Shopping! Part-1

{Potter Manor, Somewhere in England}

{11:24 AM, 4th June, 1988}

As the room descended into a flurry of activity, Rigel noticed Sirius slip beside him, his face was an odd combination of amusement and worry.

"You okay Rigel, don't worry about them they don't mean any harm," Sirius consoled. Rigel nodded to the man as he watched Lily tearing into the two. To be honest, Rigel didn't care about their prank, he was still feeling a bit surreal at the moment, the atmosphere at Potter Manor was a little different, it was a good kind of Chaos that naturally drew people in.

"Yeah, it's okay!" Rigel spoke trying to assure Sirius, which didn't really work with his blank face so tried to force out a smile. It was another thing that Rigel noticed, his emotions feel a bit distanced since he woke up, he still could connect with the body very well, his senses worked perfectly, and even his reflexes were quick. The difference was that he always had an odd sense of calmness superimposed over every emotion he could feel. Like right now, he was partly annoyed at being the target of a prank, and because of the fact that they were wasting time. But he didn't need the feel to express these emotions, he just took everything that was happening in with his eyes blinking and taking in everyone's actions.

"Hey?" Rigel turned to look into the pair of bright green eyes, he scanned Harry's face, there was hesitation in his eyes as he continued, "Don't blame those two, they like to prank and lighten the atmosphere..." it looked like he wanted to say something more, but his attention was stolen by the redhead who jumped into his lap shrieking.

Rigel turned to the two bows who had their head down, Lily who was standing behind them with her hands on her hips. Rigel forced his eyes away from her and looked at the two brats, it was Daniel who spoke, he looked like the leader between the two, "We are sorry!" He bowed his head at the end of his statement and Neville mirrored the younger boy.

"It's alright," Rigel reiterated again, it was quickly becoming a little annoying at how many social customs one had to partake in, with all the introductions and apologies and thank you's, barely anything of note had happened in the past five minutes. Rigel turned towards his plate, Lily guided the two boys to her plate and then quickly hopped back into the kitchen.

In a few minutes, a light breakfast containing of an omelette, toast, and a glass of milk was in front of him. While there was nothing magical about the simple breakfast it was one he could enjoy so he happily dug into his food after unconsciously saying, "Thank you for the food."

He took a bite out of the toast and took a sip of milk as he enjoyed his breakfast, the clinking of spoons and table knives with the plates echoed softly as everyone sat down and started eating. Rigel was cutting his own omelette when he noticed a blob of red hair approaching his chair. Rose Potter had her mother's face and eyes, her hair was a darker shade of red but she still looked like a tomato with her fair skin and blood rushing to her cheeks.

"Who did you thank for the food?" Her question was prompted by a head tilt, Harry quickly picked her up and put her in his lap so she was at eye level with Rigel.

Sirius also spoke up, "Yeah, you say that every time before a meal..." he then hesitated and shut up.

"Your Mom for cooking the food and your Mom and Dad for working every day to earn money to buy the food..." Rigel tried to explain as he continued, "...not everyone is as lucky, some people don't get to eat even one meal a day or..." Rigel shut up when he saw the pensive looks he was getting, it was not the time to preach right now so he shook his head and said to Rose, "I was just thanking your Mom for the delicious toast, it's tasty right?" I gave her a small smile, the girl nodded seriously then turned to Lily and spoke/shouted across the table, "Thank you for the food Mom!!"

As the atmosphere eased again, Rigel went back to his thoughts, he had noticed that even though the game or whatever blocked his memories, he still had certain habits like when he was concentrating his right leg would bounce on his paw, how he would sometimes bob his head to a certain rhythm along the lines of a song that was outside the reaches of his memories. Apparently, the habit of thanking for the food could be counted as another one of those habits that he had left over from his previous life.

In another 5 minutes or so everyone was done with breakfast, Rigel carried his plate to the dishwasher before he washed his hands and went back to the dining table. Sirius was sitting beside him as he leaned over and spoke, "So you ready for your wand pup!"

"Yeah," Rigel smiled as he thought about magic, he has been holding himself back from experimenting with accidental magic, according to the books, if he got emotional enough then maybe he could channel his mana and force some form of experimental magic, but he stopped himself and didn't do anything. He had a lot of time right now, familiarizing himself with the world just seemed like the easiest choice right now.

"Alright let's go pup, normally these lots take hours to get ready for anything, but surprisingly they were ready even before we got here today." He then came close and stage whispered, "I think your Aunt Lily threatened them with her food!"

"Hey!" an indignant shout came from somewhere behind the two of them and chaos ensued once again.

{45 mins later}

{Olivander's, Diagonalley}

{00:12 PM, 4th June, 1988}

"-this one a try, wood from a century-old Birch tree with a dragon heartstring core, it is 13 ¾'' inches long." Olivander gave Rigel yet another wand, he took it hesitantly and waved it, a sprinkler burst through the floor spraying water everywhere and Olivander took the wand back.

The old man muttered something about 'the core being too mellow' as he bumbled his way through the thousands of wands in the shop. It was already the 6th wand that Rigel had tried and while he couldn't match the wands with himself like Olivanders, the game did it for him.
