams for a while.

They got everything ready and began their sleepover. They started with singing and dancing, where Ama showed off her dancing skills.

While the night was still very young , Bella proposed they watch some Netflix, which they did.

While watching the series that has captivated them, with them being so immersed in it, it got to a scene where a love quarrel happens between the couple's in the series, where by the male actor was telling his girlfriend to listen to him so he can explain himself after cheating on her. Seeing that scene took her back , making her remembering the conversation she had with her ex Williams.

As the thoughts run through her mind, she lost focus on the series and also on what her friends were saying or doing.

Ama noticing that Sophie was absent minded,

Broke her up from her thoughts by screaming "who the hell are you thinking about "

Sophie who was shocked from the screaming of Ama , stood up immediately and said; woah you didn't have to scream like that , and moreover who told you I was thinking of anyone.

Bella who was also caught off guard by Ama's screaming, looked at Sophie and said; are you sure you weren't just thinking about something or someone just now . ( trying to make Sophie smile)

Sophie trying to force a smile replied; no I wasn' ,

Before she could complete her sentence, Ama said; yes you are , common spill , tell us what's bothering our dear friend. (Leaning on her).

Bella ; adjusting close to Sophie, said softly; if there is something bothering you, if you don't tell us who would you tell then. Please tell us if there is anything going on with you.

Sophie, raises her eyebrows and looks at Bella and said; you would not imagine who I met down the street earlier today. Ama leaning off Sophie's shoulder in amaze , who is that? She asked.

Sophie replied; I met my ex Williams the one that cheated on me with my coworker.

"surrrrp, Ama and Bella gasped "

Ama - wow I can't believe that, and what was he doing in your area?

Sophie trying to say something,

Bella - with an amazed expression asked; Did he go on his knees, was he apologizing for what he did ,

I bet he did.

Sophie - well I didn't want to hear what he had to say, so I just left him there. She answers;.

Ama and Bella confused, gazing at Sophie ,

Ama - Sophie what do you mean you didn't want to listen to what he had to say, Bella jumping in, and saying; even if you had no interest in him again, you would have still hear him out and watch him apologize cause you deserve it.

Sophie getting up , I just didn't want to , (in an distorted voice), I never wanted to see him again nor hear his voice ,so that's it.

Bella, pulling Sophie back to sit down, said; if that way the case, why are you letting it bother you to the point of you zooming out on us.

Sophie, calmly , said; it's just I don't know. She paused, Ama giving her a suspicious glance,

You don't know what, he is gone and gone for good in your life so that's it for it.

Bella agreeing with Ama on that, convinced her so.

And the night sleepover was back to normal without the thought of her ex.

They switched from the Netflix to playing truth or dare till they slept.

Weeks go by as Ama and Bella has gone back to their normal activities, Sophie still had problems concerning the meeting of her ex.

More weeks went by , Sophie was still in her exs phase.

It was a chilly night , after Sophie was back from work, after her usual endeavors after work. She sat at the balcony of her apartment and watched the passerby's when her thoughts came back again regarding her ex, she immediately took some steps back and sat down on the balcony couch.

On sitting down , all thoughts ran through her mind,

'Unnoticed' she blurted out I still love him.

Stunned by what she blurted out, she gasped and panicked,( saying ; what am I going to do ) repeatedly.

After panicking and moving about for some minutes, she dashed into the bedroom , scattering everywhere. After some time of rampaging through her bedroom , she sighed and said; yes found it.

'It was a small jotter note where she had written her ex 's number Williams'.

Typing the digits in to her mobile , she excitedly expressed.

Dailing the number,

ringing grrrrrrrrrr

Picks up,

Williams - hello ?

Sophie - (paused for a second) replied; hello it's me Sophie ,

Williams - yea I know still got your contact he says;

Sophie - ok , I would love us to meet , I have something to say to you that I couldn't say the last time we met.

Williams- (in an excited voice) yes we can , I also have something to say to you.

They both agreed to meet up and chatted a little about deciding where to meet and the call came to an end.

The day for the meet up has emerged, it was a long morning for Sophie, because she was worried and scared about how to go about what she has to say to him.

When it was time, Sophie dressed in (what she calls her favorite dress) and set out to meet Williams.

After a 30 minute drive, she got to the restaurant where they agreed to meet up. Entering into the restaurant she sees Williams at the table in the corner. She walks towards him.

Getting to the table,

Williams stood up and offered her a seat , similing, Sophie sat down .

Williams sits too.

Both sitting facing each other, we're just staring without saying a word, while Sophie was about to say something, Williams spoke, I would want to explain myself about last time ,

Sophie trying to stop him, Williams says; I love you and I want you back , and in other to have you back I need to clear the air.

Sophie, still stuck on the I love you part , was just there staring while Williams did his explanation.

Few minutes after, he was done. Sophie who had come to say the same thing to him didn't even want to oppose or say anything about his explanation, gave in and proceeded to profess her love for him too.

Which after the meet up they patched things up between them and went back to dating.

When Ama and Bella got to know that they got back together, they asked How it happened, she said :

"I was pained for what he did, but I still love him and whatever he did , he rejected them and in order for me to be with him as I love him , I have to play dumb about it".

Laughing,

Sophie said; all I have to say is if I was to write a novel about it, it will be named A painful rejection by my ex.

Ama and Bella busting into laughter too .
